just got my N1 and i need help

hi,
i just got my new N1 and after i played with it a little i tried to root it but every time i tried to unlock it my computer wouldn't recognize the phone.
(i running xp) I installed the drivers manually (after downloading them from theunlocker.com site) and nothing.
when i connect the phone to the computer (not in fastboot mode) every thing works (even tried to run "adb devices") but when i try to unlock it from the fastboot mode it's not being recognized. please help.

I'd say with about 90% certainty, that you simply don't have the CORRECT driver... Seeing as I had the same issue

Start>Run>"cmd" then "adb devices"
If you don't see your phone's serial number then you don't have the right drivers. There's a sticky in the Q&A forum on how to get it working.
You say it works when the phone isn't in fastboot mode. Well, actually all your pc is detecting is a usb mass storage device. That's your sd card, not your Nexus One.

i updated the drivers and rooted my nexus and flashed RAs recovery (the 1.7.0)

"USB not recognised", Odin download mode problem

Hey. Im brand new to this forum and to Android aswell since i came from Iphone. Yea im a noob and sorry if you notice bad english
So i received my SGS2 some days ago and after researching about root/custom roms and stuff, I decided to start with rootin my SGS2. i download Odin3 1.85 and superoneclick, i also liked litening rom v1.1 and downloaded that too.
So i turn on "USB debugging" and turn off the phone to enter "download mode" and when i try to connect to Odin, nothing shows up. And Windows bar tells me that usb is not recognised. But... flash drive/transferring files and connecting to Kies works just fine. Please help me, ive been sitting over 24 hours with this issue and ive restarted/uninstalled installed pretty much everything over and over again (kies/drivers/device) not windows though. Why wont Windows/odin recognise it in download mode???
And if possible, is there a way around to install litening rom??

Just tell us step by step with screen shots if possible then it becomes very easy for us to find where u r doing it wrong...ok ?

Turn off USB debugging .
reboot phone and PC .

This is driver issue.Try to find on kies an option to install the drivers again(i am not in front of my pc).Of course phone on and untick usb debugging

This is a driver problem. The Gadget Driver fails to get installed properly.
Make sure Windows Update are set to automatically find drivers for your devices.
I myself faced this problem. To rectify it I'd to try the same thing on a different machine and it worked flawlessly there.
The problem you're facing is that the Service Mode drivers are not getting installed, hence Odin is unable to recognize it.
Other possible fixes include, trying on different USB Ports, downloading Samsung PC Studio.

Thx for the replies everyone. Yea i figured its a driver issue, ill try the suggested actions incl samsung pc studio installing, and if its still not working i guess my last resort is using another pc or reinstalling windows on my own pc

In kies, i think in the tools menu, there is a install drivers option. This will fix the problem im sure. Not sure about pc studio having the same.

fyi, i reinstalled windows and updated everything and the driver connection issue is solved now. I should have done this from the beginning instead of freaking out for several midnight hours lol thx for the help everyone, hopefully the rooting and flashing process should happen painless now

why my device is showing as unauthorized device????

I am using galaxy grand 2. Gennext rom
when i try to connect my device to PC for reverse tethering my device is shown as unauthorised device.
i think problem arises due to some problem in USB debugging because whenever i connect my device previously it always asked for Allow USB debugging.
now in this rom it does not appear for a single time.
as i love this rom very much i want you to please solve this problem for this Gennext rom.

Did you try on another pc? Test it, maybe your pc is the one with the problem.
you can flash with out pc, sadly there are none rom at the moment to flash trough recovery.

i have try many cable, computer but its still same. its just charging on the phone and not recognized on pc. im stuck on unofficial miui with a lot of bugs, please give me someways to stock my firmware back without using odin or anything that use usb port because my usb port its just for charging only, not working for odin.

Rith click on computer and click on comlutef propeeties then ect device manager u will use warning icon in the list something name i am forget right click on it u will use option update driver click on it then select specific driver path where your driver are installed then search then Huh Huh xD restert your pc then connect your phone:good:

I think problem is with drivers you need reinstall device drivers, first uninstall ur device drivers from device manager then install samsung usb driver software from here ,now drivers will be installed automatically installed on connecting your phone

I have Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530/H/DV model (G530HXXU1ANIA) . I did factory Reset . Then TouchWiz stopped problem arose. I disabled TouchWiz and installed APUS Launcher. That worked fine. Then I want to give cell to another person. I did Factory Reset again. After this the following problems arose.
1- A pop up massage during booting arose. “Unfortunately Process com. Android. systemUI has been stopped”
2- Above mentioned message hang the cell on Main Screen, I can not operate any function.
3- IMEI No. INVALID.
4- Mobile cannot be accepted connection with PC, ODIN, Kies etc.
Kindly guide me in this regard as I am a beginner in the matter of programming etc.

I doubt it is a driver issue because I have tried multiple systems and these systems recognize other phones instantly

its the same from my phone sadly i didnt find any firmware for this its a clone i think

When I get my device in odin mode and connect the device to my computer, the message device not recongized

Try downloading the drivers for your phone on this link
Copy and paste the link
developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows
Then try the download mode again
