In my inbox, I have various emails from various dates. So in the email app, I have the sort as most recent first, and since its sorted by date, there are row lines of the dates for the emails (ie. "Yesterday, Tuesday, 3 weeks ago, etc).
These rows take up a lot of space. About half of the actual email line. So, in my case where I have emails from various dates, I could double the number of emails that I see if only I could remove these rows. The dates of the emails are already next to the email, so I don't need to further categorize them.
Didn't have this problem coming from HTC. Changing sort type doesn't really help because the row line will change to each sender if you sort by sender, for example.
How do I get rid of those extra unnecessary rows?

Hi
When i have appointments in my calender, i get a notice on my today screen with my first upcoming appointment. But now i've got no upcoming appointments these next days, i get a message of a appointment next friday! A little early for a reminder i think! Is it possible to set a maximum number of daus in advance a message is shown? thx
same thing happens here. i havent found an option to change it as of yet. getting a reminder 7 days ahead of time is kinda pointless.
Take a look at PocketBreeze.
You can configure it to see just about any amount of various PIM events (Appointments, Meetings, Tasks, Birthdays & Anniversaries, Contacts, etc.) on the Today screen.
Plus it allows you to add custom tabs and see any other Today screen plugins on a tab within PocketBreeze.
(And, yes - I'm biased. I moderate there! )
I've STF'd through these forums, and am unable to find what I'm looking for. I'm also not sure if this is the appropriate forum, but here goes:
I have the T-mobile MDA Vario II. I run Outlook/Exchange at work and use ActiveSync(Push email) to send/receive email.
I have a large amount of subfolders configured in Outlook and I have certain rules that filter email and deposit them in the appropriate folders inside of Outlook. These are all synchronized onto the phone.
And here enters my problem. The unread section on the today screen only shows unread messages in the Inbox and not the subfolders. Unless I drill down to the folder list, I have no outward indication that I have unread messages in those folders.
I'm hoping that there is a Today screen program or a plugin / registry change that will list all folders with unread messages or otherwise indicate that I have unread messages elsewhere besides the inbox.
I've searched all over handandgo.com, and the software sections of this website. Can anyone point me towards something that will do what I'm looking for? Thanks in advance.
Try Spb Diary, it has tabs which include messages and will show emails from all your accounts. I wouldnt b without it.
I too have the same predicament.. I'm looking at spb diary but I'm not sure about the subfolder notifications on it...
Its very frustrating that I have to scroll through my folders to see if any new mail has been received in them!
Any ideas anyone??
I've been looking for a solution for this for ages. No luck so far...
check this attachment,

it should fix ur problem cause it fixed mine.
My emails on my Pop3 account "not outlook" disappear every day or so, is there a setting that deletes emails? I can't seem to find it.
Need a little more info. Are they disappearing on just the phone or in your account period? Are they disappearing because you only have the phone set for that account to download a certain number of days/weeks and they are older than that? Are these emails in the main Inbox or other folders. Please elaborate some more.
They disappear from my Imagio, not from the email server. It downloads new messages every time it does it's send/receive, but once a day the Inbox is emptied out.
I don't use outlook on the phone nor does it receive emails, even thought I see it on the emails list.
Check this:
Go to the mail tab, select Inbox, then Menu -> Tools -> Options (may have to scroll the list for some of these items) then Send/Receive Schedule. For the "Download messages" drop-down option do you have Today's messages in there? That means it will only pull each days messages and drop any that are older. Change this to show you whatever amount you wish such as 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, etc. Hope that helps.
Mine is set to "All Messages" in the drop menu...
I had that issue too... it sucked.. I am using gmail and switched to IMAP and it now seems to have fixed.. I also am now using google sync through outlook and it seems to push email quite well..
m.google.com/sync from your computer will give you all the instructions as well.. I was worried about battery usage but today was my first full day using google sync and it doesnt seem to drainm battery too much
So far it looks like the issue resided on my Outlook 2003 deleting emails of the server, I had to change the option to "Leave a copy of messages on the server" checked and the amount of days to do so.
I will post in a few days how many emails stay on my phone.
Here's a thought: what if you set an Outlook rule to move your Inbox mail into a different folder? Just be sure that the new folder is set to sync.
My issue was resolved already, I love this phone...
I tried to search but could not find anything.
On my exchange email, I've got multiple folders and emails are sent to the different folders directly.
In HTC email program, I can look at other folders and see unread email there but I can't see unread emails (and get notifications) across all folders, except of course if I missed a configuration?
That's the way it works. If you've got rules to move mails to Exchange folders you won't get new mail notifications. Same thin happens if you use Outlook as the email client, you won't get any notification for mails that got to folders.
What bugs me is that if you hit menu->folders then the unread count isn't shown there - unless I'm missing something

Click to collapse
I also am trying to figure this out. I basically want the ability to receive and be notified of all emails including all subfolders. Regarding Fed's comment, I agree that's how it's supposed to work, but in Outlook you can set a rule to display a notification. In my Outlook I set that as the top most rule for all incoming email so I get a notification no mater what rule runs. Even my BBerry allowed me to select folders that were also monitored and hence a notification and email were recieved. HTC however doesn't seem to have an option to do this. It actually sounds like you guys are getting a step further. If I select menu --> folders I see the folders, but not the email within the folders. Anyone know how to setup notifications and receive email for subfolders in exchange on the HTC?
I want to add that before I used Touchdown and touchdown can show emails from all selected folders.
Are follow-ups working for you (mine are auto-flagged in outlook)?
For info, I've asked the question to HTC. Good news, they replied.
Bad news...
There is no setting for notifications on new mails in servers specifiaclly, If you are using a Windows Mobile based phone you can set these folders to be synchronized and on new mails in these folders you should get a notification upon new mails. On our Android based devices there is sadly enough no way to do this.
The default email client continually downloads email even if it's already been read.
Example:
Received an alert I have email icon showing x number of emails.
I review the emails and delete emails as needed then exit the email application.
5-15 minutes later I get notification through the icon that there are x number of new emails.
I review and notice all unread, new emails are towards the bottom of the list of curent emails. But are emails ive alread read and deleted. I delete the emails again. And the process repeat itself every 5 to 50 minutes showing email that iv already read/delete d from as far as 5 days ago.
I found a solution to the problem. But it's not really solution it's a feature of the email app. there's a feature to set a number of emails to load and it's at the default. apparently if it goes below that number it will auto redownload emails that I have my already read unto that number is reach.
