Ahhh - Nevermind. I found it ... well that's ... annoying ...

What's really annoying is that those apps that let you remap folders from internal to the SDcard don't work on Android 4.2......Why don't they just stop making these stupid 16GB phones...or at least give us an option. Not much point announcing the 32GB and 64GB if you can't buy them in most markets

32 gb micro sd card

Anyone know if the 32 gb card is compatible with the jade? I've got a 4 gb and an 8 gb and they both work fabulously with my jade. Don't know if the 32 gb would work as well. Thanks in advance!
Its supposed to be compatible, but I dont think a 32gb microsd has been released yet I think they are due in 2010?

Hi, im not actullay looking for 32gb on my touch 3g, not yet anyway , im just answering the question to the previouse post . Although videos would probaby eat up 8gb of memory rather quicky.
I used to run a 16Gb card on my Jade and it worked perfectly, until I installed the official HTC upgrade! After that it wouldn't find the card or work for a while before loosing it. I phoned HTC who said that the Jade is only approved for up to 4Gb. I've had to go back to a 4Gb to ensure stability.
If you haven't done the update, there's a good chance that the 32Gb will work (haven't tried it so can't be sure) but if you have I'm pretty sure it won't work.
In short I really regret doing the upgrade as I haven't noticed any major improvements, just the lose of my 16Gb card!
hi
thanks buddy i dont load videos of any kind on my phone so look like 4GB or max 8 would be more than enough for me
thanks again buddy for the clarification

Hello!
I just got my new SD HC (32Gb) card for my htc HD2 device, but im getting weird crashes when i just put some Gb of for example music. It deletes some of it, or changes it to thousands of 0byte weird files..
Can someone help?
/card wasnt expensive and its not Kingston or so./

I'm really not certain about this, but their a limit on the size SD card our hd2's can support. (Either 16 or 32gb which is what I'm uncertain of) try formatting your new SD card into two 16 gb partitions and then see what happens.
Hopefully either that helps or someone with more knowledge than I will comment and give you a better answer

Well the limit is definitely not 16gb because I have one of those and it works fine in Android but it for some reason cannot boot SD Android. Also, if I'm not mistaken MarkAtHome (I've seen him in many of the NAND threads, especially NexusHD2) has a 64GB SDXC card as he was posting something about that a while ago. He'd have to confirm though.

Where did you get your memory card?? You son are a victim of false advertisement. I purposely purchased a "cheap" 16GB sd card from ebay and it wasnt even bigger than like 300MB. There are ways to fake the memory size, and thats why when you try to put the music on your card is says its not there because there truly isnt any physical memory available. And also why it gives those weird readouts. Sorry to bust the news :/

According to HTC's website, the HD2 can support up to a 32GB SDHC (class 10 i believe)

Yes. You set up two partitions 32 gb each.

There have been threads discussing how certain sd cards do not perform well in android devices, including the HD2. It has to do with some of the access times the cards are rated at.
I have tested a 32gb patriot class 10 card in the HD2 and samsung vibrant that made both phones freeze and run terribly slow until the card was removed.
Sandisk cards run flawlessly in the HD2 and I have only been using them for the past year, including a 32gb and a 64gb SDXC. The 64gb must be formatted as fat32 inside the phone before it can be used, but the full 64gb is available.

I agree with elesbb. Infact the same thing had happened to me about 4 years ago. What they do it put a memory hack in the SD card fooling it to think there is more memory. I would say if you bought it from ebay contact the seller first and
tell them you think it might be fake and you wish to get a real card asap. If they don't send you one or sound like they may be un-willing to then you should report them. Here's some information found on ebay's site about fake memory cards.
If you bought it from a different online seller you should still contact them about it and say you did some research and believe you recieved a counterfit item. In the link i shared above there are a few examples of how to spot fake cards including some pictures if you go through the links. I've read somewhere that if you have a sandisk and the class rating is in the corner then you more then likly have a counterfit one. Sandisk's class ratings should be centered in the middle of the SD card.
Okay, i've just sent email to him, hopefully he will just re-send me new, (working..?) or give money back!

Help for sd card

Hello can you tell me please if this memory card is fine for windows phone 7? thank you very much

will it work?its hard to say. There is a thread for confirmed working sd cards on this forum have a look to see if it is on there but then again all the sd cards on there are not guaranteed to work on yours as other factors may play a part so basicslly some will work for some which dont work for others..its all about trial and error my friend. Stay away from fakes. I have a 8gb sandisk class 2 which dont work for other, you know what i mean.
I just bought a 16gb sandisk today and I'm currently running WP7 tango(HD2O's ROM) It works great.

yep.

[Q] Installing Apps to Micro SD

Although the Galaxy SIV will come with several storage options, again in the UK carriers will only be subsidizing the 16GB model and I am wondering if large HD games (Nova, Modern Combat etc.) will install to Micro SD to save space?
I remember reading that since Honeycomb apps such as App2SD are obsolete due to combined memory but I still haven't read that apps easily install to the Micro SD card. So can you?
Thankyou
I recommend checking this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192122
Thankyou, that is one solution but I'm wondering if their is 'official' support for installing apps to Micro SD.
Since Android 4.0 & above can't install app on micro sd anymore
You don't know about it ?

No! Can large apps/games such as Nova install the game data to the micro sd or does that no longer happen as well?

U can Root and install custom ROM that support app2SD
Or root and use an app that merge internal & external memory.
:good:
That's a shame, in the UK that's one more thing the One has going for it.
Thankyou for the quick replies!

No but in the UK the One has 32GB of inbuilt memory and you can only get the Galaxy SIV 16GB subsidized from carriers,

oh, true
I wish the S4 had 32GB already too
that should be the default for all flagships already
The annoying things is that Samsung make a 32GB model, its just that you can only buy it sim-free, which is far more expensive. Now if you could get it with more storage from carriers...

[Q] Move to SD Card

I have just moved from the Galaxy S2 across to the brand new S4, and so far it seems great. A really beautiful phone and generally pretty happy.
BUT.....
When I was using the S2, it was a snap to move apps and files across from the phone storage to the SD Card storage. Well, I am stumped as to how to do this with the S4!!!?? It doesn't seem rational to me to have a phone that will allow you to expand the storage with an SD Card, but then not allow you to actually move anything across. That's like Woolworths giving you a shopping trolley and then not allow you to put anything in the trolley?? That is nuts.. So it must be me...
Could anyone out there please give me a heads up on how to move apps across to the SD Card? I only have 16 gig in phone storage and that is getting eaten up real quick with apps and bloatware, so I really need to be able to use the 32 gig SD card I have installed.
Thanks in advance...

The option was removed since Jelly Bean unfortunately.
That's exactly the reason why I don't understand their choice of releasing a 16GB version (of which only 9GB remain usable).
I bought the 32GB S3 for this reason, and I'm waiting for the 32GB version of the S4 as well, if they ever decide to release it.
If you root your device, there are still options like DirectoryBind, but they aren't perfect, and I think we shouldn't have to mess with stuff like that on a flagship device.
Directorybind is broken at the moment. The app foldermount however is very close to fixing this issue.
The developer is working very hard on getting it fixen and is almost there (he's using my phone for debugging)
It seems that samsung has fuzzled it up themself. Not Google.
If you are rooted there still ain't no way to move files to the external sdcard. But it won't be long till that's fixen and that's the good news!

Thanks for that info. I didn't think it was a Jelly Bean issue because the S2 received the JB upgrade and it was still able to transfer to the ext SD card. But obviously it is different for the recent phones. But I don't get it?? Why make a phone that can expand storage through an ext SD Card and then restrict the transfer of apps to that storage?? Is it me or is that a little crazy??

No problem.
I don't get it either.
The microSD slot is great, but advertising it as a replacement of the internal memory is wrong (so many people seem to think they can have a 80GB phone if they add the microSD to their 16GB phone, but don't know the limitations).
32GB should be the minimum internal memory for a 2013 flagship device.

Guess what?? I am one of those people!!! After knowing about the restrictions, I feel a little cheated and agree 100% with you that 32 gig is the entry level storage considering all the bloatware Sammy has included.

Hopefully they release the 32GB soon and maybe you can replace yours with the 32GB version.
I'm using Android Tuner Free to move big apps (eg games like Deadspace ) across to the SD card. Free app, go into App Mgr, select the app you want to move, click the manage button, choose the move button, select SD-Link. It's working fine for me so far...
The foldermount app should work now on the galaxy s4! Go to his xda topic where you can get the latest version! Yay
You also have to reinstall apps if you want to update them, since the app will not be scripted to support the bind when installing.
