Hi..I have t-mobile galaxy tab US model and I am looking to download a ROM which has ability to make phone calls as well as the 3g speed...can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

As far as I know this is as much a carrier issue as it is a ROM issue. I was able to hack together a ROM that -emulated- full phone functionality with Skype (in terms of voice dial, etc), but at this point you'll have to pick one or the other (3G or Phone)

This forum should be kept as place to mods, questions, news, and other development that pertains to all non quad core galaxy s3's because then we will still be able to expand on all of our phones at once instead being limited to our section only. I think the device thread separation was necessary but we should still have a place for stuff that pertains to us all

I prefer my own section for my device. I certainly did not like having to sift through all of the Verizon locked bootloaders, Tmobile data questions, and AT&T locked LTE data switch threads. I fully support development ports from one device to another, but no need to combine all of the general sections of each device into one major one.

I know -- if it was wifi only it would not be a phablet. And, yes, I expect a lot of people will yell at me for this question. Sorry. But, I have not found a definitive answer.
I actually really want a small tablet with Note 3 capability for meetings and conferences. I do not want a big 10-inch device. The 8-inch would be OK if it had the latest software. And, the Note size would fit perfectly in a sports jacket pocket.
So, has any even heard of a wifi only version? (And, please don't yell at me.)
I won't yell but afaik, there will be no wifi version. I don't think Samsung will see a market in that.

Just turn off mobile data in quick settings. Done. Seriously doubt Samsung would make a WiFi only version.
How about a 7" Tab 3?
how about a used note 2 or note 1 if you only want to use it on wifi? It would save you a lot of money and having to get a data plan. I am sure there a few around ebay or cl.

1. The inevitable rant:
- If it wasn´t for the Stylus I would go for the Ipad Air... Why? 32GB only - No 64 or 128 available for me - and no way to move 90% of Games and big to SD without root.
- graphics for example RealRacing3 - Graphics on Note 10.1 LTE 2014 very bad compared to ipad4 Don't get me wrong, compared with other games graphics rock... But compared to an Ipad4 they just suck.
Have both - and best comparison you get in the car selection menu. On the ipad4 I can read even the printing on the trucks in the back... on it's just a blurry paste.

2. Please DON´T bother to write here, if your post is plain stupid - sorry to be offensive - Android/This and other android related forums were once great, until it became big and for the masses - so it had to be dumbed down to a level where we are now with no end in sight
- If you dont know what I mean then dont post, you are one of them.

-- Samsungs remote deactivation as theft protection sure won't be supported much longer, because dumb user support is costing carriers too much money.

I have no clue about Linux/Ubuntu - same as I started with - but I learned/experimented/read - and I avoided stupid quesions and postings - looking at Linux / Ubuntu forums its still like heaven. 4 What I actually wanted to know
Actually I have ignored now what I expect from others: read and inform more than a day before posting
But here we go:
- I want so swap external with internal SD (mostly for my games) have not found a to do this without root ( I know there isnt any )
+Is there a way without at least permanent root?
+How reliable are root-requiering options like: modyfying vold.fstab or Int2ext or others? - had sometimes trouble like dublicate files - folders - crashes after some time. Especially after reboots with those solutions on my Note 1
+What is the best root solution- maybe with hide root option (integrated or external)? so Samsung HUB (Video, Learning...) and mirroring stays usable?
But it has to work with an Internal - External SD swapping even if temporarily deactivated/hidden for the metioned Samsung stuff to work
+ Knox should / must be untouched
Um first our note 3 can save to Sd under application manager.
Second. Comparing ipad to android is like comparing apples to oranges and in my case the taste of an orange is better.
Both sides have their pros and cons but this android and the mighty note 3.
Real racing is your comparison too?
That may look on an ipad but nothing is better than a super omled screen.
Anyways if you don't like your note 10.1 2014 give it me

First of all take a chill pill man.
Second there isn't available yet a swappable script for sd storage as there was with the s3 that I had.
Now since that answers your question.
Why not start a clean thread asking devs or others how to swap internal memory?
No you start by telling me that I am incapable of understanding what your talking about.
You start your thread with insults to our device and rant about issues that there are in plain view a system that can help.
You said there is no way to save apps to the sd but there is as I stated before.

And on that note, thread closed before any more abuse gets thrown around.
It was very difficult to find a concrete 'yes' or 'no' answer on the various threads here (a lot of discussion of bands and such which may be insanely intimidating to a new user / member). So, from what I've discovered from use and forums, and please correct me if I'm wrong, is that if you are use the 4G LTE network in America you will not be able to connect and use the enhanced speeds on the G900F model. Instead, you'll be stuck with 3G (if you're lucky) and 2G speeds.
Like I said, if anyone knows otherwise and if so can correct me in a very direct (and respectful) way so as to not intimidate new users (like my self) please do so. Especially since I'll be selling my G900F shortly. I truly do thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster that I kept my G900A version just in-case I found any problems with the international version.

Thank you gee2012 for feeling the need to be insulting instead of adding anything productive. Because I am a new user to the Android OS, mentioned that I scanned through the forums here and did not find a clear and concise answer to my very direct question, and found conflicting information through google searches as well as threads here I thought I could possibly help out other new users who may have the same question and feel a bit daunted by the sheer wealth of technical information here. I thought helping each other out, especially those brand new to the OS, was the XDA way. Not responding with a purely negative message to someone trying to be helpful.

I`am not insulting or dissing anyone mate but you only had to compare for instance the G900F supported LTE bands with the used ATT bands on Google and you`re question would have been answered.

No disrespect meant and I apologize for not being specific in my response to you. When I say conflicting information it was based on a google search for what I felt was a basic question, "Does the S5 G900F support the ATT 4G LTE network?" That query led to websites with conflicting information (a few said it did, a few said it didn't, and a few more said 'maybe'). When I came across more information via these forums and more google searching there was no clear and distinct answer that was readily found. What was found, like you referred to, was information on base bands. Because I was new not only to the Android OS but the complexities of phones outside of the walled garden that is iOS I investigated what a base band was. From here I continued my search into the ATT bands and compared them to the S5 G900F model to see if they were compatible. Once figuring out that they were not I had answered my own question. After realizing that there are others out there who either don't have the knowledge, access to, or time I thought I'd share my 'discovery' (and yes, I realize it was not really one) with others.
So yes, you were insulting when you said I "'layed [laid] back to wait for others to answer your question" as I didn't. You assumed from my simple and brief post that I had not taken the time to do any actual searching and was lazily waiting for someone to answer my question. It was an incorrect inference which led to a seemingly sarcastic response (and associated ) which while it won't dissuade me from posting or asking questions does not, IMO, represent the helpful community aspect of XDA.
With that said I see you are a Recognized Contributor, so thank you for the information you've contributed to others throughout XDA.
