try to flash a prev kdz version...

This is not a bootloop. This is a dalvik cache loop. Try factory reset from CWM.
flashing kdz erases cwm....tried kdz on different operating systems still no change..also tried older kdz file..giving up...taking phone to service center....lost warranty card....how much will it cost??

Do you know how did they manage it? I ' m intrested

^^^ probably a hard reset - as such boot loops are just dalvik cache loops and can be solved by wiping it. If it were jtagged it'd have cost more and taken more time IMO.
Btw even without cwm doesn't the three button combo do a hard reset

hello everyone, i have been using the CM7 for gt540 rom since 2.3.3, and i just updated from 2.3.3 to 2.3.7, but now i have a pretty big problem.
at minutely after i updated, the screen would either not respond at all, or it would be way off (like when i push on the outer left side of the screen it opens the browser, and i cant get to the app menu at all anymore). anyone got an idea how to fix this? obviously i already tried rebooting a few times, that didn´t help.
Have you tried a factory reset?

i flashed it, but in the screen calibration, the upper right one (the 3th one after starting) doesnt work, i cant click it. so any other ideas? it can't be that my screen is broken, cause it worked this morning.

Try this using fastboot
Fastboot erase boot
Fastboot erase system
Fastboot -w
Then use recovery to flash a rom and see what happens.

I am having a problem with my Milestone 2. Sometimes, for no apparent reason the screen stops working and I have to turn off the phone through the physical buttons. Does anyone know what might be happening and how can I fix this?
Sorry for the bad english.
Thanks

What is the system version you're using?
Are you using the defy_more.ko/milestone2_more.ko kernel module for extended multitouch support?
First try a factory reset.
Then the second option, if you're rooted, try flashing a SBF.
If none of these work you'll have to send your phone in to Motorola (do you have warranty?).
Sent from my Milestone 2 XDA App
The system version is the original android 2.2
I have used milestone2_more.ko one time, but the problem already happened before that.
What happens if I do the Reset? Am I going to lose everifing thats in my phone?
Its rooted, so I lost my warranty... =/
Is there any other possible solution?
Sent from my A953 using XDA App
If you "unroot" the phone, the warranty is back
Sent from my Milestone 2 with CM7
And... how can I do that? XD
Sent from my A953 using XDA App
Make backup of your data and apps. Then flash original ROM via RSD lite and send it for repair. Or maybe the problem will stop after flashing original ROM.
br Zola
Well, I'll try the factory reset tomorrow. Hope it works, but if not I'll try the other opitions. I don't want to send it to the repair because it can take too long where I live.
Thanks, I'll post the results tomorrow.

I had this same bug a few weeks a go, just reset as factory default and now working fine.
Since I did the factory reset two days ago my phone is working fine, without the screen bug.
Thank you guys, that was realy making me angry xD

Hard bricked my note yesterday trying different roms.
Took it over to Samsung Service Centre today & got it fixed in an hour.
They changed the whole board for free as its still under warranty.
If not it would hv cost me Usd 140.
My Note was stuck on the boot screen & refused to load any rom.
So no worries happy rooting as long as its under warranty
Now i m back rooting again, dare to take the challenge & all risk that come with it.

Glad to hear Samsung changed it for free.
But I think it might not free on other country/area, if they check the counter.
Are you in Jakarta or Malaysia?
I'm in jakarta, i don't think they could check the counter or else they would have known i had been rooting

Was on King Droid ICS Rom & wanted to try out Rocket Rom, so did
- download Abyss Kernel 4.2
- put zip-file on your USB-storage
- boot in Recovery
- Flash Abyss Kernel 4.2!!!
- boot back in Recovery (find it under 'advanced')
- now FullWipe!!!
- Flash ROM
- reboot system
-...you are done
But kabooooommmm nothing got stuck on start up screen
Went to recovery did factory reset still nothing
Than lost recovery mode
Than went to download mode try to re instal with Pc Odin still no go just got stuck loading with Pc Odin
So today, went to the Samsung service centre & boom new board & fresh ics loaded & now happily rooting again lol
But most important never tell the service center u were busy rooting your phone when it got bricked.
Just say "was doing ota update & phone rebooted & got stuck in download mode" that's if u don't have any counter & it still shows official firmware

Hi guys
So how can a person tell that they are on the new kernel once they have flashed it to make sure you are safe before doing a wipe??

1) I'm just telling what happened to my phone
2) Not blaming any rom or kernel in this forum
3) I know the risk involved
4) I can afford to buy as many new phones i want
5) Nobody is bothering u
6) Read my post clearly, no blame mentioned to anyone & i wiped after it got stuck not before
7) This is a public forum & i'm sure we are allowed to post our thoughts without offending anyone

Hey I have a DX...it is rooted. But I'm giving it to my daughter and I want to wipe it before I do. If I just do the system factory reset will it lose the root? Any help on this will help. I have already manually taken all of my apps and pics off of the phone just need to set it up to be hers. Thank in advance.
If you still have ClockwordMod Recovery installed, just wipe data.

Okay, now that I have that done...Did the wipe through Recovery Screen. The phone won't reboot...it's stuck on M screen upon reboot. What did I do wrong?
PS ~ Looked around on here and it said to do another wipe because of the sticking on Motorola Logo screen...I did that...it still sticks at Logo Screen. Did I brick this phone?? Please tell me I didn't and there is a way to fix this. Battery is fully charged, can take it out and get to recovery screen...it is just not going passed the Logo screen.
you can never loose root from a factory wipe .
From what I know Rom manager and bootstrap dont play nice.
Sounds like it's sbf time.
Listen just sbf, root, install boostrap and be done with it .
Rom manager can be a pita and unless you're going to be installing roms, not worth it imo.
