hello everyone, my nexus s 4g is flashed to boost, i been using it for 3 months without problems but in the last 2 weeks the internet was working too slow and i did a hard reset to the phone with the dial code (*#*#786#*#*)
after the hard reset the phone didn't have service because the msid and phone # changed, i went into cdma workshop and restore the msid and phone # and the phone was working again, i can make and receive calls and send and receive texts
but now my problem is that the phone don't show the 3g icon and doesn't connect to internet
i will appreciate if somebody can help me get the 3g working again
thanks
This may sound stupid, but s mobile data enabled in settings -> wireless & network settings -> mobile networks ?
If it is, then have you tried enabling airplane mode and then disabling it? There are times when my NxS drops 3G connection for no apparent reason and this is one way I can get it back.
I saw this posted in the radio guide as way to "retrieve 3G data connection"
Code:
1. Go to Dialer. Dial *#*#4636#*#*
2. Go to Phone information. Choose the preferred network to
"GSM Auto PRL" or "CDMA Auto PRL" or whatever you have.
3. Scroll down, deactivate and activate Phone Radio.
4. Press Menu button.
5. Select Phone frequency, then choose your country.
6. In the previous menu push the Home button to go back to Homescreen.
7. Reboot.

Not really, never even thought about disabling LTE before I read your post, but I had found Tab/List view feature for the System Settings after I started monkeying around with phone, got it on Monday BTW...
When you have the System Settings open, tap the menu button to select between list and tab views. I like list because it puts most things in order similar to my ol' Samsung phones. :good:

Try dialling *#*#4636#*#* and select the first entry (Telephone information). You can set your preferred network type there. On my phone there are a lot of options to choose from, including LTE only, WCDMA only, etc.

Nokia 6 4G 3G & 2G settings
For Nokia 6.
You can change network in simple 4 steps
1) Simply go to settings then press
2) "Network & Internet" then press
3) "Mobile network" then press option
4) "Advance" here you find three options
"4G (recommended)"
"3G"
"2G"
and Slect the network you want
Thanks
Hello
I'm with Leeco Le Pro 3 AI with stock rom 5.9.026s
I notice that my battery drops almost 25 % per 10 hours . Battery used when phone is idle - 30%. The reason for this as I think is that the signal in my place is not so stable so the phone constantly changes between 2g/3g and on some place in 4g.
When I go to settings / Dual Sim $ mobile networks / Network mode i see that it is on auto - ( 2g/3g/4g ( auto) ). The problem is that I can't set it expressly on 2g. There is no option on this settings to choose the type of signal.
If I click on Sim Card slot 1 ( I have only 1 sim card on my slots ) and next click on Netwrok Carrier there is 2 options - auto select and Search for Network. When i go for Search for network i found my local network signals and it shows 2g 3g 4g ... I choose 2g but this do nothing. The phone again is in auto mode ( 2g/3g/4g ( auto) )
So does anybody has any idea of how to expressly set the phone to use exact network carrier ( in my case 2g ) not to be auto?
I believe you can force certain bands by typing this into the LeEco dialer: *#*#4636#*#* and choosing "phone information". Select "GSM only". Use this with caution. Your SIM might stop working because your provider might not support 2G only.
I thought there was an option to choose 2g 3 or 4g separate ???

IDK. Just chose GSM only if you want 2G only. Or better yet, pop your SIM into the second SIM slot and you'll only get 2G. Much safer.

AFAIK, it's supposed to give you a bunch of options: https://www.learn2crack.com/2016/01/force-2g-3g-lte-only-mode-in-android.html
Otherwise just choose 2G or LTE as your preferred network type in Settings.
Maybe try an app like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=www.extremedroid.com.a4gltetoolkit&hl=en
sk8223 - my settings doesn't allow me to choose between 2g /3g or LTE it is locked on auto! There is no option on my model to choose network type.
Sweeden - I thought so that there is such option just as your screenshot but for Leeco Le Ai there is no such one.
Also there is no option to switch off sim card when you are with only 1 sim card. Actually there is an option - but it doesn't work.
So I will try some kind of app to switch between network type
Leeco Le pro 3 AI has really awful ROM- good hardware but the ROM is the worst I ever used
I badly need a custom rom for this model

No I did not.. but as I see on this thread the link to the app it change the settings on the same place as the call combination *#*#4636#*#* ... So i suppose every app do the same things. But to use this code is not so bad ... from there you can choose, 4g it works!
The bad thing is that my issue with battery drain still exist so i will continue to investigate the problem. Phone in idle consume too much electricity - some **** app sucks my battery energy! Every day I have issue with this phone - it is so time consumption .. bug after bug

This works just for a moment for me! Any other tricks that can force 4G LTE even if there are no 4G LTE signal? Thanks
Edit:
Use this instead to force 4G LTE without the ROM changing it back to auto.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Go.EngModeMtkShortcut
Select "Network Selecting" then change to LTE only. Don't mess with the others, I heard it might destroy your device.
I mainly want to switch for the sake of battery life, but I can't find a way. Is there any?

Open Dialer: Enter *#*#4636#*#*
From popup menu > Phone Information
Set Preferred Network Type: Scroll up to "EvDo only" or probably the better option would be "CDMA auto (PRL)" (that should force 3G mode)
There are other possible options there as well, which you will see...
Honestly not sure that it will greatly improve battery consumption though.
