Is this making the external SD act as an Internal SD? If so this is exactly what I came here looking for. I read in a Sprint forum that there was a root way to be able to install apps that would normally only install to the internal SD, to the external SD. This would obviously be great considering we only have 9gb of usable storage with no move to External option.
yeah thats why im trying to find out if the developer for the mod will support the GS4 too

Im working with the Dev of the app FolderMount to try to figure out how to get this to work with the S4. It does basically the same thing, but instead of only moving the data it creates a link between the internal and external sd so the data can be moved to the external and still work. Heres the thread here.
I'm definitely interested in this. Does anyone know the reason why Samsung mounts the extra storage as an SD card and then limit us by not allowing us to move apps? So far this is the biggest disappoint for me with this phone.

Yeah dude, it is illegal to package the google apps in a rom.
I'm flashing the rom right now, I like the blue graphics in the screenshots. I'll report any bugs back that I find, Thanks

Hmm, that sucks! It seems to me that most ROMs that I have used had them cooked in. Kaosfroyo maybe? I don't know, guess I'll get that fixed.

Should the link to download remain up while the google apps are included? I duno maybe it's no big deal but I thought it may be an issue...
Either way when it's fully themed i'll later try this. Looks good

It's more unusual these days for a product to be released finished than not.
I'm working on it, but I'm not the most experienced android dev around so don't expect anything quickly, or at all.
Please don't PM me and ask for a timeframe, or if it's done. IF I get it working I'll be sure to post it on the forums.

I would like to know if there any guru's out there who have time to mentor someone wants to learn more about rom's builds, apps and any other info you would like to share.

There are several "how to" do ...in the dev section. I would first recommend reading enough to be comfortable with both the terms and the technology. Then take a rom, theme or kernel and take it apart. piece by piece, then start trying to put it back together and see if you can. This is how I learn tech, and I think most start there. You will need some Linux understanding and or some computer language experience.
Play around for a month and after doing this every day for a month, then you will be able to ask some of the devs to help you, and they will because you will have some skills to work with........

I'm not sure if you are trying to say something, and don't know how... if you are just emphasizing your point, or if you are bumping your thread... but it makes me doubt you have the ability to heavily mod code.
Can you just ask what you want to know?
This is what I was talking about,

Follow this advice, Cyanogen is one of the best, I would listen to his recommendations.
to use an analogy You can't write words without knowing the alphabet, and you can't compose cogent thoughts without knowing the language. You need both skills.
Learning how to write code is the same thing. You have to start with the basics and go from there......
LikeS15274N said, if you have a specific question please state it otherwise, Get on with the Reading.............
Hey thanks alot for responding. Great analogy, I would like to know if you could help me better understand how to use odin. I can flash back to stock and have done so about 50 or 60 times trying to install custom ROMs. Everytime I try to flash bionix or voodoo the phone gets stuck in reboot loop. So if you could assist with helping me understand this process that would be great. Please keep in mind I will come back for more info as I progress. Please understand my only purpose here is to LEARN. Thanks
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
First things first then, you do realize that you do not use ODIN to flash Bionix, or any custom ROM correct?
In the first reply, I suggested you read the guides in my signature.. have you done this?
I am reading right now. This is alot of good info. So where and how do I identify the sd to place the zip file once its downloaded.

when you mount it to your computer you will get two SD cards. one will be your internal sd (the correct one) and the other will be your external sd card.
you can easily identify them by the size difference. I believe the internal is usually somewhere around 12 gigs. I have also renamed mine (via My Computer) to INTERNAL_SD so it actually pops up like that when I mount it.
Okay, I keep getting an error cant find sd. Now what??

Hello,
I have read the two guides you have online. With what I have gathered I was finally able to flash my phone with bionix 1.3. This is 10x better than the stock. I'm confused. You can swap cards on JB or not?
I bought a red Tab 2 that came with JB but I'm going to exchange for the black since the case that came with the red covers the IR port and the black is cheaper. It comes with ICS, so should I accept a JB update or not? I need to use the external card for all my music and some video files and might also like to download maps to use gps offline.

Wait the case that came with it is the one from samsung right? I actually like the look of that case plus I have a discount to get it for half price.
As far as the music you can put all of it on the external sd card and a program would recognize it. Same for videos. Not sure about maps though.
And as far as swapping sd cards on JB it can be done. I run a script on my JB tab that works. I'm considering reverting back to ICS because from what I've read JB has more issues overall

Yeah, the case that came in the box with my Tab is for a different model I guess since it covers the IR port and also has a hole for the speaker grill at the top center above the screen. Not sure if other cases have cutouts for the front camera or not, or the other thing there, is that the mic?, but this one does not. Also, the case is difficult to get it to stand the Tab up at an angle and only seems to only stand at an almost completely vertical angle making it difficult to use. Overall I'm disappointed in the case.
