So I have been using the AT&T S4 for a week or so now and I noticed that a lot of time, people on the other side of a phone call have a hard time hearing me. I recently rooted my phone and can't recall if I had this problem before that change. Anyone else out there having the same issue? Wondering if at this point, if it's some weird side effect of rooting the phone (but I don't see anyway how it could...)
mine is rooted and the call quality is perfect and the volume is too loud try a reset

Guess I'll go in and have it replaced. I'll let you guys know about the change and if that was the problem. Thanks for the super quick replies!
Volume and call quality are great on mine.
However, the G4 does not get the same signal strength (cell and wifi) that my G3 did....

Hi,
I just got a td2 and straightaway thought that the speakerphone sounded abit crackly. After showing a couple of friends and seeing what they thought they both said the crackling was abit weird but maybe the phone was just like that but im not entirely sure.
Does anyone else have any trouble with there speakerphone? When the volume is completly low it sounds fine, putting it up even abit causes there to be a small crackle when someone speaks (signal is fine and ive tried with a few of my friends).
I've got a 14 day return policy with this company i have gotten my contract from and its been 3 days now and i should be able to get a replacement but i dont want to send it off and them to say this is how its supposed to be. So is this a known cause or is there something that can be fixed or did i just get a bad td2?
Thanks
I have had it with my Touch 3G, before making a call i blowed in the speaker and it was gone.
My HTC Touch Diamond2 does not have that problem.
i had a very similar problem. the speaker worked fine, but when the voice hit a certain pitch level it would distort slightly, like it was picking up a vibration.
I sent it back and got a replacement, and the new one is fine.
Right thanks to both of u, ive tried the blowing thing already and tried again but no luck.
I think the problem is exactly the same as the u described adamrob69 but I just didn't explain it very well lol, so i've sent them an email and will ring on monday and get it exchanged, how lucky must i be to get sent a faulty one .
Thanks
dont worry, it seems at the minute theres a 50-50% of getting a duff phone. The build quality is slipping on these phones.
Im still not enitrely happy with the quality of my second one, but whilst everything still works on it im not going to go through the hassle of changing again!
I have same problem but with speaker at side, when phone rings the sound cracks.
Anyone else having this issue? This is a straight up legit T-Mobile phone with stock ROM and WM6.5 upgrade. I've noticed that calls through the speaker are now distorted, blue tooth clarity remains fine though.
Hmmm...no one?

Mine after the upgrade sounds fine
I've had the same issue the entire time I've had my Dash. Right out of the box I had distortion and a crackling in the speaker - i thought i might have had a bad connection on that particular phone call. After flashing - about a month agio, it's continued. As frustrating as TMobile makes me at times, I dont want to try to hash it out with them. I might reflash to see if that helps but I'[m afraid it wont

Could be hardware related, if the contacts are dirty or the speaker is not set properly it will crack.. could be a bad batch of devices.. get a new one under warranty if possible. I got three Dash 3G's the first day they came out and all three sound fine.
Finally couldn't take it anymore and took it back to the T-Mobile store. The new one should arrive this week.
Hi Rotagilla, would be interested to hear if the new one had the same loudspeaker distortion. mine does the same thing and has done from new. i just thought it was a crap quality speaker

The replacment phone just got sent back and I'm now on #3. The same issue happened again...calls started off very clear but then seemed to degrade to the point where unless I was using BT, the audio quality was terrible. I'm not upgrading the phone to WM6.5 at this time, I'm going to wait and see if the same thing happens again. BTW, the TMO rep I dealt wth most recently was excellent...really first class all the way.
Looks like the speaker will continue to be a last resort. BT seems the only way to get clear reception. thanks.....i dont like my chances with a replacement from Telstra. The only thing that disappoints me with this one is not being able to edit the menu items and not having the Voice Dialling tags. replacing it with the Voice Command is a quantum leap backward, otherwise a great phone.
Well the most recent replacement has started doing the same thing. I did not upgrade to WM6.5 and this one lasted the longest before giving in to the speaker distortion gremlin. Pretty bummed about this, guess I'll just have to live with it.
Hi there, with two separate LG g2 phones, I've had the same very issue where when placing calls, I get really bad noise coming from around the headpiece area of the phone. It sounds almost like the typical interference you would get when you place your phone next to a pair of speakers.
I've never experienced this in any phone before - ever. I'm just wondering does anybody here on the forums with the international version face this very same issue? To test it properly, start a voice call - you need to be in a very quiet room and there needs to be complete silence on the other end of the line (although you can still make it out slightly when a persons talking) Thanks.

Try a different SIM from a different carrier and place a call to a different phone, with a different carrier, in a different place.
If you have the same results, you've got yourself a bad phone. If not, at least you know who to blame: your carrier.
no i can honestly say i do not have any problems with call quality both in receiving and making calls,no noises in earpiece or headphones,no audio problems at all im on international model on 02 at the min i also use orange or ee sim in it as well and no faults,i do have all the silly settings like flip your phone and answer as you raise phone to ear stuff switched off ? anyhow thats how mine is -maybe a fault ?
I've noticed that the buzzing isn't always there (even on the same number) I think the phone only starts to make the noise when it's connected to cell tower via edge (2G) When the phone is connected to H+ tower, it's all gone

Hi
I bought a new motorola droid razr m,
I use it international (GSM and WCDMA) and sometimes the other side does not hear me (Like a silence). Is there any way to fix it? an app or something?
Please help It is a good phone but it does not worth it if it does not work perfectly.
Does it happen on speaker phone also?
Sent from my XT907 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Actually, I have a similar problem. When on speakerphone, the other person can hardly hear me, and so the feature is basically useless. And I've also noticed that the in-ear speaker is also on the low audio quality side. Is this a hardware issue? If so, might be time to upgrade...
i have the same problem from time to time but hasent happened since i updated to kitkat but its too soon to tell if the update did anything about that issue. one thing that i noticed if i pressed the google talk button on the top of the main screen it would strobe like there was st\eady sound waves going through no matter how silent the room was, its easier to test with google search button rather than make calls. (i would not recomend this uness you are out of ideas or just dont care) but i slammed it against a wall a couple times and whadaya know it started to work again. it may sound caveman-ish but maybe if youve dropped it few times something becomes slightly disconnected :silly: i got mine for free cause the screen was cracked slightly in exchange for some time fixing a friends xbox so i didnt really care about messing anything up any further but it worked for me.
Hi everyone. I recently got a new LG G2 from tmobile directly around a month ago. I flashed CloudyG3 on it and that's about it. I love everything about except how the sound quality is... abysmal. The person I'm speaking with sounds like they're moving away from the phone at times and there's also a tinny quality. When the other person uses a headset, it sounds perfect. The second issue I have is how whenever I have Wifi and bluetooth on at the same time they'll both eventually stop working. Let's say I'm on a call and I have wifi on, after maybe 10-15 minutes or so I would not get any audio output from my bluetooth headset and will have to restart my phone or hang up the call. There's also the issues with my wifi always saying it's "turning on" but it doesn't accomplish anything until I restart the phone. Does anyone know if this is a hardware issue or just something else that can be fixed? I really want to love this phone but I can't live with having to constantly reset my phone. Thanks in advance!
Anyone? I don't think TMo can even offer me an exchange since they're completely out of stock.
