I have a few questions. The 360 photo effect, its like vertical/horizontal panorama or like photosphere?
It can record hdr videos? Because it has the same sensor as xperia z.
And 720 @60 fps?
Thanks
don't have photosphere on s4 yet
samsung will release their own photosphere called samsung orb on future update
stay tune
Does anyone know how to successfully change and save the quick settings in the camera? I've changed then many times now but after a while I go back into the camera and they reset back to the default quick settings.

Hey guys after coming from my Nexus which took terrible photos I would like to use the s3 to take some photos of the kids etc. I have bought photo fx previously and am wondering how this compares to the default camera app? What settings do you guys recommend like HDR burst shot etc? Thanks for any advice

Anyone?
Why don't you try a few settings out and see what works for you? I use hdr mode for landscapes as it takes a while to merge two exposures together and kids don't tend to stay still for too long. Macro works as it should. That's about all I can tell you.

I have tried a lot of different apps for the camera, but stock seems to match or better them all for me. I am no expert but am happy with the results. As stated, hdr is brilliant for still scenes and the colours it produces are exceptional. Don't use for your kids though unless their asleep

only reason why Im not on CM10 is because the stock Samsung camera is that good...almost SLR minus, aperture and shutter adjustment...

stock camera is the best afaik.... just fiddle with the parameters and find your best combo for various scenarios
I like stock camera too. Great images at all.
hi, i know this is probably going to sound like im being spoiled and whiny but i'd like to have the option to switch between different frame rates in the stock camera app during video recording - 30fps for home videos and 24 when id like to quickly take something to put into a slightly "professional" video.
is this possible via a mod or something? build.prop maybe?
No toggle exist for the stock app, you find the camera mod in the development section.

does anyone know if it may be possible to implement like the galaxy note 2 camera has with the "voice to capture picture" option? that would definitely be something that would be a nice addition to the nexus camera, at least it seems it would.

Use Camera Zoom FX or Camera 360 for Voice controls.
thanks, well that sounds easier than trying to hack note features into our camera which is what I was expecting to hear. do those apps work with our current camera as the shooting software or will it be a separate camera interface all together?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Separate camera app. Totally different interface having much more options than stock camera app. Much much more.
On my Galaxy S4 I can only record in 1920x1080, 1440x1080, 1280x720 and 320x240.
Well when I want to record a small video and I send it via whatsapp, 1280x720 is to big and 320x240 is to small and ugly.
Thats why I want to get the 640x480 resolution but there simply isn't an option for that.
Is it possible to change something in the camera settings (rooted directories) to get that resolution?
Thanks
+1
I want to change the resolution too without downloading a different app..
Simply if settings in camera app don't provide that resolution, nothing can be done....
Try a 3rd party camera app...

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) the stock TW Samsung camera is the best (or among the best) in all smartphones.
Try Camera jb+ from Google play... It has free and paid versions..
name of the nexus app?

What the name of this app? I'm having the same problem.
For instance... I have found that the stock camera does a great job on action photos with the sports setting whereas the Super Camera doesn't do so well, but it excels at still photos compared to the stock one. Photo comparisons coming soon... I would also appreciate if you guys could post photo comparisons too and what settings you used.

for me, i love Cymera and Vigenette
settings wise, i only change the mega pixels and i dont touch the iso and other craps.
I like Camera Zoom FX

Only alternative I really used was Camera Zoom FX. I use stock 99% of the time, works great for me.
I tried several a couple days ago and found Camera FV-5 works really well. The low light shots in that app were hugely better for color accuracy and detail than stock, Super Camera, A Better Camera, Focal, and Snap Camera. Plus Camera FV-5 does make low light shops look like oil paintings, you see the noise and the details both. There is a free version, try it out, I think you'll like it.
I am using the nexus camera app with photo sphere... deff works smooth on my custom rom, can't complain but much better than Samsung stock

Why are you saying that about a completely different phone? It's not even relevant.
Photo comparissons would be nice. What i have found is that stock camera with flash or no flash takes ****ty pictures at night, especialy faces, all look like water paint. Its that stupid denoise algorithm...
