Right now multiple users have been reporting that root just simply does not work on their stock software. Not sure why there is a variation within the same phone type/hardware, but it'll be figured out soon. Monitor the thread related to root, others have reported your same issue.

Hi all,
Just updated my S4 firmware via odin and now have all sorts of issues, SuperuserSU keeps telling me there is no Superuser binary installed and SuperuserSU can't install it, have tried numerous times re installing SuperuserSU with no luck at all, any suggestions?
Also I keep getting a system message saying "Prevention Information" SuperuserSU has been forced to stop for unauthoriszed attempt to acces system in your device.
Seems this new S4 firmware is a pain in the a**... Some help would be nice folks

If it's rooted try to uninstall Superuser and reinstall, if it doesn't work maybe you flashed a broken update?

I have the same issue since the last update from Samsung and the update is not broken. I guess more that the problem is a not 100% working root on this new firmwares like MH5, MH8 and so on. I also installed the officel version from Samsung (MH%, MH( etc.) and with all versions i got the same problems. Root do not work 100% in all cases and at the beginning i also could not use su correct.
Could it be that Samsung made a strange step forward to kick us out of the system and that root maybe will be not so easy as in the past!?!? Apple say hello at Samsung or what
Greetings

I got root working via cf auto root, however I can not seem to create a "virtual device" so I am going to flash a new rom and see if that helps, if not then I will be going back to an older version of the firmware!

not if you have the new bootloader you won't... You can't go to firmwares lower than the one which has the new bootloader. You are stuck with a large amount of people who also updated and now regret it...

Did the rom you flash have the new bootloader?
There have been a few released without KNOX or the bootloader and if you havern't actually upgraded the stock firmware you can go back to old firmwares...

Yep, no new bootloader in that rom. If you had flashed the stock MI1 rom then it would have the new bootloader and you wouldn't be going to a lower firmware... It also has KNOX disabled or completely removed.
As for anyone who has upgraded the STOCK firmware to MI1 or MH8 then you can't downgrade the firmware by flashing through ODIN or CWM...
hello friends
can some one tell me how can i root s 5 sm g900h variant with latest stock frimware {XXU1ANG3}
cos i was not able to root it with cf auto root file that i used earlier
it stoped on cache in odin and i have to reflash frimware again to make my phone alright again
also what will happen if i check re partition in odin before flashing stock rom
i mean will it completely reset phone cos after failed root when i reflashed latest frimware i got frimware flashed but i had all same settings and even wallpaper from before { i did not have to set up my phone again like entering email and clicking yes
thanks in advance :good::good:
Still not searching before posting, my friend?
Back up your phone. Then revert to an earlier stock build of 4.4.2 for your 900H that is still amenable to the CF auto root exploit.
You should know by now that there are no assurances of retaining root when upgrading. Since you seem set on upgrading, buy Mobile Odin Pro or Super Su Pro and use their features to (usually) retain root after an upgrade. For best results you should be doing the upgrade manually, not OTA.
Good luck.

Back up your phone. Then Install a pre-June 3rd build of 4.4.2 100% stock firmware for your 900H. Root using Towel root.

Apologies for the typo on my part. Disregard the Towel root /pre-June 3rd part. I meant to say revert to an earlier build of 4.4.2 firmware that CF auto root will still work on since you have a 900H.
I'm not sure what you mean by repartitioning though. Who suggested repartitioning?

Hello,
i use a G900F and had root with towelroot.
i did an update on my Phone today to G900FXXU1ANG8. the installation went perfect.
but after the update i tried a new search for a software update and now i got the notification:
the operating system on your device has been modified in an unauthorized way. try downloading software updates using samsung kies on your pc or visit a customer service center.
I also use the app Phone info and when i check my knox counter it says 0X0 so normally this isnt triggerd.
when i connect to kies it just says my Phone has the latest software?

Yes, I did it, had same problem ,flashed new version with Odin, even changed csc, didn't trigger knox and Ota now works fine.
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
And don`t forget to data factory reset after flashing the stock rom

You don't need to downgrade just flash NE2 Kernel, root and flash latest firmware kernel
Hi!
I have a problem with HealthService and Context Service is there any way to fix this?
Thanks
I had used towelroot and it worked great. And like an idiot... i did the software update and assumed root would remain. But of course it didnt and now towelroot doesnt support my software. Does anybody know of a different root method? Or how to downgrade to my previous software so towelroot will work. I already have odin installed and followed one guide to revert to the old software but its failing 2 seconds into it. I downloaded it from sammobile and picked the correct model # and everything. Please someone help!!

Search around... I've seen more than one thread on this. Basically you put the old kernel on (just the kernel) just long enough to towelroot.
Was in the same boat as you, solved my problems following the directions posted here

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900FD running 6.0.1 I'm having issues rooting this phone after the latest patch update because before the latest patch update I had used CF-Auto Root with no issues but now I use it now and try to root my phone it just bricks my phone and I wants to root my phone I'm lost without root I can't do nothing I'm bored and I wants to know what's the best way I can root it since there's not many custom roms for this phone... any help is good...
Thanks

Have you thought about installing LineageOS. It supports the SM-G900FD officially.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...m-cyanogenmod-14-0-galaxy-s5-android-t3476433
TWRP recovery you can find at their official website page searching for klteduos. The current version 3.1 should be fine.
Then you could just use LineageOS' SU add-on for root (choose the addonsu-arm-signed.zip)
All at your own risk & good luck

ive restored my phone with Odin so many times, i couldnt even begin to estimate what that number is. The reason i say that is because in having had restored so many times, ive never had to run CF Autoroot. Ive only ever flashed the tar.md5 firmware then twrp 3.0.2 and boot into twrp and select reboot. Twrp then asks you if you want to change the system from read only to r/w. After that, i just install whatever ROM i want and never have an issue.
