If you got your code, signed up before 4/2 or whatever, they've extended the deadlines it seems... 5/19 to purchase by and 6/19 to send in rebate/phone by....

Thank god (or whoever). I was really worried about getting a perfect One before the rebate ended because I just ordered mine today. This makes it a bit easier.

What methods are people from overseas using to get the Nexus S? I used a mail forwarder to get my Nexus One but that was made a bit easier because Google's online store accepted overseas credit cards. Unfortunately Best Buy only accepts US credit cards.
I was just going to use the "Buy it for me" service that some mail forwarders offer but just wanted to check if anyone on here had another trick up their sleeves.
I'm using mobicity.com.au
prices are alright (not great) but they will get it to you.

But there's no statement, when NS will be available there. Right now you can just pre-order.

Best Buy isn't shipping to any "known" freight-forwarders.
From the mobicity website
The Nexus S is released by Google in the US on the 16th of November. Given this is just before Christmas we expect to start shipping late December/early January.

Use NYBox.com for Nexus S orders
I recommend nybox.com they have Buy For Me service. They buy Nexus S from Best Buy and ship to you worldwide. They charge 15% buy for me fee. Great service, i used them for my Nexus One last year.
I have just placed buy for me request for Nexus S from them.
i go tit right from Bestbuy.com
THeres a generic address you put in ur billing address if ur using international card (its in the help, a Texas address)
then I put in the shipping address of a mail forwarder (shipito.com)
all good!
Hi all
I cancelled my Google order last week before shipment due to getting one of the emails saying it was delayed. I bought from pc world here in the UK in the end.
On Sunday I got an email saying my tablet has been shipped. I checked the tnt ref today and apprantly my Gardner has signed for it today while I was at work. I dont have a Gardner!
At the time of canceling my order i removed my c/card details from wallet to ensure the order was not shipped. I checked my balance as of last night and they have not debited the money. I checked with my bank and they have pre authorised the funds but not taken it.
How quick was your money taken compared to delivery?
Just wondering if somehow I have managed to get a free nexus 7 from Google?

Once you click GO on a purchase a contract is formed between the card issuer and the retailer.
The funds are booked and the item is then shipped. Once the item is shipped the funds are released to the retailer.
If the gardener has signed for it they have a free Nexus and you have to prove you're not a gardener and don't employ one.
if you can prove that then liability is with the carrier and your card issuer is responsible for the refund.
Neighbor with the last name gardener? Call Sherlock
In the US they have typically been charging on shipping day, mistakes aside...

I was thinking about ordering from them, but they want me to put in billing info and a CC before they tell me whether or not there are taxes to NY, and I scanned their ToS and saw no mention of what states they specifically charge taxes.
Worthless. I won't want to put a card in before I know whether or not there are sales tax.

Thanks, I tried the paypal "price check" instead and yeah, paypal was asking me to pay $42 bucks in tax for NY. Will look somewhere else.
Definitely tax in Florida-7% which is same as Amazon, Best Buy, and others.

Arizona resident too, you should be taxed. Outside of the new internet tax rules, the old rules said you had to be taxed on internet stuff if they had faciilities in Arizona. Amazon owns a warehouse here, they've been charging taxing me for a long time. Which is why I'm waiting for Newegg to add Shoprunner support to the Nexus 9 so I can buy it from them.
OT, the US link in the OP just sends me to a splash page that says coming soon?

Hello,
We're writing about the order you placed on October 17, 2014 . The item(s) you ordered is not yet released. We will notify you of a specific delivery date when one is available.

I just got the email. Amazon might have just screwed us because now if we pre-order from elsewhere we'd be back of the line.
This is Amazon CS' reply.
Amazon:If your shipping address is eligible for Release-Date Delivery, we'll automatically upgrade your order to this shipping option.
Release-Date Delivery only applies to orders shipped to addresses within the lower 48 United States. Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and international destinations will be delivered after the release date. Release-Date Delivery also does not apply to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.
Me:Yes it is eligible. Do you mean that I can still get the item on Nov 5?<br />
Amazon:Yes.<br />

Hello,
I am truly sorry for the inconvenience this may have cause.
On further research, there seems to have a change on release date, but we've reached out to the Investigations Team to confirm this and all your concerns.
We will certainly provide an updated release date once manufacturer finalizes the release date of the item, and we won't hold on to your order for any reason.
I'll personally monitor this and get back to you in 2 business days.
Thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter.

I think that's what all of us are afraid of: Amazon not receiving stock day 1. FYI, Google Play store is still showing the Nexus 9 as shipping on the 3rd. The obvious (big) difference is shipping: $3.99 vs $18.99 for next day delivery.

I feel the same as @danlo. I think I will wait until I hear back fro Amazon CSR Christopher. I have been a prime member since it started and I order a lot through Amazon so hopefully that will cause them to get back to me on what is really going on and if there is a delay, how long. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Everyone email Amazon about this. Maybe one of us will get a proper response.

Hmmm, that's strange because that is not my case
1 Google Nexus 9 - 32G WIFi - White
Boxed Shipment
Sub-Total $479.00
Shipping $0.00
Tax $0.00
Total $479.00
And I already checked in my credit card activity and confirmed the above amount, so there was no tax, no shipping charge (granted, I got the 3-8 day service)

I'm in Georgia. HTC e-commerce store activities are handled by an intermediary called Digital River, Inc. (DRI) who (according to their site) also handle e-commerce stores in the US for Samsug, Lenovo, Logitech, Adobe, Microsoft among many other well-know consumer tech brands (did a very brief info search). So most likely DRI doesn't have physical presence in my state, for which I got tax exempted (unlike Amazon that now collects taxes here).
This is just a standard reply they send out for pre-orders. After a set number of days passes and an item has not shipped the system sends out an email. Same thing happened to me months ahead of my PS4 shipping. If you check your order status you will see it is still set to ship on Nov. 3rd.
No need to panic

Glad to see that you got that message. So if there are not going to be delays win Amazon, why the "#$%"# did they have to send that e-mail alerting that "as of now we don't have a delivery date"? What's the deal with that?
(I guess I have to say that this pushed me to change stores which allowed me to save the tax charge, so at least something good came out of this mess for me)

Hello,
Thank you for writing to Amazon.
I can understand that you'd like to know whether your order will be dispatched on the date mentioned.
Further, I've checked and can see that as we have a good pre order request from customer's all over the world I can confirm that your order will be dispatched on November 3, 2014, and you'll receive a dispatch confirmation email stating the carrier handling your order and the Estimated delivery date regarding the delivery of the order.
If we can be of further assistance, I;d request you to please write us back to let us know, we'll be happy to assist you.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Warmest regards,
Ajay
I was just wondering if anyone has received an email for the remainder of their trade-in credit ($200 minus Trade-In Value of phone traded in). I traded in my Nexus 6P which was only worth $83 and I've yet to see any email about the remainder of the credit ($117). I'm on the phone with tech support now and they say the promotion ended back in November. I just don't remember seeing any email with a promo code.
