The rumors of the next generation Samsung Galaxy Note phablet are growing thick and fast. An alleged image of the Galaxy Note III phablet has appeared online, sporting a 5.9-inch display.
According to a report from MyDrivers, the upcoming Galaxy Note phablet will feature a Full HD display and packs a punch with the company's own Exynos 5410 Octa processor, with the four powerful Cortex A15 chips clocked at 2.0 GHz, and the remaining four power-saving Cortex A7 chips running at 1.7 GHz.
Samsung Galaxy Note III is said to come with 3 GB of RAM and will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Furthermore, the phablet is rumored to be unveiled during IFA 2013.

Umm rumours seems to contradict themselves. We have confirmation that the Note III will have Unbreakable flexible OLED(720p) screen.
The First Flexible AMOLED Display to be launched in Q4’2013
So maybe THIS post is right. There will be 2 versions, One full HD(glass) and one 720p(flexible plastic)
Interesting but why does it not even have a Samsung logo? Plus the bezel seems far too big at the bottom. Chinese knock off perhaps?

I agree, the phone doesn't quite look high enough quality. I'd be suprised if they made the bezzle that big or the home button that small. I'm also hoping that they wont make the handset that much bigger than the note 2.
As for the specs... they are what I would have guessed.

And why does it say i9500 at the bottom. Maybe if there was more greasy fingerprints on the phone we could see better.lol

We don't have confirmation of nothing, note 3 will not be 720p flexible screen and the one of the photo it is a poor chinese imitation like thousands others.

I don't know why you say we don't have confirmation. The source comes from the OLED association, it's pretty solid. And yes it will be 720p. We know they can't produce enough flexible screen for the market so logic dictates that they will have two versions.
And yes, even on the Mydrivers website the chinese comments all says the phone is a fake.
Because the "oled association" is not Samsung and they don't have any papers about the future devices of any brand as all of them are secret projects to avoid industrial espionage, so until samsung says that, it is fake.
Also, note it is a top device of samsung who cannot sell low specs like 720p, so likely the device with the new unbreakable screen with 720p will be a new one to test the market, not the second bestseller of samsung.

Well the news is from OLED Association but the info comes from SDC(Samsung Display Corporation). And if you read it doesn't say "rumours" anywhere.
Note III is a top device yes, so it should have top technology. Being the first device in the world to have a flexible unbreakable screen is not a little thing even if it is only a 720p. If having a 0.5mm flexible 720p(opposed to 1.5mm glass) means getting a bigger battery, I say go for it Samsung. I would buy a Note III with 4500mAh battery and 720p screen anytime.

What can we learn from the image?
-HW button for camera
-No HW button but ICS software buttons (like GalaxyNexus)
-Better SAmoled screen higher PPI, i dont think the screen is bigger.
-Edge to Edge screen
-Learning..
Looks pretty good huh?
Tell us what you think of the image and give us your opinion!
If it is, I don't want it! No hardware/dedicated buttons=No deal for me! Most likely this isn't the Note; I'd find it hard-pressed that they'd have a new version built a few scant months after the first Note was released. That would kill Note sales!
it is fake, there are any official information about note 2. but i like this design very much

If the screen size and resolution remains the same then you dont get a higher PPI.

EarlZ maybe was meant like the PenTile vs Samoled Plus. Same res but not the same res. And you know what I mean
From what I understand PPI does not care for subpixel its basically display resolution and display size.. it does not factor in the subpixel count.
Could be the Galaxy S3?
Apparently a snapshot of it was leaked in a promo video at CES this year.
If screen is edge to edge, that wouldn't be good imho. There needs to be a bezel. Otherwise you would have too many accidental presses just by holding the phone.

A design with such a thin bezel doesn't look too realistic.
Yeah I remember seeing that picture and others on sites but I'm pretty sure it was concept fan art for the Galaxy SIII.
Just compare the sharpness of the camera/earpiece grill vs the sharpness of the image. Obviously it is a render.

It's sure a fake. Why should they invent a mobile phone without and buttons at the bottom. It's ugly without. Just my opinion
Note 2 most certainly won't have hardware buttons.
I'd rather have them too.
Will mimic the Nexus.
Google has already directed developers to begin developing with that in mind.
This concept is the Samsung Galaxy S3, not the second note (N8000)
Btw N8000 got the wifi certificate some time ago I am looking forward to see the younger brother of my phone.
It's a concept none of us will ever see in real life, but many will dream about.

Hearing some buzz on the successor of note. Nothing official yet,but may be in MWC or Samsung conference in March (?) , But what features the existing and to be owners of note expecting ?
Edit :
I know Galaxy note 10.1 and I didn't mean it.
Adding the main expectations from the user's responses
Quad core processor
1.5GB RAM
No Hardware key
ICS
Bigger screen (?)
Metallic body
Hot swap micro SD
micro SIM compatible
NFC
Reverse tweethering
Upgraded AMOLED
Better DAC - Wolfson WM1811
Better positioning of power & volume key
Dedicated Instant Camera button
more coming...
I doubt there'll be a "successor" to the Note for a while yet, seeing as it's only just been released in the US. A 10 inch version is a certainty, though.
http://mashable.com/2012/02/26/sams...eed:+mashable/mobile+(Mashable+»+Mobile+Feed)
Worth noting - it's running ICS! ^
Been thinking similar, looking at new HTC phones and tablets fro Samsung. They are all very impressive but they don't match what I have with my Note, either too small or too big!!
Quicker the note gets ICS the better.

Given the distinctly "meh" specs of the new galaxy tab 2 10.1, I'm assuming/hoping that this new Note 10.1 will have at least the same specs as the original note (i.e 1.4ghz exynos), or hopefully better. Quad core anyone? Or perhaps the processor from the upcoming Galaxy S3? Who knows. I just hope it is more than just a tab 2 with a stylus.
No it does not have the same specs as the note. 1ghz processor, 1Gb RAM and 7000 battery

As the chap above me said, that isn't the Note 10.1. Hopefully the Note will be a "premium" model of the Tab. I predict a 1.5ghz, and a slightly higher res screen. Which is a shame, as it'll probably be completely blown away by the iPad 3's Retina display in less than a week's time.
That tablet looks dumb. Same hardware but bigger battery n kinda better screen res? What a waist .

My predictions for the Note 10.1
1080p Screen (SAMOLED HD, not 'plus')
7000mah battery like on the new tab.
Next gen exynos processor (my guess would be the 2ghz dual core one.)
Hopefully it will have a SPen and Android 4.

1.4 GHz Exynos DC
10.1 Inch Screen (1280x800 Resolution)
Android 4.0
3 MP Cam
16GB/32GB/64 GB
S-Pen
Same specs as the Note, except for the camera. This has 3Mpixel camera as a main one. According to PCworld, the built-in S Note program spawns a window to the right of the Web browser, so as to take notes while still surfing. 7000mAh battery, Android 4.0 and will come in 16, 32, and 64GB models. Keep in mind this has the same resolution as the Note.
However, i still wouldn't buy it. The reason is portability.

Don't you think that's an overkill for a tiny screen? I think 1280x800 or 1600x900 is plenty...
Many 30 and 40'' tv's still have only 1366x768.
Always the same discussion. The difference here is that you so not sit 10 inches from that 40" TV. You usually sit 10 feet away. So the screen is bigger but also you are farther away.
Also we are forgetting the big difference between the 5.3" and 10.1" Note, the smaller one is a phone, has 3G radio.
The good thing about this announcement is that it has ICS on it, and, as the internal hardware is the same as the 5.3" Note, it means it should not take much time to get a ICS ROM for our note. They just have to add drivers for the phone and FM radio parts.

Agree with above
I was hoping it would be a new a15 processor, but sadly it seems that is not the case :-(
As great as the specs of the note are at present, they are going to be quickly over taken once the Snapdragon S4s and Tegra 3s start hitting the market.
Also the resolution of the screen, whilst acceptable, is going to look outdated in less than a month.
I know these are the perils of buying any high end android device, but I was hoping Samsung would be smart enough to be 1 step ahead. Seems not.
With Apple releasing a retina display for iPad 3 1280x800 is a bit underwhelming for a new tablet. It's not a penile screen though, so that differs from the note.

Here's what Slashgear thinks about it:
http://www.slashgear.com/samsung-galaxy-note-10-1-eyes-on-27215509/
One great thing about it is the bundled Adobe photoshop touch and Adobe ideas software that you get for free. They look really nice, and they cost £6.99 or $9.99 each to buy on their own, so it's great to have them included.
Would it be really optimistic to hope that once the original note gets ICS, those apps will be added to the Samsung app store for note owners to download for free?... Pretty please Samsung?
since the the galaxy note has basically the same hardware.. i wonder if we can just interchange roms

These tablets feel like a refresh, probably the real game changer is the rumored Tab/Note 11.6 which is probably on a separate event.
No AMOLED display? sigh
Even though AMOLED colors, dynamic range, and 'white balance' (too warm) stinks, but, i'm accustomed to its super contrasty fakeness
Well yeah, same name but bigger, dont think they will upgrade it so much
Can it make phone calls? If not, then I perfer the 7.7
great ! I need the phone with the same size !
Personally I'm quite excited by this.
GSM Arena have reported that its the same screen as the standard Galaxy Tab but with a different Digitizer to support the S-Pen, According to them its quite a bit quicker than the S-Pen running on the 5.3" so hopefully the ICS upgrade will be including the new drivers to upgrade the performance of the pen.
Other than that, its a fantastic idea. Sit in the office all day designing using your regular Photoshop Set-Up with a Wacom tablet, Then go home and chill on your sofa and continue your design using your 10.1" Wacom Powered Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and then continue your work on the bus on your Wacom Powered 5.3" Samsung Galaxy Note 5.3.
This makes the device a designers paradise, I'm not a designer and I never will be... But I think this is a good shot by Samsung to try and take a device away from the regular Power-Users.

lol. "penile"?
Think i'll wait for ver2 to appear in 12 months or so - it may have a quadcore by then, which would make it a real powerhourse for photo editing RAW files striaght from camera.
GSM arena has some info on what might be N2.
And I just bought a S3 due to the rumors.
5.5" screen
Also rumored is an 8MP camera with improved sensor, as well as 1.5 GB of RAM, along with a new Exynos 5250 chipset, featuring a dual-core ARM-15 processor. 4G connectivity will allegedly come standard for all international units.
---
I think that the N2 atleast should have a quadcore at 1.6Ghz, 2GB of RAM...
But, let's see what hapends, I have ordered the S3 (With a Beats Pro headset ) and if the N2 kicks ass...I might sell the S3 again for the N2...

Second, now quad core is base on a9, the mentioned dual core is base on a15

if it goes with quad cpu like s3, then resolution will be the same, if resolution will be same, no point to make bigger screen.
So in my theory:
if goes with 5250 eynos, resolution and screen will be bigger
if with quad cpu, resolution and screen will be same
haha, I was right with my comic strip day before yesterday at the Note 2 rumormil thread.

This is how rumors get started.
A blogspam site ("ubuntulife") posted poorly written speculation a few days ago. I believe mobilesyrup picked it up and now gsmarena.

This is also why "blogs" and "bloggers" aren't respected. They don't follow the tenets of journalism, aren't double checking their facts and sources, aren't expected to have any sort of journalistic integrity, have no accountability, don't follow style guides, don't have knowledge of the law regarding what/when/how they can write certain things and never had to attend school and/or receive certification to blog.

Not necessarily. It depends on what their competitor's offerings are at the time. Samsung may be forced to move in the dual core A15 2.0ghz by end of the year depending on what HTC, Apple, Motorola shove into their devices.
When you think about it it makes sense to have two flagship models from a business point of view then they can almost always claim that they have the best hardware
And with that logic we can't make any prediction about n2 hardware until we see what competitors markets as an s3 killer
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I think the S3 and Note 2 will tackle 2 different markets - the more tech guys/teenagers and especially people who already have an S2 will opt for the most popular phone by following the market trend, which is the S3. While business users/people who take notes regularly & those who prefer larger screen, will opt for the Note2. If you look at all the Android phones that are released recently or will be released, there is not 1 single phone that is appealing except the S3. It's a win/win situation for Samsung and the company seems to be on a winning stride with its flagship phones.
My guess is Note2 will be sharing the same hardware (SoC) as the SGS3, like they did with the SGS2 and Note1, i would be happy with it, but if i may choose i rather have the dualcore A15.
Only time will tell...

Rumors are already abound with the specs of the device, which include a 4.99-inch, Full HD Super AMOLED screen, a pixel density of 441 ppi, Adonis Exynos 5400 Series Chipset, at least 2GB of RAM, and an Cortex-A15 processor. Also, better contrast and refresh rates along with lower power consumption is in the cards. And Mobile Choice reports that Samsung plans to demo the phone at CES 2013 to release it on March 2013 instead of its usual summer release.
First glimpse of Samsung Galaxy S IV coming soon

First glimpse of Samsung Galaxy S IV coming soon
Company likely to show off 5-inch full HD display in January
Screens are becoming a key battleground when it comes to smartphones these days, so it's no surprise to hear that Samsung is set to show off the screen for its next flagship smartphone ahead of the phone itself.
Samsung will demonstrate a 4.99-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display at CES 2013, according to sources in Korea, who in turn cite inside sources from the company. The AMOLED panel is said to be 'very thin', with low power consumption, as well as high contrast and refresh rate. It also has 441ppi pixel density, which is more or less perfect human vision.
All well and good, but the problem right now is Samsung's ability to turn that technology into mass production. If the company can do that (and we really wouldn't be surprised of they do), the screen will be the one used in the Samsung Galaxy S IV, which is scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2013.
Offering a full HD AMOLED will be a huge and unique selling point, so we suspect Samsung is currently working round the clock to get those production methods just right. If you happen to be anywhere a Samsung installation and you hear the sound of breaking glass, that's probably what is going on.
Regardless of that, the test screen should be shown off in less than a couple of months. We'll be there to get eyes-on to see it in action.
