[Q] [L7] Is CM10 good enough now for a daily rom? - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I really like stock android and was wondering if the latest CM10 nightly is stable/good enough for a daily rom. The current stock rom is still sluggish and I absolutely hate LG's UI, so I want to change.

well first time when i installed cm10 it was very smooth and fast i think to stay with it, but after weeks, month it became very laggy and slower that before.. now i installed back stock and will stay with it. I'll try cm10 again when stable version will come out..
Sorry for bad english

I've been using cm10 for a month now on my P705g, and there's been no problems so far.

Actually new version is 23.04.2013 CM10Nightly and I have one problem. My phone restarts several times per day...

[Q] Wht is the best rom to update?

Hey
I still have Froyo on my U8800 and I want to update to a flawless rom
wht shall I choose
official GB
oxygen
Aurora
....etc
It deppends of what do you want to do with your phone.
Install all the tree and make your choice
Sent from my Huawei Ideos X5 using xda premium
well I want...
improved functions
radio
longer battery life
no essential fails (like no haptic feedback or missing wifi ..etc like the official GB)
play games that froyo can't
i think you must try it one by one.
I would choose a .32 kernel based ROM, as they are still more stable at the moment. Oxygen by dzo would be my first choice
Which rom is stable and less bug?
i am newbie..
I Have Tried Lots Of ROM. I Can Say Best ROM It CM7 Till Now.
The first thing I did when I bought my phone summer last year, was root it and install a custom rom. Didn't even boot it to look at the stock set up first!
First rom I installed was Oxygen, and I have it say it worked great. Stable, fast, good battery life, and never had any problems.
Last month I decided I needed a change, not because there was anything wrong with Oxygen, but just because once in a while I like to play around with different roms.
Tried Aurora, and have to say it's great. Not quite as speedy as Oxygen and battery doesn't last as long, but pretty and damn stable, haven't had a crash yet.
Tried MIUI one afternoon, but not to my liking, too far from the Android experience imo.
Can't go wrong with either Oxygen or Aurora, depending on what you're looking for.

Hey! Catch me up!

I left the forum awhile ago - about the time NAND was starting up. Where are we now? My last was Elegancia on my card with all the other stuff that made it fun. Couldn't find a stable build, too many reboots to fix stuff, and the battery was driving me nuts. Still have the phone (HD2 TMOB) and would love to get it to work right. Any improvements?
stable? 2.3.7
latest w/ HWA - tytungs ICS V2.0
Wow, you've been gone a while then! Well, the HD2 is still running strong- obviously, the hardware in our beloved HD2's isn't powerful enough to play a lot of the latest games with ease (such as GTAIII), but it's still performing well with ICS ROMs (check out Xylograph's AOKP ROM, it's great! Or MIUI V4 from smokin901)
A lot of the ICS ROMs are still labeled as being in beta, but for the most part they seem to be pretty stable to me- I haven't had issues with random rebooting or anything on AOKP, MIUI V4, or NexusHD2.

[q] miui 2.5.25

Hi guys,
Does anyone still have this version of miui by Will5 on his hard drive? I can't download it from will5 thread.
It would be much appreciated.
Cheers
I know it doesn't help your problem much, but have you tried CM10.2 yet? It is such a better ROM in every way than any other I've used on my trusty MS2, Will5's MIUI included.
Thanks, but I actually use cm10.1 by Tezet. It's the most stable and smooth (after some optimizations such as disabling a lot of apps in hwa acceleration) for me. Everytime I try cm10.2 from czeshop or englemars I meet some problems like with bluetooth ad2p, some reboots or hangs... they are not enough finalized IMHO. Now I put all my hopes in kitkat
Anyway, going back to topic, I wanted to find this version of MIUI for my other MM2 to check the difference of performance between this good old miui that I really enjoyed back then and CM10.1. But I am afraid that no one hes this version of MIUI on their hard drive anymore
I finally manage to found that latest version of GB MIUI and it's such a pleasure to find it back. It's so much faster than any of the other roms I have tried. I've been on tezet's CM10 for almost a year, but going back to this miui rom makes my phone ultrasnappy! I forgot that pressing the phone button could make the dialer appear in less than 3 seconds... same for SMS and almost everything in the phone!! You click, it appears, period. No waiting time.
I'll still follow the evolution of KitKat, but even kitkat (I've only tried Engle-Mars one) is not as fast and quick responding as this good old MIUI for the moment. I hope dev will manage to optimize them to that level of snappiness!
I would recommend using KitKat. For me it turned out a lot faster than the CM10.x versions :good:
I don't know about the Engle-Mars Version, but the one of Czechop still reboots on me once a day. Featurewise they are both already on par with Tezets last Rom(but faster).

Stock with PIE?

hi,
im looking for an easy option to have stock ROM with PIE.
This is my first android device (coming from ios) and i tried different roms. First PA 3.99 then Mahdi rom (on which i am for now, the latest version with 4.2 kernel).
What i really love from modded roms is the PIE navigation. I really cant live with it anymore. Apart from that, i dont care which ROM i use all i want ist pure stability, performance and battery. That bugged me with PA and Mahdi sometimes i had reboots, gps not working and what bugged me most is how silent the speaker is for notifications.
I really appreciate the devs and one can see that great roms will be build, but fo now i want stability and battery.
I thought going back to stock and install PIE could be the best? i havent tried PA 4.3 yet since im on D802 and ive read for some people this rom breaks the screen.
Any advice what

If you don't mind being stock and rooted I would recommend LMT. I've never used it with straight stock but I've used it with several Rom's and really like it. Give it a try. Link below.

Recommend a stable and speedy ROM for someone who doesn't want to mess around.

Stock 5.1.1 recently flashed onto my n7 2012 after a while of not playing around with all the custom ROMs. About a year because my Nexus 5 took over as daily driver.
Now I'd like to use it again, what ROM would you suggest that is the most stable and fastest? No need for the extra frills.
I was on 5.1.1 stock and was desperate.... then I tried couple or ROMs luckily one of them was Chroma. It is not as fast as 4.4.4 but ALMOST as fast. I also use M kernel and that way I can overclock a bit. Really, it is not as fast as 4.4.4, only a BIT slower sometimes, I will not lie or exaggerate, but it makes N7 usable again! I dunno about other ROMS, tried Cyanogenmod and it wasn't stable. THen I found Chroma, and I never changed. Really stable and fast. Also supports LAYERS, so you can customize if you're into that....
