I left the forum awhile ago - about the time NAND was starting up. Where are we now? My last was Elegancia on my card with all the other stuff that made it fun. Couldn't find a stable build, too many reboots to fix stuff, and the battery was driving me nuts. Still have the phone (HD2 TMOB) and would love to get it to work right. Any improvements?
stable? 2.3.7
latest w/ HWA - tytungs ICS V2.0
Wow, you've been gone a while then! Well, the HD2 is still running strong- obviously, the hardware in our beloved HD2's isn't powerful enough to play a lot of the latest games with ease (such as GTAIII), but it's still performing well with ICS ROMs (check out Xylograph's AOKP ROM, it's great! Or MIUI V4 from smokin901)
A lot of the ICS ROMs are still labeled as being in beta, but for the most part they seem to be pretty stable to me- I haven't had issues with random rebooting or anything on AOKP, MIUI V4, or NexusHD2.

I want to use something different on my phone.
Now I have "TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.3.9".
Tomorrow I will try WindowsPhone7 but for me Android is better (and I can't live without "sms backup +")
What is the most stable rom with HTC Sense?
I don't mind about 2.0 or 3.0. I want something stable and fast and possibly without too much customizations.
Sorry for my bad english and thanks to all of you for your passion.
I'm praying a chef is reading this section and decides to make a proper stable Sense version again cause there is none left, period. It's terrible...
Your sign tells everything.
So I will try MIUI (which I already tried but is too slow) and then I will return to TyphooN.
i think Rafdroid Rom is really stable and fast.

+1 for Rafdroid Rom.
I'm using the SD version 4.2 in my EU HD2 for 2 week without ANY problem till now.

I am using this now, but have not been able to get anywhere near the speed that is shown in the OP of that thread, not sure if I am doing something wrong.
I'm trying to dualboot windows phone7 (720p :-Q________ ) and rafdroid on sd.
Finger crossed
Rafdroid is the most stable but major speed improvements have been made since, notably by imilka. Unfortunately he never finished his work...
its sems they are unstable if you play certain games on them, ive never had any issues with them so you cannot say every version has issues
Rafpigna's Sense ROM from sdcard is very very slow :-( but it's stable.
I will try Sense ROM and then I will switch back to a cyanogen.
can you tell me a fast and stable sd rom? Now i don't mind if it has sense or cyanogen. I need a usable rom because I want keep WindowsPhone7 and android
EDIT:
I followed this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-cUdB4_5f4
to dual boot
But Android says to insert a sd card!
Well, ALL imilka's builds are FC the same apps. I tried them all. So to me, it's a buggy work. A rom is to be considered stable when every function of the phone is working with decent speed and with all apps working. I would say that 75 % of my games are FC when they all run fine on other ROMS. Even Earth is FC !
The problem is that most of the 3.0 Sense Roms are using imilka's method as a base so they do have those persistent FC on top of their usual bugs.
Let's face it : development for the HD2 is dying and Sense Roms are the best example to prove it.
We still have CM and MIUI fortunately.

Are CM and MIUI fast from sdcard? Or I must install them in nand and say goodbye to windows's 720p camera? (TyphooN CyanogenMod in nand is perfect except for the camera, like all others android rom)
I hope you can understand my english
Well WP7 does have 720p recording but the Camera makes greenish pictures with the flash. To me, good pictures are always better than 720p...
Sure, good colors are better than just more pixel. But for me, the camera seems do a excellent job

Hi Chaps, I'm considering switching builds to the current Typhoon nand rom, I'm currently on the old M-DeeJay nand Rom for those of you with long memories, and for the most part it's been very stable. Unfortunately just recently I've been having issues and have decided to have a fresh install.
Reading through the last 60 pages or so of the typhoon rom, it seems like the ROM has become somewhat unstable with the latest versions, with data dropping out, batteries being drained etc
I've experienced no real issues like this with my current Rom (no issues that I can't solve), are these real problems for typhoons rom at the minute that I should wait to see fixed, or is it a case of user error and I'm fine to go for it?
I've never used cwm, so haven't flashed nightlies, I prefer to find a Rom that works and stick with it rather than risk screwing up my phone
Also - just how improved are current roms over ones that were cooked up around christmas time?
The other ROM I considered was the Dorimanx one, it seems to be just a little too tweaked for my liking
current cm7 roms have android 2.3.5 base. instead of them you can use roms with android 2.3.4 base (which are stable).i typhoon rom op there are old rom download links.i'm not sure but version 3.4.1 is said to be very stable.
best stable rom i ever tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
and fast ...
thanks chaps - now running typhoon 3.4.1
best rom with sense is Android 2.2.1 Sense 2.0 NAND Firmware (based on stock Desire HD RUU Ace 1.84) by Mikhei777
I cant speak for non Tmobile HD2 devices. But for the TMobile version this ROM is the fastest, cleanest, and most stable I have used. I have been using it for almost a year. So far have not run into any issues especially once I switched to the CLK version. [OCT16] AmeriCanAndroid AOSP HD2 GB2.3.7 CM7 | bk2sdext [KERNEL:ACA823]
Hey guys!
I am running CM7 Typhoon atm.. but I want to try ICS. Wondering if the builds are good/stable enough to be a daily driver? Is it worth upgrading now or wait till later?
Cheers
I think yes, but just for try it. ICS right now for HD2 is very unstable.
Yersterday we had got new version of Typhoon. I've been using it since I bought my HD2.
IMHO
i too am running the newest typhoon and am slightly interested in the new ICS builds. besides it being currently unstable, what other issues are there with ICS? I'M under the assumption that not all apps are compatible with it, or they dont fully function.
i'm all for waiting until everything is a little smoother, and i do follow the progress to an extent. i was just wondering about the current status of where is it now before i'd update.
Already on ICS
There are a few good options...
My requirement was a working camera. This took a little while but the Devs are great and I now have a good camera and working ICS CM9
I decided to try it with the SD build for TyTungs port of CM9.
Is it perfect, not yet, but I have not booted back to CM7 since I booted up CM9.
I am going to wait for one or two updated before going in with the NAND build but the SD build is great if you are using MAGLDR and can run the dual boot options.
Check out this forum for NAND details:

and this one for SD details:

Big Thanks to CyanogenMod and TyTung for all their work
Note: TyTung also was working on a AOSP version of ICS. I am note sure but it looks like he may have droped the AOSP in favour of CM9.
I relly like the CMx OS's and like CM7, CM9 has added CM functionality and options. You can see that CM9 is still being worked on in the menus in that there are a number of place holders in the menu, that do not yet have functionality, but the core ICS4.0.3 is working.
Good luck All,
To my mind there is no good enough ics rom(for today) for everyday's using.
Best was miui 4 works smooth, battery life is good but in my region rom doesn't see sim card...
Dev's have much work to do.
I would definitely suggest trying a SD rom first to get an idea of what it's like.
Hey
I still have Froyo on my U8800 and I want to update to a flawless rom
wht shall I choose
official GB
oxygen
Aurora
....etc
It deppends of what do you want to do with your phone.
Install all the tree and make your choice
Sent from my Huawei Ideos X5 using xda premium
well I want...
improved functions
radio
longer battery life
no essential fails (like no haptic feedback or missing wifi ..etc like the official GB)
play games that froyo can't
i think you must try it one by one.
I would choose a .32 kernel based ROM, as they are still more stable at the moment. Oxygen by dzo would be my first choice
Which rom is stable and less bug?
i am newbie..
I Have Tried Lots Of ROM. I Can Say Best ROM It CM7 Till Now.
The first thing I did when I bought my phone summer last year, was root it and install a custom rom. Didn't even boot it to look at the stock set up first!
First rom I installed was Oxygen, and I have it say it worked great. Stable, fast, good battery life, and never had any problems.
Last month I decided I needed a change, not because there was anything wrong with Oxygen, but just because once in a while I like to play around with different roms.
Tried Aurora, and have to say it's great. Not quite as speedy as Oxygen and battery doesn't last as long, but pretty and damn stable, haven't had a crash yet.
Tried MIUI one afternoon, but not to my liking, too far from the Android experience imo.
Can't go wrong with either Oxygen or Aurora, depending on what you're looking for.
Hi guys, I've just recently purchased a U8800 (NOT pro, just the normal one).
I did some research already and the more I read, the more confused I am. It seems that many roms, especially the MIUI ones all have similar problems related to performance, wifi issues etc.
And speaking of MIUI roms, I'm not sure which one is the better one (in terms of speed and stability). Here're the ones I'm referring to:
[ROM] MIUI V4 based Elite ROM SX - (Stable) - 2012-07-14
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562661
[ROM][MIUI-V4][2.8.3][3.0.8]CrazyMiui|08/05|{SMOOTH,FAST AND STABLE}
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690156
MIUI PORTUGAL V4 - 2.9.29.1 (Base GenoKolar)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928336&highlight=miui
It seems that some of them are based on GenoKolar's MIUI rom, and that some are based on other people's roms.
The same applies to other non-MIUI roms, such as this one:
[ROM] Elora 1.10.13 - 2012-10-13
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1798031
which is a hybrid of DZO's Alora rom and some extra added stuff from other roms.
Anyway, I'm really confused by which one to try. I don't want to risk bricking my device or going through the trouble of testing each one and experiencing the problems or bugs, and then try the next one and so on. I was wondering if someone could kindly provide some suggestions as to which rom is the most stable and is decent in terms of speed/performance.
Also, by stable I mean that it has the least bugs OR that it has the minimum amount of critical bugs that could affect the phone's daily use.
Thanks in advance.
Personally i think that for daily use ezet's CyanogenMod 7.2 with .32 kernel is the best considering performance, battery etc. but it is kind of outdated since dzo has made a pretty stable ICS rom(Aurora) which is a lot newer and smoother but with a few bugs remaining. Not to mention that dzo is from the same city as you haha!

Thanks for your reply!
Ya I also think that CM 7.2 is quite outdated, even my Motorola Milestone (which has locked bootloader and no custom kernel support until recently) is on an even newer CM RC release, I think it's on RC3 or RC4 now.
And ya I also agree that Dzo's Aurora rom is probably the most updated one around here but I did read a few comments in the last few pages about certain bugs so I dunno if I should flash it or not.....
I prefer Aurora 4.1u1 for daily use. There's still some bugs, but with some time and understanding of how to find the reason of your problem you'll get the most recent and stable ROM for U8800 now. Also Dzo's back and he is working on the update now so it wouldn't take long to fix all the bugs remaining.
Hi!
Actually i'm with Elora. It's pretty cool and stable.
Best regards
MIUI PT, based on Geno's version is the way to go., in my oppinion.
Very stable, nice and weekly updated
But, honestly speaking, althought every rom as its ups and downs, nothing like you try them all and see which one adapts better to your needs. :good:
