Hey idk if this problem occurred to any1 else but it keeps happening to me.. everytime i launch sprint tv it says 'you must be a sprint customer to use this application'.. i am a sprint customer and i pay my bills on time lol.. the only workaround i found was to unistall and reinstall and then it just works for 1 launch.. when I exit the app the same problem comes back.. this started happening since i started using bakedsnack rom and kernel v1.3..
are there any better tv/media apps? I want to watch live nba games, are there any apps for that?
THANKS to anyone who replies.
Has this happened to anyone elses G2? I am on verizon with 4.4.2 update and not rooted. He had complete control of her phone. Was writing me messages and kept opening pics of my 4 yr daughter. I diconnected the wifi and mobile data. He still had control of the phone. Then I factory reset it and he still was on it. Verizon is sending me a new phone and getting a new sims card. Is there a way from stoping this from happening?
I truly dont believe though that when you switched off network that someone can still connect. Anyways:
firstly, recap if the phone was ever left unattended, letting someone install something on it.
Dont do that, even if if it has a password on it, anyone not looking away when entering it on the street can see what the pincode/password is.
Apps not from play store, dont install. Ever.
Change all passwords on a safe medium (multiple antiviris vendors scanned) of wifi router, to anything, including recovery questions, make them different and non logical or affiliated to you.
Run virus scans on computer and or any medium that ever connected phone.
Then check apps/websites of mail and such for activity, likely activity at times you didnt use any of the services. Anyway facebook and such lets you close open sessions anywhere.
That should do the trick. And big tip dont get paranoid Just ponder how somehow got acces.
I find it hard to believe that someone could still control the device after a factory reset. Highly unlikely I would say.

1. I really doubt this happened.
2. After disconnecting wifi and mobile data, it would be impossible
3. Factory reset would definitely make it impossible
4. It's more likely that the touch screen is having phantom touches
I had issues with phantom touches on my Optimus G. Drove me batty. Some days it was impossible to use the phone, as the touches were all registering in the bottom half of the screen where the keyboard appears. So random letters would be inserted into words.
Turned out to be a driver issue with the custom kernels in some of the ROMs is using.
Factory reset and being more selective in the kernels I ran fixed the issue.
If it's still happening after a factory reset, then you have a defective touchscreen. Replace the phone under warranty.
Typos courtesy of my LG G2 (D803) running Mahdi-ROM.
I really have no reason to lie to you guys. The messages stopped after I disconnted the internet but the screen was still jumping around. That is why i figured he still had access.
I just received the new phone today. Should I go ahead and get a new sims card or I be ok with the old one?

its possible, if he were root and had something installed as system app.
also you can set stuff like tasker to autimaticaly turn network back on.
what did the messages say, cause if they were gybrisch then it seems like phantom touches.

I would, you could have the old encryption method on the sim card which would make it easier to root the card. But I am guessing what happened to your wife was something more like an AndroRAT exploit.
It could be possible seeing as all you need is a phone number to find your location by txt msg, and that can be done silently without you ever knowing.
Seems it's a built in part of the RADIO AT that providers can use, if you're on the inside and know how it works it'd be a doddle, but if the txt msgs were gibberish I'd go with the majority with faulty touchscreen/drivers and nothing to worry about
Bashing away at my HTC Desire C
Tell to the hacker to try to hack my phone instead, I don't care. I will shoot exclusively for him a pic of my arse as award if he manages to hack it and he can print it, or try to sell to the newspapers.
BTW, I'm not so anxious about apps not installed directly from Play Store. You can easily check or restrict the permissions of any app as root user. I never yet faced the problems.

This is very likely version. Anything could be installed via remote then easily.

yeah, all you have to do is google reset password
This could be an issue with faulty digitizer.

ahhh the mistery what can it be, what can it be. Not sure if the typing was incoherent or not. That rules out possible digitizer issues or not.

The TOP bid would be == prank application.
Everything else would mean you're the targeted one (but how would the attacker have your new data?)
Maybe your gmail acc has some connections to another app -> look for permissions in your dashboard.

Hi,
I bought this handset yesterday from EE in the UK, it seems to be some kind of security software called Computrace when i try to uninstall it, it automatically re-installs and can't be removed.
It is built into the firmware in all new EE handsets, I called them and they said it can't be removed but at the same time has access to all my data on the device, i called computerise they said it shouldn't do that!
A quick google search showed that a company called absolute software have tied up with manufacturers to recover stolen devices.
It also is a backdoor for hackers to control devices
Mine is not an ee phone and it has it installed... im using their network tho
Anyone find a way for getting rid?
EDIT
sorry forgot im using a custom tmobile rom my bad.

Try to turn it off in the Settings > App Manager...
If it cannot be turned off, the only way to remove it is rooting your device.
This cannot be removed with root either, it auto installs itself.
I am really surprised this hasnt caused a big discussion on XDA. EE are installing rootkit's on customer phones and noone has batted an eyelid.

anyone found away to remove this yet? I've got a sim free phone with it on and want to remove it?
Yeah , if you install a non EE rom, you can uninstall it using the app manager, also someone made a odin file to remove the files, if left over. I will attach to post.
Note the file is for the s5 901f, so is possible wont work properly on your device.
This rootkit was making my phone go crazy before I got rid of it, draining battery, slowing down data usage settings and causing reboots.

Mine is from the UK on the EE carrier (biggest carrier in UK, orange and a big german carrier own EE so both carriers probably also same policy). Also its not kitkat only, also affects lollipop.
Thanks for the link, reading it now, and yeah computrace is up to no good, I had issues with my data usage data whilst it was installed, so it was probably spying on my usage.
Hello,
Recently nearly all my apps have started lagging a lot and regulary crashing,
spotify, youtube, facebook etc, even System UI crashes sometimes so im stuck with a black screen until i somehow manage to restart it.
i have searched google and have done the things they reccommend like clearing the system cache, checking for updates and even putting it back to factory settings.
now i think it might have something to do with a drop it endured recently but i hope it doesnt, does anyone maybe know more about this issue?
thanks!

yes, as mentioned in the original post i did drop it, it was in its case though and no damage is visible on the outside
I think the issue is more likely to be happened cuz of the drop ,cuz software was the same, even after reset. So you shouldnt perform a research on your own and should go to the nearest mobile centre for the problem.Surely they will help you out..

thanks for the help, ill see if i can bring it to a centre as soon as possible
If some sensor or connection etc or alike been damaged, it could be affecting apps as potentially not able to communicate with it anymore
Hence that app crashing
You said Spotify, YouTube
I guess determine what the common element to the app is
Sound perhaps?

I'm on A17, don't seems to experience any random restarts. You're saying that you've got a machine replacement, do you mean you've got a new phone via the service center?

Are u using lawnchair v2? It happens on my LG V30 until it's updated to latest alpha version.. But it's been very stable with Realme, even prior to updating. Or, maybe this https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238 will trigger an idea if you would go extra mile.
