Hey everybody,
I recently acquired a Nexus 7 tablet that came with 4.2.1.
I used Wug's NRT to Make a back up, Unlock it and then root it.
Few minutes later it asked me to update to 4.2.2, but silly me didn't think further on the consequences so I updated to 4.2.2.
Now I lost root, adb is offline and I can't use the NRT to install TWRP and restore to my 4.2.1 version.
I've ran NRT a couple times and even reisntalled the drivers to see if I could be able to do the previously mentioned operations by selecting "Any build" on the Root Toolkit but all my attempts have been unsuccessful.
So, my question is... what exactly am I supposed to do to get adb online and then root my device again. I already have the bootloader unlocked.
UPDATE: Well it may have been a driver problem since I'm using Windows 8. I switched to a Windows 7 computer and I was able to do the process flawlessly!

Problem number 2:
My Nexus can connect flawlessly to my home WIFI network, but when I try to connect to my school's public routers it goes on loop saying "Optaining IP..." , "Connecting...", etc.
I have tried switching the options to Static IP and putting in an IP (Say 192.168.1.50) and I can connect to the router, but I have no access to the internet.
This leads me to believe that this is a problem with the Gateway and DNS fields.
For DNS I left it as it was (8.8.8.8) and for Gateway IP I input 192.168.1.254 but I wasn't successful and I still couldn't connect to the internet.
Due to the fact that I was able to connect to the router, I believe it's not a problem with the Nexus' chip, I also think that the router configuration does not need to be edited in any way.
I believe it's the Gateway and IP fields that need to have the correct information, the problem is, that I don't know where/how to obtain that information.
When I checked on my home network and switched to Static IP, I saw how both Gateway IP and DNS were 192.168.1.254.
Maybe if I switch those addresses to that it'll work?
Also, I've been reading around that people have this problem mostly with 4.2.2. Do you guys think rolling to 4.2.1 will fix this problem? I rely on my tablet a lot when I'm on school and It would be a pain to have to go through the tedious process of finding the Gateway and DNS IPs of all the modems around the school.
Thanks.
HELP,
My S5 forgets wifi passwords when wifi is disconnected... HELP ME please...
I have the last rom G900FXXU1ANG9.
My S5 doesn't have the problem you cite.
We can't see your phone though and you didn't provide any meaningful amount of information to help us narrow anything down. You should describe, step by step and in detail how you are connecting to wifi. And provide a description or at least screen shot of your wifi settings. Without that critical information it's rather hard for anyone to tell if you are missing any steps or doing something that has this effect.

SG5 Lost Wifi Passwords
Here is my dilemma. I've rooted the phone and looked at the wpa_supplicant.conf file with Root Explorer. Now when I connect to my router the network shows up fine. The psk number is not the correct number/password that I put in.
The line says: psk- 5391587b25ee56324ed273114c137303. When ever I put the correct password in this is what shows up.
When I reboot the phone I have to enter the correct password and it connects but doesn't save it in the psk I believe. It just shows up with a number like above.
I also have an Lg 8" tablet that I've rooted and when I look at the same file it shows the correct password.
Any help would be appreciated.
BTW when I disconnect from the router and leave the house and return the phone will connect to the router of course the wifi is on. When I turn the wifi off then back on or when I turn the phone off and reboot the next day I have to put the password in. When I looked at the psk again I get the above number.
Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,
The security settings say I can encrypt my device and use a PIN to unlock the phone but it only gives me the option to use a password. Am I missing something here?
Thanks for any help!

I'm having some annoying issues with my phone. For some reason whenever I turn on WiFi in my house, it won't automatically connect to my WiFi network or remember the password. I have to keep typing the password in every time. Is that normal? I'm using R.O.D.T Mystery Build Rom but it's just a stock debloated and governed tweaked ROM. I don't think any fundamental WiFi setting have been changed..
I was wrong:
"NOTE FLASH stock Mystery Kernel Below to fix Wifi Password forgetfulness issue with MB v1.1"
So i recently flashed my device. I have an att note 3 i am having troubles using the wifi because everytime i turn it off or reset it the phone wont remember the wifi password or the wifi will get stuck on. I used to have 4.4.4 kitkat on it but when i flashed it i couldnt find the kitkat 4.4.4 and could only find a kitkat 4.4.2 that would work with my phone and actually flash my device i used for a tablet with an old sim card not connected to the network. I recently tried to put my girlfriends sim card in and update it off the att network but it wouldnt connect to the network even with her sim card in the device. I am having alot of trouble and its starting to cause fights between me and her and so i really need some help on how to fix this and update it. possibly a full factory reset. Also i removed a few of the att app that come on the phone the phone is rooted and superu is perm installed even when i factory reset through the boot settings it still is there. if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
I've just updated my S5 to lollipop. Since then it won't remember any secure wifi networks if I restart the phone, so I have to type in my home router password everytime. It remembers open networks (restored them when I signed in to my Google account). When I put the password in it connects with no problems. Before I updated I didn't have any wifi problems. I've tried different routers/networks. I've tried factory resetting it and then not signing in to Google. None of that has helped. I've not been able to find any solutions anywhere, just people with similar problems. I'm on a rooted stock rom, 5.0.
Any ideas please?
Thanks
