Does the S4 display song info when streaming to car stereos and such? mp3s and Pandora? Is this an Android limitation if not?
It did for me with pandora, stock, play music.....it was one of those three. I dont remember.

It didn't work with my Note 2, but I was streaming some from Play Music and the artist/title came through. Pretty exciting since my wife would always brag about her iPhone doing it.

Subaru is a pita with Bluetooth pairing. Try deleting your old sync over voice and then add it back over voice only. Doing it through the head unit control it gets messed.

Actually, that helped. It still doesn't connect automatically (Not sure why...) but it now reliably connects every time i force it to, which is better then before. I'm hoping that someday an aosp bluetooth stack will show up and solve all my problems, but i'm not really holding my breath.

Has anyone else noticed inconsistent bluetooth connections with their Atrix? I use Motorola S9-HD Bluetooth headphones when I bike ride and often the audio cuts in and out. But sometimes it works flawlessly. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Also does anyone have any suggestions to stop it from happening?

I have an Atrix with the same exact headset and experience the same disruptions
Sent from my Atrix using XDA App
It is possible that your headset is not 100% compatible with Atrix.
I had this problem 3 years ago with my windows mobile phone. i purchased a logitech bluetooth headset which was not compatible with windows bluetooth drivers. I then purchased the Cardo S2 and it was flawless.

Having the same issues with Plantronics Voyager Pro+
I'm rooted with greyblur...
I don't use a headset/phones with bluetooth, but I do use bluetooth all day long at work for PhoneExplorer and I use it in the car with a BT equipped JVC head unit and never notice any issues. I do notice considerable crappyness when using the Car's hands free phone functions though.
Thanks for the input guys. Maybe it is just the headphones. I'm going to see if I can borrow a different set from a friend and try his to see if it continues to happen.

Exactly the same issues. Hit ir miss whether they will pair or not. Every time. Annoyingly inconsistent. Especially since they are both Motorola products.

I'm also having the same problems with a Blueant Q2.
It mainly starts skipping when I put my phone in my pocket while listening to music.
Anyone else have any feedback on this?

Have had the same issue with every phone and Bluetooth device I have ever had. Problem might be fixed with Bluetooth. 3.0

What is bluetooth 3.0? Is it part of the new update.

Well I was hoping for improvement with the update but no better. Oh well.

Yesterday I bought a used Galaxy Note from a guy on Craigslist. Everything works great except Bluetooth. I usually pair my phone with 3 different devices. Rocketfish headphones, Creative D200 speaker, and a Belkin bluetooth receiver connected to my home theater. All of my previous and other current devices have no problems streaming to these devices. my new Note pairs with each of these devices and connects, then starts streaming, then no music or sounds can be heard after a few seconds. It still shows connected. I have tried everything unpairing, repairing, rebooting. i even upgraded to ICS and get the same problem except after it streams for a few secs it disconnects now and shows paired and will not connect again until I reboot. Has anyone else had problems like this? By the way im tring to stream Iheartradio using a wifi connection. Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated
Thanks.

After further testing I have had limited success streaming music that is stored on my phone to the bluetooth devices. they stream for at least 45 minutes. Its just when I try to stream Iheart, tunein, winamp shoutcast, ect through wifi or 4G I have this problem. this is strange. I wish I could find some other people that claim they stream online media to bluetooth.
@OP
any chance using or flashing a custom kernel would do the trick on your current issue?
Whatever you do never factory reset or data wipe on stock ICS.

Either you are in the wrong forum, or no. The ATT Note is a completely different device.

Yes I do believe i am in the wrong forum. I should have posted in the AT&T version of the Galaxy Note forum. One last question. Do any of you stream online media through your galaxy note to bluetooth devices?
I'm trying to listen to music over Bluetooth on my Jawbone era headset and everything seems like someone is playing the music faster than normal. Any ideas what is causing it?

I don't know what causes it but I simply disconnect my Bluetooth headset and reconnect. I do it as much time as possible until it doesn't happen again. It doesn't happen very often so that's good. Also you can try to unregister it from the phone and re-register the headset again. Maybe its a Bluetooth bug or something. It happens on my iPhone 4 as well.

Got it fixed. I think it was a kernel issue or something I added to the Rom.

I just installed a new stereo receiver in my car. It's a JVC KD-X50BT. it works fine to skip tracks and such from the stereo , but it won't display the song name which, according to JVC, is related to the Nexus 4 not supporting bluetooth spp profile. Does anyone know anything about this?

Bluetooth SPP works fine for me, maybe it is the combination with the JVC stereo causing problems...
According to the representative I spoke to the N4 doesn't have the profile, do you know where I could find the correct specs for that?
Also, what media player do you use? I use Google music, I forgot to include that in the OP
Thanks
For what it's worth, I have the same problem on mine. I also had the same problem on my One X.

Same JVC receiver as you. I've used Google Play Music, the stock HTC music, and Pandora. The only way Pandora will display the info is if I use the special JVC-Pandora mode (but then it limits my skips to 5, eventhough I'm on Pandora One).
This sounds like it's an issue with the receiver then. Anyone have any confirmation (spec sheet, etc.) that would confirm that the N4 does indeed support spp so that I can call and rightfully rant?

Check this thread out. It's an issue with stock android and not your head unit. It only shows track info if I play music from Pandora and that's it. It's annoying. I have a Sony head unit.

Final answer (which is in line with all my experiments haha): the Nexus 4 on AOSP does not support the necessary Bluetooth profile (AVRCP 1.3). However some custom ROMs do, CyanogenMod does with the cavet that the feature has not yet been ported to CyanogenMod 10, that is it seems to have worked fine in CM 9 but isn't included in CM 10 yet. So it's just a question of waiting/kindly reminding the devs.

Hi guys...
Start using S4, and I noticed this little bug?
When i paired with the radio in the car, i need always to select Media Audio.
If I turn on them off, Media Audio, is not select.... it's a little boring, always need to go to settings..
Any one is having the same issue?
I'm using the last stock UK ROM.
This didn't happen with S3...
Thx

Yes and it's dead annoying because everytime I turn my engine on I have to turn s4 BT off then back on and select stereo.
