Hey guys, recently moved to this phone from the HOX+. As I've researched before, the only negative I can see is the burnt out pixel that is very very tiny in the left hand corner of my screen. It doesn't bother me. I had to go through 3 devices to finally get one that didn't bug me so much, but hey, what are you gonna do, right? I'm an assistant manager here at RadioShack in town and I've seen on the two I've sold that they both had the same problem. Oh well, I say it's still an awesome phone. I have no rooted or unlocked the phone because I feel there is no need yet. The stock ROM is already fantastic and battery power is amazing, too. Just wanted to post this and ask what kind of apps you all are running and get some suggestions on how to make this device EVEN better. Thanks!

Welcome, had mine for a couple days. It is perfect. By far the best phone I have ever had. Even my iphone loving manager said that she is considering moving to this phone. She said it is beautiful. Re the apps, I think I saw a post in the themes section that had a list of the best apps. Give it a look.

This is a forum. A place for discussion. Why close a thread that's discussing things out?
People who always think they know everything and refer every thread he posts to "use the search button" & "google knows it" would kill xda itself due to reducing the pageviews/lesser income in ads.

I know right? I see one guy ask a simple question and 20 guys jump on his thread trying to explain (in very lengthy replies) how its a waste of bandwidth to ask the same questions over and over again and to learn to use the search button..
So we get a thread with 22 people , the OP, 20 idiots raging and 1 guy answering the OP's question.
Well anyways, I just simply wanted to ask about some cool stuff for the One. Seriously, amazing phone. So can anyone give me some tips or anything that works good with the phone? Anything in general? Instead of arguing with so called geniuses (when in all reality, it's just a phone) all day who wanna close the forum because it somehow doesn't meet their "standards". Thanks guys! Just really wanted to know more about the phone!

Post counts isn't the point here also the way I see is that the more posting you have the higher the chances of you making an ass of yourself. In this case which is found to be true. I guess for the members like myself that has been here longer the June 2010 know that there is an EVO General sub forum. Team Win found an exploit for the 3D. Maybe that could be similarly used against the latest OTA for 4G.

Searching never gets a perfect result... in most cases, unless you have a unique work, you get an over result of unrelated data. I posted something that I thought would be helpful and it is in the correct forum. Sorry if it displeases you. I actually CARE even though I don't need it. I think its dumb you guys locked the ics thread. Regardless if it was drews actual post or not the whole point of android is do what you want and ics and a port and thread and comments and rants and what not is the whole point of forums like this. Hello nexus s development has not one thing on it about ics. That should seem odd. Maybe I need to fire up my nexus one. How can we progress if u take away the online progress. I understand the guy has his own site and what not but that was are only insight into ics on xda. And we use the only phone that's going to get it first . Stop being online nerds. I figured I would open this thread due to the all the hooey going on and also the clogging up of Kushdeck's and JaredtheGreat's ICS thread no longer on here, and with preludedrew not posting his roms on XDA. I've been running the rom for the last 24+ hours. I'm really impressed with how stable it has been. It has some issues mainly dealing with the gallary/camera and setting photos as things etc. but still, for it's alpha stage it's not bad.
I applied the car-o-dope settings and it seemed to calm it down a bit also. These roms should get real fun here soon!

Agreed and the battery life is outstanding. The gallery seems to settle down after a while, but I've been using Quickpic as a picture gallery and makes setting wallpaper and cropping much easier...it works well with ICS and I've gotten no fc's using it. Its free in the market and is a great alternative to stock gallery

You don't have to be a twitter fan, it takes 2 seconds to create an account and search who you want to follow, and check it periodically...keep it as an app on your phone so you don't have to keep signing in all the time. I recommend following @kushdeck as well because he posts test builds not available on XDA also, actually he just posted his alpha 4 build with working camera a little bit ago...

Yeah, I love how everyone was freaking out about a link being posted without even knowing whether or not Drew would be against it. Download links are visible to everyone with an internet connection... there shouldn't be a restriction on posting them.

The problem is with noobs flashing the Rom and something going wrong or running into problems and asking. the noobish questions that the Op isn't qualified to answer. The reason he doesn't care about people posting a link is because he doesn't have to deal with all the noobs and a-holes...

Except noobs flash ROMs and ask repetitive questions all of the time.. Why should we care if someone foolishly flashes a ROM they know nothing about? In any of the other threads, users ask questions which are 9 times out of 10 answered by other users, rather than the devs themselves.

For the last time...that wasn't the issue.... IT WAS IN THE WRONG SECTION that dude developed nothing you look up and see Aamikam look down and see Kushdeck and this a - hole strarted a thread to post a link to somebody elses Rom in the middle of these REAL devs ....when you post a Rom in the dev section you need to be available to address any issues it causes, bug fixes, improvements not drop a link and bone out...

Care to elaborate sir? Try wiping cache and dalvik cache then fix permissions, then reboot should help whatever your experiencing...

So we couldn't have a thread with a link in it in the development section because the OP wasn't qualified to answer questions, so you open a thread that serves the same exact purpose WITHOUT a link to the ROM? If you think I'm here to troll you are sorely mistaken, I merely am posting my thoughts in a thread, just as you are doing. You call him an A-hole for posting a thread in hopes of clearing clutter from other threads, and I'M the troll?
The thread was perfectly at home there. It is a ROM in active development made by a dev who no longer posts here; but he has no problem with his work being posted alongside proper credit. The OP posted it to give room for development conversation.
There are multiple threads set up like this.. the CM threads, for example. After being posted, the poster usually never comes back and all questions and concerns are answered by users like us.
Posting that thread in the development section gave room for people who create mods to share their work, as well as to discuss different ideas regarding the fixing of certain bugs.

I have been on this forum for three days now, I can safely say this is an amazing forum! Three days ago I didnt have the foggiest on how to root a phone. Knew absolutely nothing at all. Its amazing the amount of knowledge I have gathered I three days! I now have a quality and smoove running and looking phone, after bricking it three times! Nice to hear you're learning lots.
Just some friendly advice, please some time soon read the rules so you understand how and where to post and when to create threads, correct posting saves the moderators a lot of hard work and prevents you getting flamed.
Really you should have posted this in the general forum/general thread which is always welcoming apart from some grumpy old gits like me ....joking aside, if everyone plays their part the forum is much easier to use and find information on.

I am probably a 100 times worse a noob than you are. The only thing I have done on my S3 is to get root access via Odin. Is there anyway you could point me to some threads from where I can start?
