is it possible to get transparent nav bar on stock or cm10.1? I am aware that aokp has this, but I prefer cyanogenmod.
any advice?

If you're comfortable with compiling CM yourself, you could include the mod in your ROM. Else, try some themes (I think Thyrus has a transparent bar, not 100% sure).
Also, if you want to try a ROM that includes this, Paranoid android and some CM based roms have this mod.

Oh no, they don't, it has a transparent notification background. Sorry.
You might be able to theme it using framework.apk or something, but I wouldn't know who to do that.
Good luck, sorry for the lack of help :-$
Here's a guide for that

Hi
I have been using CM6 Nightlies for a while now, and I have been lurking about in the theme section for a while, and I would like to know how I can theme my Cyanogenmod roms?
Is it a case of actually flashing themed roms instead of Cyanogenmod?
I know ADWLauncher (included in Cyanogenmod) can be themed independently, but I am still a n00b to themes so would like to know what the best options are!
Thanks
Stu

Check out the threads over in the general android theming forum, especially this one
Sage words below
TIP: Your first theme should really just be a mixing and matching of other themes to get use to the process.
TIP: d/l and look at other themes and see what the have done, using the same process below you can port and mash themes. To see what is themed go to the res/drawable-xxx folders and sorte the png's in there to newest at the top and you'll see what they have changed.
TIP: system/app/xxx.apk are where most apps that are themed are contained in these apks you'll find a res folder and in there you have a bunch of folders. you really on need to look in the drawable-xxx ones mdpi, no-dpi, land and so forth. these pngs make up the apps look and feel changing them will theme the app.

No joke, I thought the same.
AOKP has the transparency option as well, btw.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
AOKP lets you adjust the transparency from 0-100%, both top and bottom or individually. It's also a great ROM all around.

Really looking forward to this if it works I've been trawling through the internet for something like this but there was no simple flash apk solution; there were many DIY methods that never seemed to work :S Will this work with stock ROM?
as far as i know it should be deodexed. just install a deodexed one (there are plenty of stock deodexed roms here on xda for n4). i am interested in this too
man i hate the new "wait 2 mins before edit until you a sufficient number of posts" )
Thank you. I installed and AOKP rom.

I still want the apk file. Please post it exb0 when you're finished
Hi. Can you please tell me what exactly u want.
Sent from my Nexus 4
he actually wants the zip file so he could flash the transparent statusbar mod on a deodexed rom on n4. if you want the systemUI.apk file then you should also get the modified framework-res.apk.
I can only do it if you're running CM10.1. I will NOT compile it for stock or any other rom.
if you do it for cm 10.1 then i'd be grateful thanks
not sure if this will work for you, this is compiled with the latest nightly. I sync it everytime. 50% on the statusbar and 100% on the nav bar. Push the APKs yourself or make a ZIP for flashing.
it doesn't... i mean it sort of... works) it f****d up the navbar meaning i can work on it but has flickering and shows images of the statusbar on the background and other stuff which shouldn't be there.
I think you'll have to use my rom instead
Is it not possible for this to be done on the stock ROM?
Just as the title says, does anyone know any mod or guide to make those 2 transparent on Android 4.3(JS)?.
I have tried some here on Nexus 4 forums, but they always make bootloop for me.
This is my currently ROM:

Thanks for the answer, but I'm trying to get these particular mods for the ROM I already have, because 4.3 is not perfectly stable right now on 4.3 and these ROM's have many features I don't really need.

Wow Gravity Box have more options than I thought, this certainly makes it possible to use AOSP.

It's much optimized ROM
It's a nice ROM. Do you know exactly what special features this ROM has? I have noticed manual adjustment for the camera app but long exposures don't seem to work. It shows that the exposure time can be adjusted all the way to 32s but it's non functional...
I guess this should be moved to the Rom development section
Yeah the admin moved it here even.though I insisted a lot that this belongs in the ROM section. He was like you are not developing it so it doesn't belong there
Hey, I'm thinking about installing this ROM. Can you tell me if it allows to change statusbar icons for aosp ones? I'm talking about the icons for notifications on status bar. In regular MIUI they are colorful (exactly same as icons for these apps). I'd like to change them to regular AOSP icons. Xposed module called xMIUI allowed that, but as we all know there is no Xposed for Nougat.
And second question - can you set up a double tap for Recents button as 'switch to last app'? I can do that in most of other custom ROMs (as well as xMIUI module that I already mentioned).
Is it multilang?
