CM Nightly`s are more than stable enough to be a daily driver
I think they should drop the stable release title. And just label nightlies to stable nightlies but keep the definition of what a nightly is the same. How many people would stop using it?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Stable will be released one CM start work on CM 11 (once KLP is out I guess) I'd imagine...
A new post that could be answered over the Q&A lol, but what do you need to have on nightly that isn't "stable"?

I have been flashing kangs rather than offical nightlies for a long time
so I decided to start a thread for kangs ONLY
But i only have NS, but i will still make a thread for NS4G
Why Kang? Because there are features that are awaiting approval to get put into cm7, that get included into kangs. they are the "cherry picks". its like a preview of a future cm feature. also, stuff like boot animation or other goodies get added. @simms22
*go to the end of the thread and start digging backwards for the latest kang
NOTE: A kang is an unofficial nightly that someone with a spare computer builds from CM's github. It is NOT AN OFFICIAL NIGHTLY AND ONLY THOSE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING SHOULD FLASH THEM.

NS4G latest kang
Thanks @djn541
cherry picks in latest build:
* Custom Boot Animation from @rascarlo
* Profiles- Add the Ability to override connections
* Disable render effect for screenshots
* Ring Style Lockscreen
sweet, now the NS4G can share in the cm7 kang goodness, thanks to @djn541(DJ Nourse)

no camera for me either. flashed twice and still no luck
i think there is a camera issue on the cm7 code, have to wait for the next release.
Can someone PLEASE explain the differences between the cm releases? I know nightlies is a build worked on and released everynight. So which is the stable official release? Sorry if its off topic.

This might help explain a little:
This is the changelog for the cm nightlies (for our phone, crespo4g = ns4g)
http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=crespo4g
You can click on each of the changes and see the commits.
There was a release candidate (RC1) on June 27
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=crespo4g&type=RC
--which wouldn't include any of the things added in all of the nightlies since then.
Stability of the nightlies has been fine for me-- I just check the nightlies thread before flashing to make sure noone's reporting that their phone exploded.

2.3.7? I was wondering if this includes the updated kernel. I don't see it listed in the Opening Post.. it says Latest Kang kernel, I think.. I just don't know if that means 2.3.7 so that I can run the Google Wallet / Shopper. thanks!
Hi, Green Arrow again, i was just wondering When will the CM9 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) alpha come out? and if it the alpha will be released when it does?

It is an excellent guess. CM team will not make a SDK port. Source: http://goo.gl/OgWcA and http://goo.gl/SScoQ
Source for Gingerbread was... December 17 I think. Internal testing and such, alphas and nightlies, and it was on ROM Manager January 17. So a stable enough release to be made public in that manner was one month. Alphas and such before that. Approximately one week for a booting version with touchscreen.
Edit: source of ICS should be released soon after the release of Galaxy Nexus. Source: WIKIPEDIA
Havent you read there help on CM7? DONT ASK!
It will come out when it comes out.
Tomorrow and if not just look at this post again

props to the cm team. will update op when the official cm9 nightlies start
UPDATE: so it seems we may not be getting a nightly tonight. They are releasing cm9 rc2 today and either we will receive that or we will be empty handed for an extra day, depending on whether the feel a first release is good enough to be an RC. will update when I get more details :3

You can test it out now. Team Hacksung has been releasing test builds for quite some time which I believe is what the official builds will be based off of.

someones going to make it. no dates said yet, whenever miui gets updated to 4.2
I been wondering when r we gonna get miui for the nexus 4.
Yes i already voted on miui.com
Is just that i cant wait for it to be released
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
It will come out, but MIUI is focusing on the xiaomi phone instead, which is reasonable.
also we have chameleon OS coming along soon, its still in development. its fairly similar to miui with all the theming and stuff. its being created by one of the best miui devs in the us, |0xD34D|. he posts abunch of stuff about it on twitter

I'm also impatiently waiting!!!
I can't wait for MIUI 4.2! My Arc couldn't handle MIUI but this ROM won't stand a chance against my blazing fast N4!
Looks like MIUI V5 is coming next week : http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/miuiv5-for-xiaomi-mi-2-coming-next-friday-3-3-1.19655/
Hey MIUIers,
MIUI 3.2.22 will be the last dev version of MIUI V4. Just like MIUI 2.3, MIUI V4 will become history.
If eveything goes well, MIUI V5 for Xiaomi MI-2 will be released next Friday, 1st March!!
MIUI V5 for other devices with MIUI 4.1 will be released in late March or early April.
All MIUIv4 ICS devices will be dropped...
ONLY devices with official stock JB firmware will get MIUIv5...
Does this mean they will release a version for Nexus 4 or does it have to be ported first by the community?
I have been waiting for MIUI to come to Nexus 4 since I bought it in the first wave of units in november.
As far as I can tell it will be based on Android 4.1.X and not on 4.2.X right?
MIUIIIII
Its coming next week
afaik miui v5 is only for 4.2.x devices

i like choice, and miui is great if you get bored flashing basically the same aosp based roms over and over. also, i ran miui for like 2 months on my gs2, which is very long for me, and i miss it
I'm on Xylon right now and I really love the Miui UI, element which I give a lot of importance in a ROM. This MIUI v5 got a so sweet UI... worth a flash.

I don't understand are you running MIUI v5 ?? Is it out ? I am waiting (((
Please tell me it exists somewhere already
So we have seen the first AOSP Android 4.3 Rom on our Nexus S and every one wants to know if we will get it "Officially" from CyanogenMod.. So does any one know if this is possible..?
I really want to know this too and hope we will continue to be supported by CM.
It could go 50/50 on one hand it's a fairly old phone at this stage (2010) but at the same time it IS a nexus device and it did get Jellybean from Google albeit 4.1
Devices with +512mb will get CM 9 onward until further notice.
Nexis were left out from announcements because it would had been redundant
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
I think we are gonna get it because on the recent BBQlog changelog there are a lot of 4.3 merges.

for essibede
Nexus S % will take CM10.2 with %99.9999 but if it doesn't, SlimBean already have 4.3 ports (Alpha now). It's not much different from CM. For may taste, it's better.
i just hope to see 4.3 on my nexus s 4g

You will, but CM has more and more phones to support, so it will take a while. But ou will!
My guess is 50/50 because as above mentioned they have more and more devices to support. However I bet there will be unofficial build of cm 10.2 and beyond
