[learning - how to] Updating cyanogen

Hi to all,
first of all it's only a learning post, I'm not requesting dev updating
We've got roms based on CyanogenMod 6, I saw a friend of mine updating his desire on the fly and well, I know that this isn't possible, but if I go on cyanogen forum i see downloadable roms for every device.
My question is: we've got a rom which is based on desire OR nexus one, I downloaded the package rom of the new cyanogen for desire, what happen if I simply change al the files in the HD2 rom with the files in Desire rom? I suppose it doesn't start, obviusly.
In the Cyanogen for desire archive there are those folders:
System
|--app
|--bin
|--etc
|--fonts
|--framework
|--lib
|--media
|--usr
|--xbin
|--build.prop
and the a boot.img
If I just change the whole system (not the boot.img) folder in my rom with the one in desire, shouldn't it just upgrade cyanogen?
Or just some of that folder.. I mean, I don't think that cyanogen based mod are fully modded and every file is modified to fit our HD2.. or is it so?

Like the rom manager? I dunno. It might be different since this is a hacked device with different drivers....
Plus its on sd card.

Well the question was a bit different... I can update my build only if the builder releases his update, but if he stops, is there a way to update using directly the cyanogen files found on official cyanogen forum? i suppose no, but i'd like to know why and what is the difference between the nexus or desire CM build and our CM build? (and not desire build are made for desire, nexu for nexus, hd2 for hd2, I've understood that XD)
I know it isn't clear -.- can't find a way to explain it better anyway :/

People with the know how - is it possible to build a CM rom out of this yet and if so any plans to do so?
I literally cannot wait to be back on CM - Being stuck on stock android with my previous phone made me miss it so bad.

Hey guys I have the Motorola Defy Mini (XT320) and I have the following question:
Is CyanogenMod worth it to install?
If I switch to CyanogenMod will I see any performance improvement?
In the CyanogenMod website, under the list of supported devices I only see the Motorola Defy, is it available for the Mini too?
And one last question: If I ever install it can I switch back to Android?

[Q] PAC Rom for Zopo ZP990?

Hey guys this is my first post on xda-dev, anyway I recently bought a Zopo ZP990 and I was wondering if I could run PAC Rom on it? It has a MTK MT6589T processor, and the current operating system is a very near stock version of 4.2.1 Alternatively does anyone know of any other ROMS that run on this phone?

You got numerous roms for zopo zp990. google it

Gizchina.it or com will give the downloads. Needrom.com also have some roms.

[Q] JellyBean 4.1.2 Slim Beans port

Hi everyone,
I'm learning to work with roms, and have chosen lloirs excellent build of slim bean 3.15 on the HTC One V. I was wondering if anyone with post experience of working on jb had any advice on things I could tweak or explore the utilisation of on the rom, not just to make it better but also for a good learning experience. So far I have spent the last few days trying to recompile the SystemUI, but today I found the slim jb-apktool, which i thought would hold the answer :'( but to no avail so far. Any help would be super welcome

I'm sorry master....i wanna ask you a question...is the slimrom compatible with android jelly bean 4.1.2 on SAMSUNG GALAXY YOUNG GT-S6310? 'Cause i'm using it. If its compatible, i wanna try to apply your rom master. Pardon me if i'm wrong. And thanks before.

Hi,
I'm afraid that the rom here will not be compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Young GTS6310, that is without you porting it over. This could be as simple as changing some permissions and library files, or a lot more complicated. Does the Samsung Galaxy Young GTS6310 already have a JB4.1.2 CyanogenMod 10 rom built for it? If it does that could make things a lot easier for you.

Any ROM for Alps ICE Xtreme Pro 7" Tab
Hello, I hav ICE Xtreme Pro 7" Royal Edition Tab, which has bricked by me and i m not able to boot now. As it has been rooted, the warrant is void. i m unable to find its stock / custom ROM online. Sir, please help me to find its ROM.
The details of Tab is as follows (as per my best knowledge)
1gb ddr3 ram, 8gb rom, dual core, dual sim calling, JB 4.1.2, Alps yecon77_twn_tb_jb MT8377, karnel 3.4.0.....
other data not remember, as the tab is not accessible.
Please help me if u can.
