Please help me stop ignore - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

MY N4 IS NO LONGER USES AS A PHONE BECAUSE OF A BAD ADVICE I GOT HERE TODAY.
LONG STORY SHORT', MY BASEBAND IS UNKNOWN AND SO IS MY IMEI.
THIS IS THE THREAD THAT CAUSES THIS:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2241343
I KNOW ITS MY RESPONSIBILITY BUT PLEASE DONT IGNORE ME I LOST MY N4!!!

Please don't capitalize your letters in your words. It's an indication that you are yelling and sounds demanding. The folks have tried to help you over there. If the issue can't be solved no matter what you do then I strongly suggest you use your warranty and get a replacement or ask for a fix. Call Google and RMA it. There's no need to double post.
Good luck.

personally i use the .27 radio, i like it better. but, as it was just posted, the .33 radio would be the in between version.

go here and download the NEXUS 4 OCCAM image file. inside it you will see system.img, userdata.img etc..... Flash those along with the radio file and any other image file in the main file you download. USE FASTBOOT ONLY to flash them. find EFRANT's thread regarding how to properly use fastboot. if anything will save it, this should do it
edit: nevermind, missed the post saying he/she got it fixed

Regarding bad advice: I recommended people in the ParanoidAndroid thread to do exactly the same as you in order to update their radio and bootloader. Arguably tens of people followed it plus all the people in the thread I linked, I #N E V E R# heard of anyone experiencing what you did. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38029424
Sorry it went the way it did, glad you have now recovered it.

Except Saturdays, I'm mean then..

Vangelis13 i said b4 i dont blame u, maybe my bad eng is the cause for the 'bad meaning'.
look at my 3rd comment on this thread and try to read it in a good way.
anyway, my phone saved by 27 modem.
im tryin to upgrade the modem anyway to 33 but it leads to same 'baseband: unknown'.
ivv tried to do it as img file on 'root toolkit' (fastboot) and zip from recovery.
what could be the problem that prevent the modem upgrade?
tnx.

No hard feelings, everything cool. If you look at the quote however, it looks a bit like blaming, no..?
Things can always go wrong with flashing; a risk you're hopefully aware of.
On your problem: no clue! It is really weird. Bad antenna perhaps..? Your provider blocking some frequency that the newer radios use (sounds like bsh*t but, who knows..)? I asked in the other thread as well; are you trying to use LTE as your prime band?

Btw.. I also was looking at the thread you posted yesterday and read a thread that someone had linked to help you. In that thread it said that flashing the old radio would get the baseband known again. I thought it would've been a bit pointless just rewriting what it said in the thread.
Anyway, im pretty sure Google updates the radio with every update they release, so you might want to flash your phone back to the android version which has the .27 radio and then accept Google OTA update. Might sound pointless if you can just flash radios and basebands, but it might help.. somehow.

First step is take off battery cover, look for letter/number combinations on the plastic parts of the phone, I think mine is on the bottom right, figure out which variant you have.

Actions speak louder than words, click on my 'thanks' button if you mean it, LOL, JK, ok great, we got a WINNER!!! Now we know which variant you have. OK, looks like you have the x model, from googling it's from Indonesia or something and it's known as a live demo model like you stated. Find out what fw 9505x uses, try sammobile.com or even here, DL it and flash via odin, that would be my next step, I think, I'm still pretty new to this.
Those demo models were not even made for use.. Their firmware has limitations for what I know..

As you can see, odin stops at flashing modem... Demo units don't have modem hardware, so you need firmware without modem, or just download a pre rooted firmware, rename it by removing .md5 extension, so you'll have i9505XXXX.tar, open it with 7-zip, delete NON-HLOS.bin and modem.bin and flash it... Or download a 3/4 part firmware and flash it without modem file. I've flashed lots of i9300x and i9505x like this...

No problem, I dunno man, I've had this phone for less than 2 months, my first smartphone/android ever, so I'm still learning man, str8 up. I AM and consider myself a total newbster, and a lot of newbs here make us newbs look bad by asking for basic simple help that they can look up themselves. Your problem seems pretty serious so I was jus tryin' to look out for you and still will, GL!! If that dude is telling the truth, then you should be able to, he mentioned he did it on A LOT of phones.

[Q] Did I just turn my G2 into a masonary block?

So, I think I've bricked my LS980. Was rooted runing the stock rom happily when I stupidly accepted a LG UIUU? update. Phone rebooted into TWRP recovery and thats all it will do. Didn't make a backup yet because as I alluded to earlier, I'm stupid. When I power off from TWRP it asks to Install Supersu to gain root yet that does nothing. When I boot into download mode it says rooted on the bottom. I have no idea where to go from here. Is there even an option? I'd love to go back to stock and never mention this again... Any idea? Sorry that I suck

Any way to block update requests on stock ROM when you have custom recoveries? That would be a good idea to prevent mishaps.

Unfortunately I think you'll probably need to revert to stock, then. Unless something has changed since I had to do this with my vs980, you will lose all data, but the good news is your phone won't be bricked anymore:

Hey cmm67 I don't know if this will help you but I was trying to get my phone back to stock a couple days ago and was having trouble. Mine would stay in download mode at 0% every time until I retried the instructions for the lgflashtool. I was extracting the file into the LG flash tool folder using Zipeg but once I tried 7zip it seemed to work. Once again sorry if this doesn't help at all I'm writing this from memory (hence being so vague about the instructions) and on my phone. Hope you get it fixed!

If you google you wil come to cf auto root. But in the explanation it says its only for 4.3 or 4.4 bootloader. If you are on 5.0 bootloader its confusing.
So the question is still legit....you dont wanna brick your phone...or do something else wrong.
So google is not always the answer....experience from other users is more important..thats what xda is all about.
So please...think again before posting rubbish. Contribute in the way of helping. If you know how to do it....share.

Hi after flashing a rom not on xda my phone's IMEI became erased. unfortunately the EFI backup that I had wouldn't fix either. I tried going back to stock using SmartSwitch emergency recovery. Still no fixes.
Please help my phone cannot use cellular service!
Any idea Im all ears. I tried various methods for older Galaxys around the xda, none worked.
I know my IMEI and S/N how can I fix it.
Please help!!!!

With all do respect.... I don't think he was bashing anyone....he was just saying he flashed a ROM that wasn't posted to XDA...more than likely there wasn't any other option to ask for help elsewhere since XDA is very helpful with responses from developers and others.
I was wondering if anyone that is overseas (outside america) could share an EFI backup partition with me so I can fix my phone. Maybe that would fix.
keep watching the echorom thread someone else had the issue as well.
I cant they banned me from seeing their forum when I reported the bug.
O I see. If something gets posted that might help I'll let you know. But 1 thing I saw already is trying to flash multiple times with Odin
It might not work the first time. Or the second... or the third. Try like 10 times in the mean time until someone can help. If all else fails there has to be a way to make a working imei again since you know it anyway

It was not because of unlock. My phone was already unlocked. It happened after flashing a bad rom.

write stock rom
This happened to me before in a old Tmobile S3 (T999) I had only edge network...
It was a headache and I was only able to put it back working going to a store that had BOX for flashing and do it myself with their box
and rewrite my IMEI manually during flash, as they were not able to do it (more say didn't have patience) .
I dunno if there is a easier way to do it... but this was how I fixed mine back then. But one thing is true, I lost a lot of time back then trying to fix it and if it happens me now again I would do a quick search and if not quick solution, try to find a guy that owns a box as it will literally save you days and sleep. However there are excellent devs around so they might be able to help..

Would u have any suggestions on where I could go to fix?
Quick question. What csc is in your phone now? Have to tried changing it again with a new one or the one that was originally on it when you got it? Like a flashable zip? Cos it looks like somehow the one you used must corrupt something in the efs... which is bizzare

I went to local store that usually unlocks/fixes phones, but I had a friend connection around.. hence they allowed me to go inside and do it myself.
Try to search 1st around if there is a solution, as it might be... I can't remember how it happened to my phone, but I was flashing lots of ROM without a problem and then it happened for some reason. There is a reason for it, however I couldn't find it as my knowledge is limited. I do remember that I tried, stock, odin, kies, whatever... and nothing worked until I went to try with a BOX.
IF you can't find a quick solution try to search around physical stores that flash phones, as they usually have a BOX and probably they might pull the S7 image already for their box... try to search a friendly one and take the purchase papers with you as most are not very comfortable with anything that might involve IMEI if you odn't know anybody.

It was the German based CSC
G935FDBT1APC5
However I flashed back STOCK which has
G935FNZC1APAX
The bizzare thing is my phone appears to still get a signal, but emergency calls only. When I #06# It shows 00000000000000 for 2 MEIDs. Which is weird as I don't have a dual sim model. This is even after Odin stock, no root.

Fair enough, I still have the original purchase, I got it from overseas, receipt, and sticker still on the phone. Even the box. at the same time i was wondering if anyone overseas, (not in the usa) would be willing to backup EFS and PM me with a G935F because I could use that meid in the usa. I have no intentions of going overseas to Europe anytime soon but I might go abroad if its oceana or Asia.

Pretty Please Help. Bricked S5 and Lost

So, I'm at a total and complete loss as to what to do. I have spent hours upon hours googling, and searching xda and trying step after step after guide after guide and I canNOT fix my S5! I've tried recovery, I've tried Odin and there has got to be something I'm missing. When I plug up the phone into my laptop, it sort of recognizes it, in the sense that it makes the notification noise of it being recognized, as with any external device. Odin picks it up as well. The issue is when trying to boot up the phone, it's stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S5 custom, android etc screen. it will not go past this. i'm almost in tears right now, and just want to get the phone working again. Is there anyone out there that can help???
Tiny update.
So I tried another method, and still having issues. Only difference is, I get past the powered by android screen, but then when getting to the Samsung with the color and oval it freezes and shuts down. One step forward, 2 steps back.
which G900 model do you have? like is it a G900F? Mine is a G900P

it is the 900a (at&t). after spending hours upon hours. i finally managed to do something and get it back to working again. the band and the firm ware match, and i managed to get rid of the unauthorized actions detected message.
good to hear!! (or see, rather LoL) usually a flash in Odin with the correct tarball fixes most issues with S5's

well, let's just say i have a folder of 26 links, majority from here on trying to find a solution on how to root and consequently unbrick my phone when I messed it up. that's probably not even all of them. I only posted on one asking a question, but it was about upgrading the firmware (still waiting on a reply on that, lol). so I have no clue which post it was that was finally successful in restoring my phone.
