And how battery drains looks with CM?
I think you should buy a new one. Search in ebay for HB4F1 (battery model for our phone) for example this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-1500mAh-...819?pt=Batteries_Chargers&hash=item3a74b39ae3

Thanks, I think its bit better with cm, where can I find my model?

Performance and life based on GB is CM 7.2 (ezet) and based on ICS is Aurora v5 (dzo).
I'm on Aurora (v5+u21) and is very good ROM very stable for daily use: wifi is good, BT is working fine and sync right and camera is ok but is nothing to do with rom it's just hardware less capable and video recording is awesome 720p here without lagging or freezing.

tiamat vs IR vs wildmonk vs pershoot

i dont think this has been asked
which kernel works best with cyanogen stable? i mean overall performance, camera, touchscreen, battery and all..
i know different kernels work differently for everyone but id like to know what everyone is using
Pershoots's latest is working great for me. Using nightlies

I use IR when I run CM7 and Tiamat when I run MIUI.
tried tiamat, IR all works well, CM7 stock kernal + ss4n1 -screenstate (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090800).
and now back to CM7 Nightlies stock kernal overclocked to 1113mhz, Performance governor.
Stable and decent battery life (1 full day average use)
between the three, i will go for tiamat
They're all excellent. I've never used IR before so can't comment on that. I used wildmonks while on CM6 plus. Since CM7, I tried pershoot and tiamat. I like them both for supporting undervoltage.
Edit: oops. I put the wrong kernels that support undervoltage mod. They're actually tiamat and IR.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
pershoot runs rock solid and with an excellent battery usage. I had some problems with iR's latest, but maybe it was just my fault.
If i understood right, iR and WM are based on pershoot kernels. Anyway, I can't expect a better performance/battery life than with pershoots.
BTW:
Does someone know, which is the lowest voltage of the newest pershoot?
i think im sticking with wildmonks for now.. its giving me a decent battery life..
the other three dont work too well on my phone with cm7 nightly.
undervolting will save battery but reduce performace right?

[Q] ROM with best battery life (defy)?

Hi there... So guys what is the best ROM for the best battery backup you have used?
P.S post it with your overclocked/undervolted values too ..
Sent from my MB525 using xda premium
CM7 02.01.2011 nightly had great battery life for me and no bugs. Very solid in opposite of two later nightlys.
As for undervolting.. i think that it won't give you much more from lowering screen backlight or disabling data transfer when not needed.
Wajkiui 2.1.20 is great for me atm, aswell as being fast, the battery lasts for ages on mine.

I tried wajkiui and honestly speaking the battery wasn't quite good enough for me but the performance was pretty decent ... How about Ms2Ginger?
I've heard that it has a great battery backup?
Sent from my MB525 using xda premium
I tried most of the roms. I think Ms2ginger 2.1 is best for battery backup. Works great. No bugs.
Ms2Ginger had the best battery life I've ever seen . But hey its stock based. ... . Once you get used to wiui, its hard to shift to any other rom ;D
Wiui 2.2.3
wiui 1.12.16 here. better than wiui 2.x.x as far as battery life is concerned.
edit: i don't like ms2ginger.

+1 : My wiui 2.1.20.1 was also very bad in terms of backup .. So I undervolted & underclocked it . Vsel values are : 300/22 - 600/36 - 900/52 ..it greatly improved the backup but introduced a slight lag in the performance.. so I think this ROM needs to be operated at higher CPU values .. else would produce lag..
Whats your experience with it..

I've tried most of the custom roms available and I can't get my defy to work for more than 24-25 hours of battery life ...and I've seen posts which claims their defy can stay for 2-3 days without charging :/

lol it depends on how you use your phone use it like a ' phone 'and you happily get 2 to 3 days
Use it like a ' smartphone' and even 24 hours seem good
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=34ooufs&s=5
When I used defy as a phone
well, i DO get roughly 5 days with my defy on stock Foryo. but on the other hand i have it undervolted and use it VERY little. some sms a day, a little phoning, some use of bluetooth in my car and in the evening a little internet surfing (about half an hour a day ...).
my personal record is 6 days, but there was a weekend in beetween, when the phone was just idling almost all days long ...
just the last days, i did some gaming and drained the battery in almost one day ...
try white rabbit, i am testing it at this moment and battery is quiete good.
I'm listening to music almost 5 hours day, i phon about 1-2 hours and i send lots of sms about 30-50 per day...
Also use internet and wlan quiete often... lasts about one day in, lets say heavy usage ;-)
Well I use wifi for most of a time ... let's say 4-5 hrs .. mobile data 2G for about 3-4 hrs.. no music .. calls for like 15-20 minutes .. SMS .. not much but yeah whatsapp a Lott.. so . I guess 24 hrs is pretty much what you will get for such usage?

Try Adam's ROM I'm getting similar battery life as in ics
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2
It's most likely not a ROM issue. I tried Adams and CM10 and had similar battery life. Make sure you turn off google now (just the cards that need to know your location constantly). It might also be that your update didn't go that well, so you might try a factory reset. It could also be a misbehaving app, so when you do a factory reset, maybe test the ROM before restoring/reinstalling your apps. Also, the more information you give us the better we can help. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I installed the stock factory image 4.0.4 and then waited for the official OTA. I updated and all works well, but I get around 15 hrs on a full charge with some Whatsapp and Facebook use. When I use it more intense with more screentime the battery drains the most. I think a factory reset wont give me more battery life then this, but I know my drain was not so big while I was on ICS.
By the way, which one is the most stable; CW10 (That chocolate river one??) or Jellybelly?

Sounds weird. But also keep in mind that there are still some apps that don't cope very well with JB, and Facebook has never been Androids best friend . But it doesn't make sense that it's only during screen on, most people report issues related to google now and apps doing **** in the background. If you want to switch ROM anyways, I suggest you use Adams Jellybelly, it's mostly stock (less features means less that can go wrong) and it includes thalamus kernel, which is IMHO the best JB kernel at the moment. I do not recommend any CM10 based ROMs if you're after stability. I assume you checked your battery stats and didn't find anything?
Edit: Chocolate river was abandoned when official OTA came afaik, so definitely Jellybelly . Make sure you do a full wipe though, if something's wrong dirty flashing isn't worth it.

Sounds good to me. Downloading Jellybelly now. I checked my battery stats and didn't find anywhing weird. I dont have much apps installed so there is not much that could give issues. When I leave my screen off (at night or while working) the battery life is not that bad. It's weird, but JB is still very fresh and new, so I'll just try some other roms =)
Agreed jelly belly provides the best performance, stability, and battery life

I am currently on JellyBelly and the battery life is definitely not better than stock for me. Battery drains like crazy when idling.
BUT, I do have Google Now activated. So really make sure to deactivate if you do not need it.
IMO all ROMs should give similar battery life.

Even with Google now turned on the battery should last some time. Do You get the same time as with ICS when it's deactivated? If not, something's borked .
Even if the battery life isnthe same with Jellybelly, the performance is great!

You have every reason to like iPlasm's Phonerty CyanogenMod 9.1. Personaly I have been using it for several months, and it is almost perfect: I do not use GPS (therefore do not know whether it works), but WiFi works flawlessly and the battery life exceeds 5-6 days (I modified CPU settings to SmartassV2 governor with 19 MHz to 806 MHz frequency, and it holds the battery perfectly).
So I recommend that you try this ROM :good:

Did you adjust CPU overclocking settings? You should do this to make your battery live longer. I posted mine above.
And what does the batterry monitor show? Maybe battery drain is because of some 3rd-party applications, which you had installed.
