I use the Typhoon rom too. And used it without flashing anything else for about 4 months .
Anyways, this rom already comes with an a2sd script. U dont need link2sd. The default script in the rom mounts the ext partition. I suggest u uninstall link2sd, and try rebooting. But i think people will probably have better suggestions

Hi,
Sorry if this question gets posted too many times but I am downloaded [12-Sep-201][MAG/cLK][CWM] NDT GINGER V16.0 [CM Nightly 2.3.5][Kernel: Tytung r12] which states A2SD+ is in list of features (and I think this is supposed to use my 1gb ext3 partition as internal memory) but I only have 153mb after installing a few small apps. I know my old rom gave me about 900mb free, and am lost as to how to fix this.
Any help would be great.
Many thanks.
But your SD card got a sd-ext partition?
Try to use "s2e" from the market to enable your sd-ext partition.
i've tried it on the desire of my girlfriend and it works... it is still working
Im having same problem over multiple roms using hyperdroid a2sd+ seems to work fime but tried the experia arc rom and another and both have no a2sd+ although chefs both say its supported
I have totally wiped phone and sd card re-partitioned and formated
i have a 1gb ext3 partition but using a2sdgui gives error saying a2sd script not found or ext partition not found when i do in fact have one ?
You guys could always try flashing A2SD to the ROM from CWM recovery. Just do a forum search for Darktremor A2SD
Use the 2nd to most recent version, the most recent has never worked for me
If you can't find it, let me know and I'll attach it in a post on this thread.
Edit: Got bored and came back and attached it. Just flash it via CWM
thanks very much m8 ill give it a whirl
forgot to mention, after you flash it, go into terminal emulator and enter: a2sd reinstall
it should say a bunch of stuff, then reboot. then it'll take a long time to boot up cause it's moving everything to your ext3 partition and creating symlinks
app2sd is working fine with me.. i have only one issue.. all those apps shifted to ext partition, are auto starting up and i cant disable them!!! i used most of apps that used to block startup apps. but those in ext partition keep showing up and slow down starting up of the device! any idea???

No, you don't have to delete it. The zip should automatically remove any previous scripts.
Hello,
I have a problem with my HD2 Android phone. I have installed Android on NAND. Everything works fine, but I can't install apps because I don't have any memory left. I have just installed 2 apps . If I want to play music, I have to delete all the Youtube data first.
I had tried an other Android NAND version before this one, but it froze at startup. I just installed a other NAND version and it works, but I did not delete the other version. Maybe that the problem? Can anybody help me out?
Thanks,
Wouter
what rom are you currently using?
I am using HTC Runnymede
I recommemd to you making ext4 format on your SD
Data will move to ext4 if rom support to D2Ext
Did u partitioned memory card?

This is the link for the instructions on how to properly install Android on NAND on HD2. I would start from scratch, making sure that you don't skip anything. With a little creative Googling, I was able to find a file called the 'HD2 Toolkit' that gave me all of the programs that I needed to follow the tutorial easily, and make the proper adjustments to my SDCard. Also, using App2SD is a VERY good idea. Although I personally did not run into the same issues that you are having, it seems to me that you've skipped a step somewhere. Good luck!
To add to the above post, yea using ap2sd IS a good idea, most roms support it or a variant of it automatically,,,if they find an ext partition they will use it, so don't go thinking you need to install and configure it, its all automatic.
First time it did not boot. Lets try it again...
Yes! I got it working with RUNNYMEDE 1.11.1113.1 - Sense 3.5 [v2.1][HierOS 1.8.5 noBTfix-2wcr. I will install App2SD and see what it does.
Thank you all for your help!!
Hi. I've got MIUI build 111250 of Android 237, using MagLdr 1.13 and HD2 Toolkit. Despite the options in the HD2 Toolkit to increase the memory on the system partiton, I just can't get all of that memory. I think the best I got was about 300MB. Yes I use Apps2SD... thank God, but I've run out again and wish I could access that last 200MB. Can anyone advise on this?

BTW. I don't want To dual boot to Windows at all. Is there some way/requirement for deleting the Windows partiton? I've already done a wipe before doing the repartition.

dont forget your system partition,. boot partition, cache partition, recovery partition dont show on teh total internal space. only the data partition counts towards it, so that 200 meg you mentioned will be those other partitions.
Hi, guys,
I can't post in the dev forums, so I'm posting here.
I've just flashed the ICS rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354267 on my HD2 and I've left 42 MB of space.
From my experience with my other phone, a Desire, that'll be gone in like a week, event if I don't install big apps, just the basics like Facebook, some data these apps store and so on.
Bottom line, I've formated my SD with an ext4 partition, but I was wondering which Apps2SD app is supported by ICS, as I've tried a few and none worked.
Thanks.
PS: and of course, the most crucial part is that I can't install Field Runners, because the market app says I don't have enough space.
hi all , well am new here and first of all wanna say hello
lets get into subject well ive installed many roms from here on my device and till now i have the same problems
but yesterday i installed gingerbread -3.2 from someone in this form and i thank him allot but every time i wanna install an apk approx greater than ten mgb i get "error parsing package" and that is the first problem i had always encounter since i installed android but now i have noticed that i can normally install apps approx less than 10 mgb so i really need your help with that please
the other problem is tat after some time when i install some applications and i restart my phone i realize that some applications have been deleted from my device menu when i enter app manager i can see a part of it but i can see that it is damaged please note that this also happens with applications downloaded from the net please help me with those 2 problems cause i am really devastated cause of them and thnx for reading this post :good:
it helps when you tell us WHICH rom you are currently using, and also whether or not you are using it with an a2sd (ext partition) script.

i am using the ginger bread nexus hd2 rom but what is a2sd spript i didnt understand that but if it helps am using the nand
Never mind about a2sd, you would know if you had installed it and as far as I know it's obsolete anyway.
It might be coincidence, but I have similiar problem with 40ad2sdx-a2Recovery.zip and PARANOID ANDROID LEO BETA V2.00.
Rather big apps like firefox or chrome cannot be installed (error 492). smaller apps work.
Also the process android.process.media crashes when I try to install bigger apps.
I should have plenty of memory left as ext partition has 1gb size. 588mb are diplayed as available.

I followed the steps suggested in this thread but it didn't change anything,
after about 13mb the download stops
Okey this is odd, I just installed titanium backup, because I thought that a full backup and wipe might help.
Here's what titanium says in the main menu:
system-Rom: 262MB (115mb free)
Internal: 959mb (661mb free) {I thought nand size is 512mb? Or is this my ext-partition?}
SD-card 14.8gb (14.3gb free)
SD-card (A2SD): 158mb (6.09mb free) {no good, my ext partition should have 1gb, or is this the internal memory? Why is it almost full?}
its the script you are using, rather than simply moving stuff to the ext (which it still does) and creating symbolic links, at boot it mounts the sd-ext partition as the systems data partition, and the internal data partition gets mounted as the sd-ext partition, so android sees them swapped over. Result = 'internal' shows the actual ext size, and the sd-ext a2sd shows teh internal data partition size.
As to why there is data on both the ext and the internal, , again, depends on the script, , the one i use moves only the apps and dalvik cache to the ext, so they show up under the /data/ in a file manager, but the other stuff (user data, txts and such i assume) remains on the internal and can be seen under /sd-ext/ in a file manager, whereas other scripts move the entire /data/ to sd-ext, in which case tehre should be very little in the internal data partition.
(Thats probably only a partially correct, over simplified explanation, i don't really know the mechanics of it, but i did notice exactly the same recently, and the maths works out too)
The script, that I used, left a 100mb dalvik-cache folder in sd-ext. How can I move this to the real sd-card?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda app-developers app
It also appears that you have an overly large partition size for your ROM. I'm guessing that your /system partition was supposed to be 150MB but yours is 262MB You're basically wasting 115MB of potential storage. I'm not sure if you somehow accidentally created a bigger partition or if you did it intentionally so that you can flash different ROMs without worrying about repartitioning, but if you want it to be as efficient as possible then you should reduce the /system partition.
Ok so i have to repartition and format. I can do that when I need to wipe for a new rom update.

1st YES YOU HAVR STOCK KERNEL
2.ITS ACTUALLY NOT JB, Jellybeast ROM is a THEMED GB ROM.BUT ITS TRUELY AWESOME AND WORTH TRYING
3.If you are installing Any Custom ROM 1st make a NAND backup of your stock Rom Because Before flashing you might need to do a FULL WIPE/RESET
USING XDA APP ON SONY XPERIA U st25i
Before partitioning the sd card just make a backup in your pc because it will format the card
Flashing this will format your internal memory so make a backup of your contacts and messages etc
And Just follow all the instructions carefully and enjoy

yeah this is good CWM by skin works almost 99% whereas CWM by madteam has got some glitches :/ but i don't really know the proper method to flash CWM by skin so i posted madteam CWM
and ext partition size mostly depends on you app usage and SD card size..
if you are a heavy gamer and install lotta apps then 1GB ext is enuf.. else 512MB is fine.. select SWAP size atleast 64MB or more.. some rom's makes use of SWAP and use it as secondary RAM

i mean it will become useless
is that true ??

we all know that galaxy y suck
low ram , low internal memory , old android version
after rooting i can increase everything but its safe ???
using a part of sd card as ram , as internal & external memory at same time ????
m not sure its safe or not
& even if its save what class SD card should a buy ???
i am thinking to but a 16 GB class 10 sanddisk micro sd card is it ok ???
& the partition will be
m assuming that 14 Gb will be usable space
i will use 4 GB as ram , 5 GB as internal & will use left space as external storage
is that possible ??
Yes it is possible. I think you should buy 16 gb class 10 sd card remember class 10 sd card. Dont worry all galaxy y models supports 32 gb sd card also.

It's a bug in the kernel if you are using the cm7 kernel
It shows system is mounted when it's not
Unmount system and remount system
Make sure you format system then mount system
-Unmount system and mount it again
However as you are flashing hyperion 9 which is stock based you should be using a stock based kernel
Either way the reason why it only flashes for 1 sec is because system is not mounted
If system is mounted it will display "Unmount System"
If it says "Mount System" select it so it changes to "Unmount System"
