Okay so I have a nexus 4. I love its, fast, great build quality, and gets the fastest updates. But I'm in love with the Samsung galaxy features like pop up play and smart stay, so I think I may switch. But should I get the galaxy s3 or s4. The only reason why I didn't get it before was because I don't like having the same phone as everyone else.

At this point you should get the S4 unless since its the better phone. But if you don't wanna spend more money than the S3 is a fine phone. You could also check out the note 2 which is a fantastic phone as well.

So I have had my Galaxy Nexus GSM imported model (ATT in the US) and while I do like it, the Note is interesting to me.
Anyone have/had both and preferred the Note? If so, why?
I could sell the GNEX and get the Note for little cost to me. It's tempting...

Yes I have both /gsm. Much prefer the note. Its the whole phone, pen, screen size for movies
I just love it
Best Phone
The only thing you have to watch out with a note (if you're an average user not a modder like most people) is the size of the thing...
Other than that, you have nothing else to complain about... :victory:
This phone is the beast! :highfive:
I own both nexus and note (note 2x).. Also a gtab 10.1 a gtab 7plus an lg o2x and so far the best device its the note.. But there's only 3 days left for note 2(Wich I'm getting on day 1).. Why not to wait for it?

I love the Note...but I doubt my next phone will be a phone of this screen size. It gets tiring after a while. Lol.
I'm also never buying a non-Nexus device again after this.
I have just given my Note to my wife and got a GNex . As much as I like the Note it was just too big for my use. Also I craved aosp and CM on the Note was never fully functional for me.

I really like the Note. I really REALLY do! IF the Note 2 offers a big jump in tech, then I'll get it. All logic points to a no. We're looking at an SGS3 (which is a great phone, but maybe not worthy of an upgrade if you already have a Note) with a larger screen and an SPen.
I would like to wait and see what the next Nexus devices look like and have in stock for us. Hopefully The SGS3 in a Nexus form would be good hehe. 4.8" display would be a good compromise.
help do i swap my iphone for a galaxy s please can you give a reson why
thanks bob
no, don't. you should wait for galaxy s 3. or if you can't wait, just buy galaxy nexus.
but it is just a straight swap my iphone feals realy slow

Nothing, it's working perfectly using the Teamhacksung CM9 alpha. It's beautiful. I wouldn't swap an iPhone 4S for it, but any other model (even an iPhone 4, probably) yes I would.
(I did the same as you, I managed to swap my HTC Desire for a Galaxy S a month ago - it runs Ice Cream Sandwich beautifully - cos it's so similar to a Nexus S)
thanks just one or two more people to confirm that a galaxy s i better than an 3gs and i will swap it i did have a htc wildfire but is was just too slow and now i think that my 3gs is too slow just need more speed vrum vrum

If you come from a 3gs, you can blindly swap it for a SGS and you will notice a world of difference...
Bye
L.
go for it.
well i have had both phones and got way more out of my sgs compared to the iphone3gs.... my 3gs is now a paper weight cause my sgs is still a very great phone... i say go for it
cool thanks guys swapping at 6:30 will post when back
back now sofar wow thanks guys now for the fun part begins
Just for anyone's sake, here's my opinion:
If you are looking for something "like" the iPhone 3GS but "Faster", get an iPhone 4 or 4S. Personnaly, I hate the iOS and the way it's closed to everything BUT the mighty apple, but still, if you like the way they are, well, it's the only thing that "is" an iPhone
But if you like something you can mold, play with, set as you like. Well, the Galaxy S is the best of it's generation. Pretty easy to root and to cusromise, easy and well built rom, amazing display, fast CPU and GPU, the only thing better than SGS is the Nexus S, but it's still the same hardware so it's only a software related "better"!
Anyway, please post your feedback!
You can do everything you want on SGS.is practically unbrickable[no matter what you do you still have a backdoor called 'download mode' to undo your phone.apps are free.on the other hand on iphone you have to set every site for apps and of course..a noob in iphones can totally screw it.(sorry for my bad english)

Thats my main question... Cause I really want the Galaxy Note. HUGE 5.3" screen is awesome, but I love the new features coming to the S3, like wireless charging, or taking pictures @ the same time as recording a video. So if some features from the S3 are coming to the Galaxy Note I will get the Galaxy Note cause I love big Screens!

Wireless charging? that require hardware modifications so it is up to you if you want to add that yourself using one of the guides that you can find by searching xda.
About the software, a lot will be ported to the note eventually but don't expect anything to come out of Samsung. They won't be able to sell the new galaxy s3 if you can find most of its features somewhere else ie in the note.

Never going to happen. As the first reply suggests, it would be marketing suicide for the s3 if Samsung gave an older and cheaper product with already brilliantly unique perks (Note) the same software as their latest product (s3).

Hello guys!
Its been a real pleasure being with Nexus S
Its a great cell phone, I love it but now I am at point where I have to change my cell phone, now I wanna buy a LG Nexus 4 but it has not come in my country yet and i dont know when would it come..
So that and the price factor gives me a choice to have either Galaxy Nexus or Galaxy S II (Yes 2 not 3 )
now in my head i dont need fast updates because i always use a custom rom and i am ok with even a lower one,
I have used GB in nexus s even though i tasted JB
So the updates are not a problem for me, I just want a cell phone that can last me at least a year with a nice play for the upcoming games or anything else like that.
What would you advise me to buy? GSII or GNex?
If some other with the same specs or better but with same price factor then kindly let me know..
Can't go wrong with either. If you care about roms then the gnex would be the best since it will get the major android updates til the software is to much for the hardware.

+1.
Seriously, choosing between the GNex and the S2? That's not fair because the S2 was released by Samsung to steal market from the Nexus S after releasing the latter. (IMHO, the S2 is just a Nexus S on steroids). Now if you are choosing between the GNex and the S3, that would be a better comparison, the S3 is better in hardware but would take 10 years to get an update compared to the Gnex, but like you said, if you're happy with ROMs like CM or AOKP, then it would probably matter less.

GNex.
GNex would probably be a better choice. It's a pretty great phone.
There will only be one upgrade for me and that will be the s3.
I love the Nexus brand but a Wolfson DAC is a must for me in any new phone.
I'm happy now with my NS. But in a few years I will get the s3.

The SGSII and the GNex are extremely similar. The GNex has a slightly lower pixel density on the camera, but a little larger screen.
If you're in love with AOSP roms, the GNex will be the way to go. If you just want another phone and have the money to blow on a good SD and such, then go SGSII.
I contacted one of the market dealer today and he said that in a few weeks they would have LG Nexus 4
If that comes then i would go for it else I would buy Gnex then
Thanks all for help

Guys i need a little help. I am replacing my lovely nexus s.
My candidates are
Nexus 4
Galaxy S4
HTC ONE
Galaxy S3
Today i tried an S3 and a HTC ONE and an S4 (i9505) and a n4.
I love the S4 the design i think is much better than the s3, but the ONE has the best design, but i never buy a phone just 4 the design. And it is impossible to replace anything on the HTC One. The camera is not so good either, but the microphone and the stabilization is realy an useful extra. And HTC is never too good on updating its software. N4 is is a good all rounder, but the camera is crap The screen was insanely nice in the s4. My problem is that the s4 browser lagged like hell, i loaded up the verge desktop as my usual test page and during loading it was all choppy and unresponsive even the s3 was much faster! Not to menion my nexus 7 almost my dated nexus s was more responsive.... Maybe the demo phone does not had the final software? Can somone with a stock i9505 can try theverge? Please tell me how the browser behaves on a final s4? thx
I'd suggest you go with the s4. The lag was due to firmware not being ready. Chances are the model you will buy will probably not lag. And even if it does it will be fixed with an update. The s4 has the best hardware around right now, no doubt about that. The htc one is also a great phone and you won't regret buying either of them. I wouldn't buy the nexus 4 or s3 though.

S3 would be only because of price but i dont realy like compromise What you have against the nexus? Do you have the s4?
You may want to ask this in a general section and not in any sub forum as you will get biased replies to whichever forum you ask in. If you have decided to ask here it sounds like you are leaning towards the S4. The One at the moment sounds like the smoothest but if you want/need an external battery and SD slot you should probably go for the S4. The Ones camera isnt bad, its not as good as the S4 in daylight but better in low light. I'd go into a store again then compare the One & S4 to see which one you really like.

I imagine what is in the store is final retail. I have never seen any device in store running pre-release hardware or firmware. What you see is what you get.
You'll get different views.
If software is important I'd recommend the nexus 4 as you'll get key lime pie before any Samsung or HTC device. It's not bloated with features, it's simple stock Android fast and functional.

Then i will go to another store and try it as if the s4 would behave that much slower as the s3 i would expect lots of people complaining
Only options in my eyes would be the S4 or the One. I have had both, the One first but I had to switch to the S4 as every single unit I found had stuck pixels among other faults. Aside from that it is a great phone, but if you do consider one then make sure you get a good one before you leave the shop!
Alternatively, absolutely no regrets going to the S4 instead.

The camera on the one is a fair bit better in the 1.29 update, check out some comparison reviews. Also, in terms of software updates, I read a piece somewhere that showed pretty categorically that HTC have the best history of updates.

Well lack of expandable storage along with the maximum option being a 16 gb version is the dealbreaker. I have a 16 gb s3 + 32 gb micro sd and I tend to fill that up with music and movies so I wouldn't be able to survive on just 16 gb. Theres also the battery life which doesn't seem to be that great along with it being non removable though I could probably live with it if it was only just that. I don't have the s4 right now. Still trying to decide between the s4 and one...

I have seen that too and HTC is realy better in updating non flagship devices for example the galaxy w does not even get updated from 2.3, but s2 the former flagship got 4.1.2 and wil get 4.2.2 and the HTC sensation remained on 4.0.4. But if someone replaces phone every year that does not realy matter
