Google Music App messed up my music. What do?? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So i uploaded all my itunes playlist songs to google music using music manager and then downloaded those songs into my nexus 4 using the google music app.
However there is a serious problem.
Some of the songs are completely different. Like i listen to a specific song and it plays some random song i have never ever heard of and not even remotely close to the song title.
Or some songs it plays a different version of the song... like the same song but by different artists even though i never had any of those songs in my computer.
And thirdly, even if some songs are the right songs, the swear words get censored!!! WTFF!!!! GOOGLE swapped my explicit music with some PG-rated retard music that censors every swear word even though the original song in my computer doesn't.
Why the hell is google messing with my songs and how can i stop it?

Bump. Album covers are also jumbled up.

Lol
Do you have issues using other music players too? Try Apollo.

No problem with Apollo because I have to directly transfer music on to it. But I lose all my playlists I made using iTunes which was transferred over in the same state by Google music. I can't play music on Apollo from Google music, none of the music I downloaded show up

First off watch the language.
Second android has issues with everything apple and that includes iTunes play lists and songs gotten with it. This was done on purpose by apple.

That makes no sense. I uploaded songs to Google music and when I downloaded them, how can some of them be completely different just because I used iTunes playlists?

Bump

You were given the explanation, and you reply "That makes no sense".
So I don't think bumping the thread will solve your problem. Might as well re-read zelendel's post.

I dont think you can do that with google music and keep the same playlists.
please tell me if that is possible.

Although I do not personally know the correct answer to your question, I do believe whatever issues Android has with iTunes file format is only compounded by you trying to transfer play lists. Try the songs alone and see if that works first.

Have you tried doing it on a stock rom as from your sig you are using a CM rom. CM changes alot of the coding from what Google releases with the Nexus.

Certainly possible. Just copy all your music files/folders in a forlder named 'Music' on your sdcard. After that, the music app will pick all of them.

Doesn't work

You are making sure none of them are DRzm right as is states it will not work with files that have DRM.

That maybe part of your issue. As Google takes a strong stand against it. At this point at am out of suggestions. There is one with same device that has it working. And replied to this thread. So might need to see what the diff is.
You might have been better off not mentioning they were pirated as XDA doesn't condone pirated anything.

Any way to play protected music on the Vibrant?

Is there a way to play protected music on the vibrant? Mines rooted and im willing to install a diff. media player or something but i have a ton of music but its all protected. Any ideas?
convert the songs
unfortunately, there are not any real good ways I know of, maybe someone else might have a better way, but way does work:
record the music on the computer while listening to it.You can download a"what you hear" from creative if you have a sound blaster or any other that works the same. It will allow you to record in mp4, mp3 . After that name the file and load on to your phone. That is the only way i know of
Like iTunes music? If so I recommend iSyncr from the market. Syncs music and playlists and videos from iTunes to your music player.
P.s. its only Like 2.99

Convert it using dbpoweramp. Should work just fine. You can't create mp3s with the free version but you can create ape & flac from source.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Convert the mp3 in a third party software, that will remove the protection. You can also burn it to a cd then transfer it back to itunes.

Yourw screwed because different work-arounds may or may not work with different DRM types. People who are media focused can always do themselves a favor amd grt netter media devices lile those which run WM 6.5, WP7, iOS, or even Symbian.
The lack of support for certain DRM (iTunes and Zume, most notably) is a particular sore point for Android. maybe Google's Music store will change that in the future.

Mind telling us what kind of protection the music has? There will likely be a program that strips the DRM from the file out there in the wild wild web....

Good gawd. How annoying.
Honestly I have no experience with this issue because I do not use itunes, but since I found the concept of not being able to play the music you have purchased where you want, I have done a small amount of research for you.
I found this page that has some helpful methods to get your protected itunes files converted to .mp3. The most practical being a piece of software called Jhymm.
It can be found here. It requires you to have a version of itunes prior to v6, but the should be obtainable.
Good luck.
U should also take a look at Tunebite, this one as far as I recall is able to remove the drm protection from Itunes.
U could use it to convert the protected iTunes music to mp3, might just solve the problem for u.

The fact that iTunes and Zune even USE DRM is the problem.
Get your music from Amazon and you'll have real MP3s. Not DRM'd crap.

[Q] google music beta syncing

Hey everybody,
Just curious if there was an ability to listen to the songs without dl'ing them to your phone... a streaming feature if you will. I think I had heard there was but I may have been hearing about something other than the google music beta.
Thanks

Google = ad company = "free" stuff you don't necessarily want. Although spare a thought for those out side the US, where Google music is not available to be annoyed by, other than by the fact of its absence.

Um...some of those songs are good. =.3
But those are the free music. Google usually ask me if I want to add more free songs. In Music.Google.Com (because I still can type it lyk that) you have the option to delete the songs. It may seems lyk an impractical method to do delete them one at a time, but it's the only thing I can think of.
I just make playlist, so they really don't bother me. LoL!!

You can delete the songs from Google Play Music from your desktop.
Btw, it supports Ctrl and Shift-clicking, so you can kill off all the free songs at once

Google music is very easy to set up (in the UK). Once setup you can use it as in the US on all your devices (up to 10)
Yeah, and so long as this free crap doesn't contribute to our 20k limit, it's just digital clutter.
Making a playlist in the Google Music app is a breeze, just make a playlist. I just we had the option for making smart playlists in here like in iTunes (my smart playlists can't get uploaded either, and they're what I use most in iTunes).

Best music player app?

I have a sony Xperia zl and music with the walkman app sounds amazing. Got the s4 now and using the winamp app music quality is poor. Please suggest the best music player for the s4.
Is there a way we can install Sony's walkman app on the s4?
Is rocket player app good?

Google "sony walkman apk" and you will be flooded with results

Be carefull tho...domt wanna brick your device so I suggest at kost just installing the apk...wouldnt try the build.prop edits or other stuff yet
That version def requires more than just the app...but you can find standalone walkman apks on the web although they may be older versions

Only prob with power amp is that it jas a terrible shuffle system...go to the albums, then click on a song in an album...it finishes and shuffles and plays some random song from some other artist...I just wanted to listen to the album. Of cours you can long press the album and click play and that does the trick but to me thats just a hassle...idk maybe its been fixed as power amp didnt always have this problem...but that problem sure did chase me away

A little off topic but can any of the players mentioned here play tracks continuously? I have an album that contains songs mixed by a DJ but are separated into 25 tracks. The default player on the S4 always leaves a gap of about 1-2 seconds before moving onto the next track. Would like to be able to listen to the album without the silent gaps.

They all have trials - download and try them. I was using PlayerPro before I switched to Remix, but I tried all of them before I bought. I'm pretty sure PlayerPro and PowerAmp both allow changing the fade between songs.

Stock music player vs Google player

So, like a few days ago i made a comparison between these, and the stock player sounded a lot better than the google one, at max volume ofc, but now i cant see a difference, can anyone confirm if there are any differences?
Im only talking about phone speakers, not earphones or anything
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Haven't really compared since I like the HTC app better but I would imagine the stock app would sound better since it's probably tuned for the phones speakers. The Google app is probably just a flat EQ.
I think HTC stock is better cause the shuffle option, it creates a whole new playlist instead of shuffling the musics on its own, doing that sometimes it repeats the same music.
Maybe this is mentioned a hundred times already, but I noticed very early on that flac plays much louder than anything else.
Could it be that different formats threw you off at some point?
Also, folder playback is available on htc player, big advantage for me.

Hmm i tested the same song, and the htc player sounded better, but like i said now i cant see a difference. Ill try a flac file when i get home,
And why this bothers me is because i bought some songs on the play store and yeah...... I also dont like the scrolling sense has, it doesnt bother me in blinkfeed or smth, but it does in the music app.

but doubleclick on Google Music switch to next track and on HTC Player calss last dialed number, for me it is a dealbreaker
holding down button seems to generate some kind of error, displays "Initializing" forever
but only on locked screen, on unlocked it launches Google Voice Search propertly

Some of us have more.... er... eclectic tastes in music for Spotify. Not too mention I prefer uncompressed flac over Spotify any day. But hey, not everyone is an audiophile.
Listening to flac on a phone isn't audiophile. It's sounds cool though.

This is the reason I can't use the stock player even if I want to. The lack of "skip track" control with my headphone controls. Shame.
I use Google music all access so I don't have much of a choice. But having pretty much any song I want to listen to ever is worth it
Never used Google player, i am pretty happy with the stock one!
