Any way to play protected music on the Vibrant? - Vibrant General

Is there a way to play protected music on the vibrant? Mines rooted and im willing to install a diff. media player or something but i have a ton of music but its all protected. Any ideas?

convert the songs
unfortunately, there are not any real good ways I know of, maybe someone else might have a better way, but way does work:
record the music on the computer while listening to it.You can download a"what you hear" from creative if you have a sound blaster or any other that works the same. It will allow you to record in mp4, mp3 . After that name the file and load on to your phone. That is the only way i know of

Like iTunes music? If so I recommend iSyncr from the market. Syncs music and playlists and videos from iTunes to your music player.
P.s. its only Like 2.99

Convert it using dbpoweramp. Should work just fine. You can't create mp3s with the free version but you can create ape & flac from source.

Convert the mp3 in a third party software, that will remove the protection. You can also burn it to a cd then transfer it back to itunes.

So,e DRM doesn't allow you to burn the music to CD. May work for some people though...

Yourw screwed because different work-arounds may or may not work with different DRM types. People who are media focused can always do themselves a favor amd grt netter media devices lile those which run WM 6.5, WP7, iOS, or even Symbian.
The lack of support for certain DRM (iTunes and Zume, most notably) is a particular sore point for Android. maybe Google's Music store will change that in the future.

Mind telling us what kind of protection the music has? There will likely be a program that strips the DRM from the file out there in the wild wild web....

Good gawd. How annoying.
Honestly I have no experience with this issue because I do not use itunes, but since I found the concept of not being able to play the music you have purchased where you want, I have done a small amount of research for you.
I found this page that has some helpful methods to get your protected itunes files converted to .mp3. The most practical being a piece of software called Jhymm.
It can be found here. It requires you to have a version of itunes prior to v6, but the should be obtainable.
Good luck.

U should also take a look at Tunebite, this one as far as I recall is able to remove the drm protection from Itunes.
U could use it to convert the protected iTunes music to mp3, might just solve the problem for u.

The fact that iTunes and Zune even USE DRM is the problem.
Get your music from Amazon and you'll have real MP3s. Not DRM'd crap.

[Q] digital copy on vibrant

does anyone know of a way to watch the digital copy movies that come with my bluray or dvd movies on my vibrant? i have some already on my computer and i transfered them to a folder named movies on my vibrant but a window came up that said it was unable to play file. i'm guessing it's something with the security with the digital copy but does anyone know of a way around it?
I have been using Videora Android Converter [google it].
In the stickied FAQ there is another program. Make sure to play with the settings to pump out max quality.
Good luck!
Videora removes DRM?

If you're going to remove DRM, which is a copy violation in itself, you may as well torrent the movie you want to watch. Less hassle IMHO.

I just doubt it is a DRM issue, probably a format issue. However, I don't know why it wouldn't remove DRM.

Handbrake will not work for files containing DRM either. There are two types of Digital Copy one is windows based and will work on all devices labeled as "Playsforsure" and the other is iTunes based for all the "i" devices.
Instead of trying to convert the digital copy the op would have better luck just converting the actual disc.
Well it seems like ripping the movie from the dvd is the easiest way. I did try ripping before but the audio was slightly off. Do you think its something with the vibrant or the ripping software? Does anyone know a good free dvd ripper?

Try makemkv, it'll rip your dvd into a mkv container. You can use ripbot264 after that to convert it into somthing smaller that will play well on the Vibrant.

Best music player

Hey guys just wondering what everyone is using for a music player? I am using winamp right now, but if there is a better one out there I'd gladly give it a test run

Try poweramp. That's the one I use
+1 to poweramp
MortPlayer
PowerAMP is the single winner, no competition. Use it all the time with my Bluetooth stereo in my car. Sounds amazing and has great options and equalizer.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
PowerAMP or bust. Just buy it, don't bother looking at other so-called "solutions".
Poweramp......although the player audiogalaxy uses is passable....of only it had an eq

Poweramp is good but if you don't want to pay to keep it then I'd recommended zimly which is free.

³ (Cubed) is the one i use most. Though i prefer the wall or morph flow view. the cube view is just kind of a gimmick

If you have a large amount of organized, but badly tagged MP3's - Mortplayer is the way to go.
Its the only "Folder-based" music player I've found, yet.
I don't know about you, but I hate loading my MP3's into other apps only to find duplicate albums, albums with 1 song in them, 10 versions of the same artist because the tags differ in capitalization... Don't even get me started on my Electronica genre, adding it makes any list of artists or albums so unwieldy large its frustrating.
I do, however, organize my MP3's in a directory structure - so Mortplayer lets me browse the Genre folders and then pick artists to listen to.
+1 Poweramp! It just works!

Better music player than sense 3.0 one?

I kinda hate the UI on the thing, browsing for music is complicated to say the least.
What are other music player options available for android? I would prefer something free but if its a paid app I'm willing to pay for it.
Also some of my music has incorrect album info, any way to edit this on the phone manually?
Thanks guys
I use PlayerPro from the market. It's a paid app but well worth it. Very easy to navigate and you can edit the song tags in the app.
Can I edit stuff for example, I Have two songs from The Killers, one says the artist is TheKillers (without the space)?. This causes 2 different artists to pop up
Going to start reading some reviews.
I'll give another Hell YA on PlayerPro. No matter what rom i'm on i HAVE to have playerpro. its one of the apps that solidified my love for android and its customizability. PlayerPro is literally the PERFECT media player.
EDIT: and yes, you can edit all the info and tags on all your media very easily
sweet, going to download the trial when I get home later, may end up purchasing it
Poweramp is one of the best out there, unfortunately its paid
definitely worth it however
I use cloudskipper. It's free and has a built in equalizer and pretty sweet lockscreen controls

poweramp.. all the way! paid but well worth it. If the song has lyrics, it will scroll em. If you want it loud, use the preamp. If you want it REALLY LOUD, QPST mod!!!
Never heard ANY phone this loud!!!
PowerAmp is dope, been my fave since the day I loaded it. I'll have to check out Player Pro, looks clean.

+1 for PlayerPro.
I could tell you a million things that I love about it (and why I chose it over PowerAmp), but I'll let you try out the trial and decide for yourself.
The PlayerPro trial will play music past the seven days, but it loses functionality. Read the reviews for the paid one along with the trial - but take some of the trial reviews lightly, some people are using it past the trial period and it isn't working to its full potential.

I agree. I too have tried many of the music players and I kept going back to PowerAmp. Great music player. Lots of settings. Easy to use. The ability to sort by folder is awesome.
Google music beta is kinda cool. No issues so far. Even has search option. But no controls on lockscreen.

ONE WORD!!!
Poweramp, poweramp, poweramp.....ok 3 words

Google Music App messed up my music. What do??

So i uploaded all my itunes playlist songs to google music using music manager and then downloaded those songs into my nexus 4 using the google music app.
However there is a serious problem.
Some of the songs are completely different. Like i listen to a specific song and it plays some random song i have never ever heard of and not even remotely close to the song title.
Or some songs it plays a different version of the song... like the same song but by different artists even though i never had any of those songs in my computer.
And thirdly, even if some songs are the right songs, the swear words get censored!!! WTFF!!!! GOOGLE swapped my explicit music with some PG-rated retard music that censors every swear word even though the original song in my computer doesn't.
Why the hell is google messing with my songs and how can i stop it?
Bump. Album covers are also jumbled up.
Lol

No problem with Apollo because I have to directly transfer music on to it. But I lose all my playlists I made using iTunes which was transferred over in the same state by Google music. I can't play music on Apollo from Google music, none of the music I downloaded show up
First off watch the language.
Second android has issues with everything apple and that includes iTunes play lists and songs gotten with it. This was done on purpose by apple.

That makes no sense. I uploaded songs to Google music and when I downloaded them, how can some of them be completely different just because I used iTunes playlists?

You were given the explanation, and you reply "That makes no sense".
So I don't think bumping the thread will solve your problem. Might as well re-read zelendel's post.

I dont think you can do that with google music and keep the same playlists.
please tell me if that is possible.
Although I do not personally know the correct answer to your question, I do believe whatever issues Android has with iTunes file format is only compounded by you trying to transfer play lists. Try the songs alone and see if that works first.

Certainly possible. Just copy all your music files/folders in a forlder named 'Music' on your sdcard. After that, the music app will pick all of them.

That maybe part of your issue. As Google takes a strong stand against it. At this point at am out of suggestions. There is one with same device that has it working. And replied to this thread. So might need to see what the diff is.
You might have been better off not mentioning they were pirated as XDA doesn't condone pirated anything.

Check out Gonemad Music Player, I've tried a lot and this suits me, you can browse by artist, album - and folder. All very easily, all the controls are intuitive. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gonemad.gmmp
For a slightly more off the wall approach, with very good audio, try Xenoamp http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822492
