Thanks for the suggestion. I am already using Equalizer and Voodoo Louder. What i meant was direct hardware based sound amplification (louder sound) rather than software based tweaks.
Stumbled on this, thought some audiophiles around here might wanna give it a try. Haven't tested yet myself but I will be!

Im sorry but iBeats and Beats period sucks.
For 150$ pair of earphones that the bass isn't even that good which is what their meant for and it goes in n out in one ear. ha for 75$ get the Klipsch s4 their the best for the bass and top of the line klipsch for earphones when it comes down to bass. And very durable.

Or some $10 in-ear headphones, almost all of these have great bass and clear audio since they don't have to be as amplified since they're closer to your ear drum.

Doesn't matter. My nexus one is not a wolfson but sounds better than my international SGS3 with wolfson. There is a lot more to sound quality than just the DAC type.

Engadget did mention audio quality but no mention of wolfson DAC.
The audio quality on both phones is terrific. The external speakers (when placing calls and listening to multimedia) were more than sufficiently loud, and we were impressed by the fact that we could hear many of the music's little nuances -- bass and treble tones came out quite clear. Plugging in the headphones offers a very similar and equally pleasant experience, giving us wonderful clarity in our favorite tunes.

This is great news. My GF is on the fence about the next iPhone and the SGS3, with the Wolfson DAC, I can assure her the sound quality will be what she wants. I've already showed her she doesn't need iTunes to sync playlist with the Android, well technically we will since we'll need to import her playlists.

Go download Volume Booster from the play store. I included the link at the bottom.
After some trial and error this one seems to work the best on the galaxy s4. I turned it on and had to immediately turn my media volume down because it was too loud lol.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.liquidsoft.entertainment.volume.booster
None of those apps have any effect. Volume booster just jumped my volume slider all the way up, which is where it was already. Im coming from the htc one...and that phone definitely pushed my headphones with the same chipset. I dislike having to max the volume because it introduces distortion. Guess ill have to try faux kernel out

I mean the Samsung music app, combined with adapt sound sounds great in my headphones. Did you try that?
I think all EVO3d users jumped ship from HTC to Samsung because of that phone. No amount of roms or tweaks can save that phone.
Not sure if it still works.been out of the game for a while. You can try qpst. Its qcom. You'll need to download drivers. Don't mess around with it if you aren't very sure what you're doing. Not very user friendly. You can really mess things up. Cool program though.

I always like to look at their endurance ratings... and I'm surprised that the M8 is nearly the same as the Note 3, and higher than the G2. Hopefully it holds up in practice =\

Same here that camera is a huge barrier to its purchase.
I'm very happy with the performance of the old camera, it's the only one getting my kids without Blur. But... I was hoping for a combined pic of he two to at least 8. There is a time when you want to zoom, not often but it happens. Probably will go for it but I don't understand how hey did think there.

We'll have to wait and see but I am a little concerned about this part too. I have shaky hands which is one of the reasons I loved the camera on the M7. The camera is probably the least important feature for me but when I do want to use it, I need to be able to get good shots the first time which is what the M7 offered me.

It's not ois but shutterspeed that makes the Blur go away in Ok light. Ois is good when using slower shutterspeeds, but the camera is good at keeping those down if it not to dark. I could be wrong, it happens
