Info on Red Screen Brick - 7" Kindle Fire HD General

Hello everyone! This is just info on a brick that I have just encountered. It happens when you flash a unsigned boot.img onto your deviec. For example, this happened to me when I was installing TWRP on my KFHD 7.3. I flashed a Freedom Bootloader for 7.2.3 on my 7.3 KFHD.
To fix it: Acquire a good factory "fastboot" cable
Use either Kindle fire first aide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36647251)
or this tool ( I used this one) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254)
to restore your kindle. KFFirstaide works for all types of Kindle fire (KF2, KFHD, KFHD8.9) while the second works only for KFHD 7".
Have fun with your unbricked Kindle!

[Q] Any Suggestions?

I recently rooted my kindle no problems and installed android market and TWRP with no problem using kindle fire utility but one day i accidently pressed 4 on the Kindle fire utility and it did the stock update.zip on my kindle and i lost my root + TWRP recovery but regained root access by using kindle utility again but i cant seem to get TWRP back on there. every time i go to press 5 for install twrp it says TWRP img found and tries to install but i end up waiting forever and i power off and on like it says any suggestions?
I was never able to get TWRP to install with KFU. I eventually gave up using KFU and just installed it manually, which isn't hard to do at all:

a few notes on the link: there is a typo in there, make sure you type adb. another suggestion i'd make is to put the img in the platform-tools folder

[Q] Bootloop in TWRP

So unfortunately i clicked reboot into recovery under CM7 and i am now in a bootloop. also unfortunately i dont have my laptop which has everything i already need to just type in the 4000 commmand. im also having difficulty installing the sdk platform 2.3.3 api 10. is there any way for me to get out of the boot loop?
Look here, this might help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1422832
Use the kindle fire utility and reinstall twrp
1 turn kindle off
2 run kindle fire utility
3 install twrp
4 plug in kindle
5 follow instructions on screen

[Q] kindle not detected on adb but usable as mass storage

hi
i have a kindle fire which i rooted and installed cm7 ... that one works perfrectly.. i decided to root my friends kindle ... but when i tried to root it adb doesnot detect the device.... on the same pc my kindle is detected by adb but the new kindle is not detected......
i dont understand what the problem is
Drivers not installed properly?
Maybe you can make use of the kindle fire utility and it can install the required drivers for the kindle fire, root it and install TWRP for flashing / backup / restore the fire.
Hope this helps a bit.
The driver that worked for me was in the burritoroot zip, and the one in the KFU 0.9.2 download seemed to be missing something my computer wanted.
on cm7 you have to enable usb debugging somewhere in the options

Turn off your KF.
Turn on and wait for yellow triangle (in older FFF) or logo(in FFF 1.3).
At this moment press and hold power button until light goes red. You will boot into TWRP.
I did and the screen flickered and turned on. I used Kindle Fire Utility with BurritoRoot3. Once it was on my kindle i used BurritoRoot3 to install FIREFIREFIRE and i dont think it flashed TWRP but i didnt know if i could still flash TWRP and if you can how?
You still can use fire utility to flush TWRP. Get the last version from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889.
Or use gscript : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500935 for install touch CWM. It not recuire adb, but with CWM you cannot restore TWRP backups.
Or try :
http://liliputing.com/2011/12/how-t...ire-backup-restore-flash-custom-firmware.html
or
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/12363-how-to-windows-install-twrp-20-on-your-kindle-fire/
check recovery.img in the recovery folder of kfu - has to be ~10mb
if not delete the file and redo the installation
there is a little error in the current run.bat of kfu (0.9.3) - use the run.bat from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23536888&postcount=1007
I actually re rooted my kindle after the 6.3 update and it automatically installed twrp which I use to install cm9 kang.

Any Hope for my Fire HD 8? (7th Gen)

Hello. I have a Fire HD 8 which was rooted and I tried flashing twrp recovery onto it so to make the long story short the recovery (volume down + power) is stuck in a gray amazon logo screen and in normal mode it's a loop of the orange fire screen. Also I've installed all the drivers in my pc and have adb installed as well as the Kindle FIre Unbrick Utility which says there is no device.

Sounds like you wiped your recovery, as booting to the orange logo usually means a soft brick (which is fixable via flashing firmware in recovery).
In this case, with no recovery, it'll be a bit more tricky, as you'll likely need to take the device apart. Try following the method below:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80287339&postcount=154
You'll also end up with TWRP if you follow the above method.
Note: It may be possible to flash a stock recovery image in Fastboot, but I am not sure?

Correct my recovery is gone. Is there any way I could recover using software without opening the device?
For example for Samsung devices there is a Odin Flashing Software. But is there any amazon flashing software that I could reload everything including recovery? Thanks for your answer also

I don't believe there is any recovery software for these.
Opening the device shouldn't be too bad, and is probably your best bet.
The other option is to try and flash a recovery image via Fastboot. That's how I'd do it on other devices, but i'm not sure how it'll work on the Fire without hacked fastboot. See attached zip I took from the Unlock thread. One of the files in there is the recovery image.

Thanks, I'll try. If it helps, here is a picture which could explain the issue a little better.
