lg nexus 4 stuck on nexus logo after factory reset - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. My nexus 4 is rooted. Everything was perfect. I just wanted to do a fresh start. I did factory reset. Then it rebooted. Came to language selection. I selected English and than suddenly screen was black and nothing happened. I restarted again and it stuck on nexus logo. I did downloaded root toolkit 1.63 and it found my model and its selected 4.2.2 automatically. Then it downloaded stock image file and said my device adb error saying need to select USB debugging mode. I can't cause its stuck. Now about the rom it was liquidsmooth rom. Please help me how to go back to stock android 4.2.2. Thanks.

hi,
did u try to wipe cache/dalvik?

Bro I do not know what happened but I did volume up and power for 20 secs and power button again. It showed boot loader mood and switched off the device.

sorry, but for the stock img flash isn't needed just the bootloader mod? The deb mod is useless for this!

Throw it in the trash.

dont use a toolkit, they can create more issues than they are worth. boot into the bootloader, then flash the stock image via fastboot. thats all.

Thanks a lot. I sold it. My bad. Dn wanna use custom rom again.

Stuck at Galaxy S screen after Odin....

Recently i bought a GT-i9000. When I tried to boot the phone, it got stuck in a boot loop. The phone had CyanogenMod installed. I figured I'd try to use an Odin reset with this stock firmware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290577
The phone enters download mode fine, the file flashes in odin successfully. But upon restarting, the phone brings up the Galaxy S screen and stays there.
Nothing happens, I've left it for over 15 minutes.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks, im pretty new to the Galaxy S.
Had a Hero, Desire HD and an Atrix, but this is confusing me...
Get into recovery wipe everything(data/cache/dalvik cache) again and reboot

Thanks, but it won't boot into recovery.
I boot into recovery by using VolUp, Power and Home buttons correct?

ammm, I normally do VolUp, Home, and then Power, I really don't know if the order is important.
If you can't get into recovery, you should be able to go into download mode with VolDown, Home, Power.
Probably you installed a rom without the required bootloaders, this can happen when upgrading from foryo to gingerbread using a custom rom without bootloaders.
Go to Samfirmware and download JVP rom, make sure the PDA file has "_sbl" on the filename, this should mean it includes the gingerbread bootloaders.
Best of lucks!

Unplug your device. Hold the power button until it turns off. Then hold volume up, volume down, and the power button. It should boot you into recovery.

I'm sure there are more ways to deal with this, but I personally would just flash a custom recovery from bootloader and re flash the rom. Probably the easiest way to go about it. Others may have a better idea.

What did you do before? If you flashed a new ROM / Kernel, most likely they are not compatible.

... but if it's still locked, you need to unlock and then you will loose all your data
@verysalty: Did you try already to access the system with adb? Do you have debugging option switched on? Then you could try to do a backup of all your data before.

Sorry, no debungging mod on...
How can i flash my nexus to stock. easy way please.
The easiest way in my opinion:
- unlock boot loader (you will loose all your data!)
- download factory image from Google
- flash the factory image (fastboot or adb)
I am wondering why synchronizing some files with dropbox is causing a boot loop ???

Had a very similar issue today
Nexus started rebooting in the middle of different apps 2-3 times last night.
charged it overnight, unplugged it and went to class.
Then progressed to rebooting after only 40 seconds after the lock screen loaded from the reboot
40 secs wasn't enough time to do anything in android so after much research this is how I fixed it:
- in the 40 secs that android worked I pressed and held the power button and powered it down to stop the boot loop.
- when it was finally shut down I pressed and held the power and vol dwn buttons til the recovery menu appeared.
- used the vol buttons to select recovery, then pressed power
- When the android with the red exclamation point (!) showed up I pressed power then vol up and released for the menu to appear.
- Selected and execute Factory Reset. Then wipe Cache. then reboot, fixed the problem so far, now I'm re-installing apps.
I talked with a google rep about the problem, said it could me anything from a poorly written app, to a corrupted boot sequence.
Anyone know what may have caused this, so I don't inadvertently cause it to happen again??

I had the exact same issue from your description, I solved it after I read someone else disconnected the battery. Its a pretty quick fix to what looks like an unrecoverable problem loop of switching on, then powering down.
Here's what I did:
Open the back using just my nail on one corner , it snaps off easy pesy, trust me
Use ifixit nexus 7 battery replacement guide , steps 1-6 only, note where they use a tool I used a pair of nail scissors to prise the connector out and back in
http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing+Nexus+7+Battery/9895/1
Pulling the battery out, as with any android device can work.
Total time 2 mins
It was working again before I put the back cover on.

Nexus 4 stuck on boot up.

So suddenly phone died, tried to restart it but its stuck at the loop of Paranoid Android. Battery was still in 40%. Tried to go recovery mode, hold volume down + power button but all it does is go back to the google logo and loop again to the paranoid android and get stuck again.
Tried plugging it to mac, android file transfer says " try reconnecting or restarting your device."
Im on Franco and paranoid.
what to do?
PLEASE HELP.
tried reflashing a recovery via fastboot(while in the bootloader)?

Not sure if this will work for you, but its worth a try. Attempt holding the power button while its booting up to allow it to turn off (do not let it go when the screen turns black). Then hold volume down and quickly release and re-hold the power button.

The bootloader is the fastboot screen
There you should be able to use ./flash-all.bat (extracted from the stock rom)

Help! My phone is stuck!

I recently tried to flash my rom for the first time with safetrap. I reboot my device but when i try to boot it up all it says is "safetrap disabled system starting in 10 seconds." at the bottom right it says continue and at the bottom left it says recovery mode. I can't press any of the buttons and after 10 seconds the screen goes black. this may be a boot loop and i have no idea how to fix this. Help please. This phone is a droid razr m JB4.1.2

Need more details. Did you try to flash over the stock ROM or did you create a new ROM slot and flash there? FYI, you can't flash over stock in SS. If you did, you'll need to fastboot back to stock.

[Q] HELP!! 4.4 update

i tried to update to 4.4 through factory image files and i wounded up getting stuck on the nexus symbol and it wont boot up!!
i tried then going to recover mode but its not even doing that! the furthest i can get is into fastboot mode and when i go to recovery mode theres just the red triangle with no menu at all.. just the picture with the red triangle.. all i can do from there is hard reboot
so the situation is..boot stuck and no recovery
thanks for the help!
Well you should be fine. The little red triangle is normal, it is the screen you get before it goes to stock recovery. If you were to google that, you'd see you need to depress the power button and the volume up buttons at the same time. You keep them pressed together for about 4-5 seconds before it goes into recovery. Once you do that do a factory reset and see if that works.
BTW when you post like this make sure you include a little more detail how you got to where you are. Like what operating system you are using, Windows _, Ubuntu __._, or IOS. Also if you were using a tool kit. If you have ADB and Fastboot installed, etc., helps w/ the diagnosis if you know what I mean.

Maybe your factory image is corrupted. I downloaded the factory image from Google, checked the MD5 to make sure it was right, and then flashed it with no problem.
wipe data / factory reset on STOCK recovery.
