Found this thread on the HTC Hero section for it's open GL will this work for our wildfire?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=899801
Yea I flashed it, noticed an improvement in playing angry birds...i think.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Will it work on cm7 nightlies kevin?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Yeah
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Yes it works with just about every ROM, but, in my view, I can't see any benefit. (I dont play Angry Birds, and, the rest of the games and LWP's don't show any benefit).
How do you do this?
Just flash it like a rom?
Well, that's what I initially did. Flash the ZIP in Post #49 in that thread. But, on reading that complete thread, I guess you have to edit the build.prop file in /system (Using Root Explorer / ADB Push Pull).
However, this is where I cant get it to work. WHenever I add the 2 lines in Root Explorer and Save Changes, the phone reboots. If I use ADB, even after pushing, when I check the same file using build.prop, no changes are visible, (The opengles.version automatically reverts back to 65536 and the line which enabled hardware acceleration of the UI is gone) and, ASI only shows OpenGL 1.0 due to this
Well, I have no idea what I am doing wrong, will try it out again and see..
I'm a newb with this.
Could someone possibly make a bit more explained guide?
Very basic guide:
* Get Root Explorer or any other file manager that can show the root folders
* Open Root Explorer, change permissions on top to R/W (Be very careful after that. Dont delete anything!)
* Locate the file build.prop under /system
* Long Press the file, Select Edit with Text Editor
* Updated: (ADB Commands Copy - Pasted from another post by kevin2516. Thanks mate )
*Make sure ADB is installed on your system and it is working. There are many guides available to install ADB, so I wont be going into that.
*Start Command Prompt (cmd), Browse to your "Tools" folder into your SDK
*Use the ADB Pull Command adb pull /system/build.prop
*This will now be saved to your tools folder. Edit is using Wordpad / Notepad++ (Not Notepad) as follows:
*Locate a line which starts with dalvik. (The first one, there are 3 of them)
Add the following 2 lines before that:
debug.sf.hw=1
ro.opengles.version=65537
* Save it.
* Push it back to System using the ADB Push Command: adb push build.prop /system/build.prop
* Reboot ADB using the adb reboot command
* Then, grab the Flashable Zip in that thread from Post #48
* Flash it as normal
Done.
Check whether it is implemented or not by going to Android System Info > System Tab > OpenGL. Here, there are 2 OpenGL versions. The first line should say 1.1, and the second should say OpenGL 1.0 ES.
With S-On you cannot change the systemfile directly I think. Thats the reason why your system not keep the change. I have write by myself a little install zip and flash it with nandroid and it works. the zip only works with wildpuzzlerom v0.8 and you can find in the thread for wpr0.8.

Well, I took your flashable ZIP, removed the build.prop it contained, and replaced it with the build.prop of CM7 Nightly 2. Then, I tried flashing it, still no change.
Now, I have no idea whether I am 'allowed' to change flashable ZIP's like that or not, but, from what it is looking like, I am still unable to get this working on CM7NB2. I'll probably try making a flashable ZIP from scratch later as I get time.

If it's simple enough, it would be nice if you could tell how to do a flashable zip (or yourself make a one suitable for CM6/7 ). I just want to test these libraries on CM7, any help is appreciated
Don't expect nothing special, I'm not a dev!

But it's not working for CM7?
Where can i find FLashable zip? I don't understand where is post #48
Even if i find, i have read, that it's not working? Or working?
You can find the OpenGLES 1.1 Flashable ZIP in Post #48 of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=899801
I have updated my post since Root Explorer method doesnt work (No S-OFF).

You wrote : last edit: I didn't notice any difference, much like the test ran above. I'm going to revert until more knowledgeable people look at this.
if it is like you saying, then i dont have point to that **** too.
i think devs who makes this rom should instal in rom everything what can increase perfomance. so im waiting for the rom with all those things instaled.
will it happen someday?:/

Which is exactly what I said in the CM7 thread. No one here has till date, found verifiable gains, with using OpenGL on the Wildfire. Everyone reports the same thing, that there is no or absolutely negligible (Which I think is just a mind thing) change in gaming / intensive applications performance.
If you are looking for ROM's wit inbuilt OpenGLES Support, WildPuzzle has a flashable ZIP, and DS and DK Roms provides it inbuilt in its latest version. For the others, the manual method has to be followed.
what are some tweaks everyone is using on their stock F/W's?
I have removed:
sony sync, setup and guides, some of the stock apps that i don't use
added:
bravia engine (might remove due to suspicious battery consumptions)
misc tweaks:
build.prop
changed vm heapsize to 48m
added windowsevent line
added scripts to change read_ahead to 3072 (works best with my sccard)
disabled a lot of start up apps
hitting around 1372 in quadrant and 36-37 in linpack
what are some other tweaks that can be added that others are using?
Fps uncap by z. Im also want to removed bravia, could you show me how to do it pls?

- prevent lag after boot if you have lots of pictures and don't use the 3D gallery at all but QuickPic or another alternative: install Rescan Media Root from Market.
Another way would be to simply rename the gallery but then adding images to contacts doesn't work.
- free root explorer: Estrong File Explorer, the root mode didn't work in 2.1, but it does now!
- AppWidgetPicker still works in GB (display submenus for widget selection instead of a long list)
- turning off the button leds still works in GB:
#! /system/bin/busybox sh
DIR=$(cd /sys && find | grep brightness | cut -c 3- | cut -d : -f 1 | head -n 1)
LED=/sys/$DIR
LEDB=$LED:sled/brightness
echo 0 > $LEDB
exit

Can you share WidgetPicker with me? I can't seem to find it in the market.
@OP - i was just about to start a thread like this!!
For those of us that would like to keep the stock rom and apply tweaks ourselves we need people that know the tweaks to share them! Should we use autokiller/sysctl for example?
How about spare parts with compcache/[email protected]?
i look forward to hearing what is possible!
@op, i set VM to 64, but not sure if there is a noticeable difference!
Sorry, it's AppWidgetPicker, I added the link now.

Hi, what do u mean "windowsevent line" ?
as quoted here in step 13. < this is from a tweaks guide for 2.1
For the thread, if you are experiencing problems downloading from your browser:
d/l astro file manager from the market, go into preferences (more/preferences) and tick the "enable browser downloads" box. this is not my find, I read it earlier somewhere here on xda
I direct rooted my fw and flashed Bravia engine, so far so good.
Is there any way to flash FPS uncap for stock ROM without the need of a new ROM?
Edit : Already done.

Stating the obvious but remove apps that aren't needed!
SEMCSettings
Livewallpapers
etc etc.
here's a list of stock apps that i haev found to be ok when removed (results may vary, you may have something installed/using may depend on some of these)
device-monitor.apk - error reporting
OMAClientProvisioning.apk - part of sony sync
OmaDatasyncService.apk - part of sony sync
OmaV1AgentDownloadServices.apk - part of sony sync
PcCompanion.apk - pc companion installer
POBoxSknPink.apk - skin for japanese keyboard
POBoxSknWood.apk - skin for japanese keyboard
SecureClockJava.apk - not sure what it's for, but i have had no problem after removing it
SemcCrashMonitor.apk - more error reporting
Sync.apk - part of sony sync
SyncWizard.apk - part of sony sync
usersupport.apk - teaches you how to use your phone
SEMCsetupwizard.apk - initial setup, once you've done it, you don't need this anymore
LiveWallpapersPicker.apk - live wallpapers
MediaWidget.apk - media widget
MusicWidget.apk - music widget
Japaneseime.apk - japanese keyboard
koreanime - korean keyboard
removing the above will have no effect on timescape/facebook integration (that i have found, everything has been working fine for me)
@rendiero: for the 2 tweaks 99SuperCharger and S96sdcardspeedfix,can you write a step by step please?
Because i am little confuse with busybox and script manager.
On the tuto in the links for supercharger i write some value like 6,16, ...
For X10 the value are same or?
I have add same line on my build.prop now my phone stuck on Sony Ericsson logo.
I need to restore my backup
Are you on any moded Rom? Cause as I understood this thread is for stock one. That may cause some instability issues?

@Renderio, thanks for those, i will stop and try these later! the build prop is easy enough but will test the other 2 as well
thanks dude - you rule! please (all) let us know if any 'other tweaks/performance apps' can be applied - OR if they clash with any already stated (tweak conflicts where 2 process are doing the same thing, for e.g setcpu & other cpu app both doing the same tasks - you get my meaning i hope!!)
Thanks
The last 2 may conflict with wolf's Rom.
To use those you need to know witch files you must delete/change on it.

A few notes:
1. IF YOU HAVE ANY PERMISSION ERRORS i.e the camera not saving images to sdcard, you have to unmount your sdcard and remount it.
2. If you don't have an ext2 or a swap partition, everything will be ok, but if you do make sure they are in the correct order, because on boot the sdcard is mounted
3. there are a few custom commands in the terminal,
Code:
bash free, term, linux, nano, swapon, swapscriptv2, swap-off, swapon50, swapon60, swapon70, swapon80, swapon90, bootscriptv2, bootswap90,bootswap80,bootswap70, mountsd, umountsd, mountsd2pc, umountsd2pc, linuxloop
[QUOTE][COLOR=red]4. This rom first boot is close to 10 minutes, be patient it will pay off.[/COLOR][/QUOTE]
[QUOTE]To use bash it is a good idea to add this to the terminal emulator's initial command just below PATH
[CODE]su -c bash
[/QUOTE]
That sets the terminal up to use bash, this will allow you to use your tracball to scroll threw old commands.
3. To chroot into linux, it is very easy if you dont have the linux, To use this debian.img download the debain.img from above and push to sdcard. /sdcard/debain.img

you say wifi hotspot isn't working.
was that ever even a feature available for the eris?
never has worked besides an app, the only reason I say isnt working is because there is an app that works, for wifi tether, and wpasupplicant should be able to handle wifi hotspot, we just need to go threw a few files and rewrite the code. If someone has the hear they can do this, or an nother way that would make me happy would be just to change the link, for settings wifi hotspots to wifi tether app
either way I would like a more perminant way to use wifi tether make it look native

U need to read the GPL license here... Links to sources used for Rom's and Apps have to be posted in the OP. This is an open source forum, therefore sources need to have links for others to share in. I'm assuming since the source link isn't posted, this rom is a clone of someone else's and therefore doesn't belong up here. Given your response to the dev, that just confirms it.
Bringing Kaos back to the Eris community? Why, so you have some new source code to use? Dude, just post the source link and everything will be totally fine... If it's a clone, atleast give credit and discuss it with the Dev...
Wpw just the kind of thing I want to read in a PUBLIC FORUM. This seems like a PRIVATE issue and I am sure a lot of folks would appreciate it if y'all kept it that way.

You know there were people before you that could create roms, there are people after you can will create more roms, yours is not the best, and you try to say that it is.
I was kind enough to not tell people all you do is put a luancher on an old build of froyo, and call it a new rom, like your IPHONE ROM, and the reason I can say this is, because about a year ago I posted the windows7.apk. This post stopped you from creating " a new rom" even though it was no new rom, just an old foryo with a new windows7.apk. Talk about taking peoples work and making it yours.

The aurora_4.1+-init.d-addon zip is compatible with Aurora v4.1+.
The OOM-Priority-Charger-v1.4-Aurora-4.1a zip is compatible ONLY with Aurora v4.1a.
You can visit android.mimic.ca to upload and automatically patch your newer services.jar in an updated Aurora version.
Hello everyone,
I have created an update package that enables init.d support and also has some premade scripts to tweak various settings by the user e.g.
- Synaptics Touchscreen Sensitivity
- Apply FPS Novatek Fix to raise FPS to 53fps
- Set CPU Frequency and Governor
- Disable Atmel Haptic Feedback
- Turn VSync OFF
- Raise SDCard Read Ahead Value
All the above settings are at their defaults meaning that you must change the Settings in the Scripts and reboot to apply them, otherwise all values are the defaults in Aurora after flashing the Package.
It also includes and by default enables Androcharger (V6 SuperCharger tweaked by blk_jack for Desire Z, it is the same as V6's option 5), KickAssKernelizer by zeppelinrox and Loopy Smoothness tweak.
For a full "Supercharge" you must also tweak services.jar via android.mimic.ca (See the V6 Supercharger link for info). I have attached the CWM flashable zip for Aurora 4.1a (OOM-Priority-Charger-v1.4-Aurora-4.1a.zip).
Disclaimer
I am not responsible for any damage to your Device.
Notes:
This will make your boot slower as all these scripts have to be executed at startup. Especially the Loopy Smoothness Tweak will add at least 3 seconds at boot.
To apply Changes you have to Reboot
Changelog:
v1: Initial Release
v2: Resolve Bootloops for Atmel Users
Links:
V6 SuperCharger by zeppelinrox
AndroCharger by blk_jack
Thanks to dzo for his excellent ROM and the U8800 xda community for many of the tweaks.
And of course thanks to zeppelinrox, blk_jack, the EVO 4G developers.
Tweaking Values of Scripts
To tweak the Scripts you must use a File Explorer to navigate to /systemd/etc/init.d/ and open the files with your Favourite Text Editor.
There are instructions in each script.
In detail:
- 11synaptics_sens
Tweak Synaptics Touchsreen sensitivity, values 1 to 8, default=4 to accomodate your fingers and remove "jittering"
Simply replace 4 with your desired value.
- 12fpsfix
This enables the FPS fix that raises the panel's Frame Rate to ~53 from ~46.
This may not work for all phones but it is customizable, to enable it just uncomment (remove the starting #) from the echo line.
- 13cpu
Set your Desired Min/Max CPU Frequency and Governor. You may use copy and paste and finding values by opening:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_governors
For Example to use SmartassV2 replace "echo ondemand > /sys/...." with "echo smartassV2 > /sys/...." in line 9.
If you use SmartassV2 There are extra tweaks for Performance and a highly suggested tweak for Sleep Ideal Frequency.
- 14atmel_haptic_disable
Disable Atmel Haptic Feedback (i.e. Vibration on Touch) by uncommenting the echo line. If you want to enable replace 0 with 1.
(I believe the default is ON here, some atmel user input is appreciated)
- 69vsync_off
This file disables VSync. This will increase FPS, performance and benchmark scores but it will introduce Tearing (try e.g. SpeedX with and without VSync to see jarred lines) and it will probably drain battery faster.
Simply uncomment (remove starting #) from line 8 (echo '0' > /sys/kernel/debug/msm_fb/0/vsync_enable)
- 71sdcard_read_ahead
This file raises the read ahead value for your SDCard meaning faster throughput.
----------
The files 96AndroCharger,97loopy_smoothness_tweak,98KickAssKernel should not be edited.
If you wish to use V6 SuperCharger please remove 96AndroCharger first.
Thank you man this is really usefull, gona try ASAP
BTW "For a full "Supercharge" you must also tweak settings.jar via android.mimic.ca", maybe you wanted to say "services.jar" ?
What is inside the flashable ZIP
The ZIP contains a modified boot.img(its initrd image and specifically init.rc not the Kernel), init.d scripts and an executable file: /system/bin/sysinit that in turn executes all init.d scripts.
The source can be modified to support init.d by applying the attached patch to init.rc in platform/system/core repository of CAF. The init.rc is located in rootdir directory.
The patch is a simple two line patch to run sysinit. I will test, and it will of course be preferable to embed sysinit contents directly in init.rc.
Otherwise the initrd.img in the final bootimage can be unpacked,modified and repacked.
I also modified the update script to set permissions on the init.d directory to 755 and owned by root:shell.
Finally, init.qcom.post_boot.sh has been modded so as not to overwrite CPU settings and exec again 13cpu. I may try to modify it so as to source 13cpu instead.

First impressions after first reboot "wow, this thing is really smoother ^^"
Secound impressions after turn on "12fpsfix" "OMG I have a new mobile phone xD"
Boot its slower, but not that much.
Right after boot i have 173 MB free ram, dont really know how much i had before, what i know is that launcher is not redrawing thats really cool
Until now i can only say this, amazing improvement for Aurora, thank you zephyr1988, I will keep in touch with further testing
EDIT: Aps are opening and closing faster too
Thank you so much for this zephyr.
like kaza said, this impoves smoothess a lot.
And being able to use sd-ext again is really good
Thanks again for this!
Yes, improves everything a lot!

A quick question...
"If you use SmartassV2 There are extra tweaks for Performance and a highly suggested tweak for Sleep Ideal Frequency."
If I change to SmartassV2 with No-frills CPU Control will I benefit from that extra tweaks or only if I change it in 13cpu?
EDIT: Nevermind I saw that its needed to uncoment some lines

No Frills will overwrite 13cpu's settings in all cases but if you use smartassv2 in 13cpu and enable the tweaks they should stick, I believe.
In two words, use smartassV2 in both No Frills and 13cpu.
Try enabling the sleep ideal freq tweak and then open with a file manager the file:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/smartass/sleep_ideal_freq
(or in a terminal:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/smartass/sleep_ideal_freq)
and see if the value is 368640. If it is it works.
Don't know why, but I installed Aurora 4.0, installed all my apps and then rebooted into Recovery to flash the two Zip files attached to the first post and the phone now is bootlooping :\

Are you sure this is because of this mod?
Have you installed other mods too?
Before trying a fresh install, try deleting the three files 96Androcharger, 98KickAsskernel and 97loopy_smoothness_tweak via Pink Screen and PC. Then it is exactly the same as normal aurora and your problem is elsewhere.
Then you should try doing a fresh install of Aurora 4.0, then flash this zip and see if you get bootloops before installing other mods or apps.
wow, I know this will sound strange but at least for me it really happens, i had some slow downloads with Aurora just like most of the guys were reporting, I am using 12fpsfix, 13cpu with 368 min, 1.4 max, smartassV2 with teawks and 71sdcard_read_ahead, and now my downloads are really faster, downloading Asphalt 6 cache now was really fast, maybe its because my read and write speeds of sdcard were increased, dont know, but this is the best tweak so far for Aurora in my opinion lol

KickAssKernelizer and SuperCharger(i.e. the modified Androcharger script) apply kernel and tcp stack optimizations

I haven't installed any other mods. I'm going to do a fresh install and then install the two zip files and report what happened!
------------ EDIT ------------
Made a fresh install of Aurora 4.0 and flashed the two zip files from the first post, rebooted the phone, and it entered in bootloop again. Would you upload the files to another host (maybe the files I downloaded are corrupted?).
Don't know why this happens :|

Did a fresh install but same result(bootloop). Does it make any diffrence which file you install from CWM first?
right after flashing those files, go to Advanced->Report Error. Then mounts and storage -> mount USB storage. You will find inside clockworkmod dir a .log file with debug lines. If something went wrong (mounting or unmounting partitions), it's all there.
Btw which CWM are you using? 5.0.2.7 or 5.5.0.4?

Ace Xperia PlayHello Guys! , after scavenging the whole of the Xperia Play Forums I present to u the best Xperia play Setup in my opinion (and some others...)
First off i Wanna Give some Quick Thanx to:
ozzmanj1 - He Convinced me Heavily about the Stock Rom + A Working Odex Script!
TLRTheory - He convinced ozzmanj1 who convinced me,
Wedgess - A real developer!
DoomLord - Where would we be without him?
juwe11 - The Great Ramscript
LENAROX - The Unique and Amazing Pro-Tunned ADJ
Ryuinferno - Uni Init.d
Zepplinrox - Sclean
Bakisha - Telling me about Odexing!
CosmicDan - Dalvik Dexopt Flags
NOTE! You Must do these in order for the Best Stuffs, Also Please Read Everything
So Lets start shall we?
Oh wait no, Get some Coffee or another Beverage and get ur xP and Hook it up to ur PC,
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Backing Up!
First of were going to need some backups incase Anything goes wrong, So Go Ahead and:
-Reboot into CWM Recovary > Make a CWM Backup
-Reboot back into ROM > Download Titanium Backup and Run a Backup of All User Apps
-Power off you Device > Put it to Charge > (While waiting for Charge) Pull out the SD-Card and Manually mount into PC (Otherwise just do it normally with Android on, NOTE! it will take much longer) Now Cut Everything into a Secure location onto your PC
2. Preping
Just some things u need to be able to go to the next step:
-A Fully Charged Battery
-An Empty SD-Card
-Some more Coffee
now to continue we need to wipe all old things:
-Reboot into CWM > Wipe:
--System
--Data
--Cache
--Dalvik Cache
--SD-Card
--Battery Stats
now power off the device and keep it hooked up to power
Download the Following:
Xperia Play 52 Enhanced v3 Firmware
Flashtool
Lupus GB v12 LagFixed Edition
Now install Flashtool and copy the Xperia Play 52 Enhanced v3 Firmware to the flashtool firmwares folder
3. Flashing
Time fore the main moment,
-Run Flashtool (NOTE! if u have 64-bit, run the 64bit, also sometimes u have to like 6 times click it to open...)
-Disconnect your Device
-Connect the device in Flashmode (Will promt how to)
-Let it do its work (NOTE! If it asks to install drivers, go to the flashtool subfolder names drivers, run the .exe and select the list with xperia play in and select flashmode, then reboot)
-Now disconnect the device AND DONT BOOT UP
-flash Lupus GB v12 LagFixed Edition
-Now Gracefully boot up the device knowing you have the cleanest xp in existent,
4.Restoring
Now u can copy ur SD Card back, Advice : enable msc for faster transfer
U can also restore all apps via Titanium Backup, just download the app and restore
5. Root
When rebooting allow lupus gb to root
then go to playstore and install superuser and update the su binary
6. Fine-Tunning
This is the good stuff,
so we need to get performance and battery TOP NOTCH!
First off i recommend fine tunning the Android native settings, so adjust ur ringtones and etc... anothing thing is Leave animations on,
Then delete all apps u can from data/app, eg hotshots, fb and the rest of the sony junk
Now off to tweaking!, download:
Uni-Init.d
AutoMagical Debloater
Key for AutoMagical Debloater: JzzTXhl0MJlkga6fbLy5OXI2-FwXAXI_ZMU3MkRxE9I
Now download:
Root Browser
So first off reboot into recovary, and flash the Uni-Init.d zip
Now Flash Debloater.zip then Reboot x2
Open Root Browser and navigate to /system/app and here i cant help much, this is ur brain and eyes, manually compare whats in the zip i provided and the /app folder and remove stuff so ur devices apps are equal, now u may get some FC's but its nothing to dangerous to worry about,
Reboot now!
Some more debloating:
Navigate to system/etc, press search and type *.apk u should find some apk files, of their Verizon/Sony related, delete them!
Their is also another thing we can do called Odexing, be aware that doing this will result in you not being able to mod any framework files
Download the Odex Zip First, Flash it in CWM then Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache and reboot x2 Then:
- open terminal emulator (will be installed automaticaly)
- type su to obtain root permission
- type dexo -h to show possible commands for your phone
- type dexo -one of the option that you have decided
I & Ozzmanj1 recommend Odexing Everything - all
7. Tweaking
Suprisingly enough, All tweaks existent on android SUCK, (Joking) basically what im saying is we only need 3 tweaks
first off open root browser, go to /system and open build.prop, now allow editing:
Input the following for everyday use and generally amazing performance in eveything
Code:
# Pro-Tuned ADJ 1.2 by LENAROX.
ro.FOREGROUND_APP_ADJ=0
ro.VISIBLE_APP_ADJ=4
ro.PERCEPTIBLE_APP_ADJ=3
ro.HEAVY_WEIGHT_APP_ADJ=2
ro.SECONDARY_SERVER_ADJ=1
ro.BACKUP_APP_ADJ=5
ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=6
ro.HIDDEN_APP_MIN_ADJ=7
ro.EMPTY_APP_ADJ=15
#ultimate assassin mode.
#ro.SECONDARY_SERVER_ADJ=15
#ro.HIDDEN_APP_MIN_ADJ=3
or if ur extreme and want amazing games and pretty much no multitasking then this:
Code:
# Pro-Tuned ADJ 1.2 by LENAROX.
ro.FOREGROUND_APP_ADJ=0
ro.VISIBLE_APP_ADJ=4
ro.PERCEPTIBLE_APP_ADJ=3
ro.HEAVY_WEIGHT_APP_ADJ=2
ro.SECONDARY_SERVER_ADJ=15
ro.BACKUP_APP_ADJ=5
ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=6
ro.HIDDEN_APP_MIN_ADJ=3
ro.EMPTY_APP_ADJ=15
#ultimate assassin mode enabled.
save and exit, now reboot or cary on to next tweak and then reboot after that
Next up were going to optimize dalvik verification and optimization, to do this were going to navigate to /system/build.prop and open it and start editing, look for something like this:
Code:
dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=m=y
after lots of reasearch i came across a thread where CosmicDan Explained how dalvik vm worked with this and etc, and acording to him setting the dalvik vm to this parameter will increase performance all over the board
So replace with this:
Code:
dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=m=y,v=n,o=v,u=n
Done, now reboot 2 times, then continue on to the next tweak!
Now Init.d Tweaks, We only need 1, So open up root browser and navigate to /system/etc/init.d (this is long text, so i recommend save as file then in android cp and paste, if ur going to do this paste it into notepad++ and then save as .sh and then rename and remove .sh extension, we save as .sh to get the linux formatting so no bootloops or inactive scripts r their...) and make a new file called "97ramscript", Within the script input the following:
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
# Copyright© 2011 Juwe11
if [ -e /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree ]; then
echo "2560,4096,6144,12288,14336,18432" > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree
fi
if [ -e /proc/sys/vm/swappiness ]; then
echo "20" > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness
fi
if [ -e /proc/sys/vm/vfs_cache_pressure ]; then
echo "70" > /proc/sys/vm/vfs_cache_pressure
fi
if [ -e /proc/sys/vm/dirty_expire_centisecs ]; then
echo "3000" > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_expire_centisecs
fi
if [ -e /proc/sys/vm/dirty_writeback_centisecs ]; then
echo "500" > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_writeback_centisecs
fi
if [ -e /proc/sys/vm/dirty_ratio ]; then
echo "15" > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_ratio
fi
if [ -e /proc/sys/vm/dirty_backgroud_ratio ]; then
echo "3" > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_backgroud_ratio
fi
then save,now long press and set permissions to all of them (basically tick all 9 boxs)
now reboot
8. Keepin it Clean
Now we have everything done and our xPlay is Top notch but we need to keep it top notch!
so download:
Clean Master , And clean caches and empty folders regulary, HOWEVER please dont use TASK KILLERS, their terrible and ruin performance!!!
next up, install Busybox, Download this:
Super Cleany and open root browser and copy Super Cleany to /system/xbin, then set permissions to all (basically tick all 9 boxs), then Open Busybox and install it using the smart install, just use all defualt settings, once installed uninstall the app
Now download Terminal Emulator and type "su -c sclean" but only do this every like 2-3 weeks or when u feel ur device is extremely laggy, what it does? this cleans the device thoroughly and then reboots!
next thing is to disable startup programs, Download ES Task Manager and run the startup apps, click optimize then u can disable the following manually:
Google Play Store
Messaging
u can also disable anything u know of, eg titanium backup!
thats it, everything else leave it, Word for the wise: Dont disable anything u dont know,
Also just a general tip, dont install useless apps, eg Facebook as u can use it thru the browser!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's it! I hope u liked it!
Also please gimme a tnx I spent ages typing this,
Hey pizza_dox don't thank me for pushing the whole "stock". Thank TLRtheory. I PMd him about his setup as he was always talking about the performance of stock. So he's the one who convinced me. However I do appreciate you thanking me. And I would like to thank you for your work. You are always updating your roms and scripts and posting guides or setups. It goes a long way. So thank you

Is the kernel from Lupus with Lagfix is that the same as Lupus v12.5?
Someone should do a comparison video showing off stock debloated and OCed on games and some emulators. Is it really better for gaming?

When I switched from CDMA to the GSM model back in Feb of this year, I tried all sorts of custom roms. What made me really notice the difference was MC4. I could never get past 26fps on a number of custom ROMS. I then flashed the .79 ftf and deblaoted the hell out of it. Big difference. I ran a FPS meter and was getting 40-42fps on stock debloated no V6 supercharger scripts. No nothing. I was overclocked to 1.1ghz on performance and SIO. Ran smooth as silk.....
Dont this the wrong way, I am extremely appreciative of everyone who assists and participates on the XP forum with custom roms however I simply will not go back to a custom rom. Now that being said I did take the systemui.apk form the NXT Rom and replaced it over the stock systemui.apk and I have working toggles on a stock rom.

Now that being said I did take the systemui.apk form the NXT Rom and replaced it over the stock systemui.apk and I have working toggles on a stock rom.

Did you notice any difference in emulators? Oh, and I remember trying MC4 on Auroraplay and it was pretty smooth, but I'm not sure about the fps. Might check that next time.
I only use emu up to n64 and everything runs great.

Nice guide. Maybe to add odexing script at the end, when it's debloated, to save data space..
I also switched to .79 recently as daily driver. Debloated, odexed, installed new systemui and smartsearch dialer, and it's flying...
Antutu score is around 5500, on stock speed, and i didn't see any lag in games, not even MC4.

Not much difference is speed, but it can save around 50-60MB from data partition. And debloadet GB rom have a lot of spare space in /system partition.
Ofcorse, not needed for most users with lupus kernel, and is highly optional.

Forgot to add this important stuff in order to use the odex script, sorry ya'll.
How to odex:
- download file
- go to recovery
- install zip
- reboot
- open terminal emulator (will be installed automaticaly)
- type su to obtain room permission
- type dexo -h to show possible commands for your phone
- type dexo -one of the option that you have decided
Pizza_dox can you add to your OP. Thanks

Just a tip. I typed in SU in the terminal emulator that is installed from the script.
Then type in dexo -h and it gives you a list of options. If you want to odex your whole rom type in:
dexo -all
Then hit enter give it a minute, then it will reboot and you are done.
