I have a problem with my market application on my phone. Every time I want to update an application it force closes. I can browse but can't download.
I did use a market patch to see all, because I have an tattoo. Even if I go on app brain's application and try to update there via market it force close or just say starting download. It will say that until it force closes.
Please help, can't update any application anymore.
I have a similar problem. When I try to download something from market it says starting download, but the download never starts (no FC although).
what Rom??
I have a Rooted 6.2.1 with GoLauncher.
When searching using the market app I cannot see some of the free apps.
Specifically wondering why I cannot see or download Simi Clock or Simi Folder eventhough I can see them on the Android Market Website.
From the website I can choose the install option, but nothing gets installed OTA.
Am I missing a setting/app install?
Thanks
I have an Acer Iconica A500 & i am trying to get Xbox Smart Glass on it but no matter what it tells me that my device isn't compatible, I have Updated the Acer using the Update Enhancement Update from Acer & i still get the Device isn't compatible...Is there away around this or ?
My Acer is not Rooted & is there away i can get this app installed with Rooting it ?
Thanks
I had downloaded the apk file through google, search because the Google play one was not installable. They have two apps, the smart glass one ran without any problems. The main reason is that they have not yet released tablet support for their app. But rumor has it they will support it later. I installed version 1.0.1 I believe....
Sent from my A500 using XDA Premium HD app
So just search Google on the Tablet itself for the apk & then install the the apk how ? with what program & does my Tablet need to be rooted to do this ? or can i just download the apk on my Pc then put it on an Sd & install it that way...I am just not sure because the Tab is not rooted & i would like to keep this one that way...
Thanks...Appreciate the help
You don't need to be rooted to side load apps. You can do it via any file manager by simply tapping the apk file, or if you download it in the browser you just tap the download notification when it is done and it will install it.

Dear friends,
Could I update the Google Keyboard manually? I see that my version is 4.2 and XDA reported about version 5 available days ago.
I am on Nexus 6p.
Thanks.
Same here....about to just go find the apk and install that way
Yes, you can.

The problem I'm having is since it's a native app on a 6p it does not allow me to update because it says the app is not installed if I downloaded the update via an APK mirror. Everytime I click install it says that the app is not installed and I get this error on every Google core app I try to update manually. I have tried to install other things manually and they work fine but not the Google core apps.

Hi!
I have a iiyama te6503mis-b1ag and was playing around with it. It has android so you can install apps, but you either have to download an apk from the browser and install it from the finder or install it from a USB stick using the finder.
I tried using Aptoide but when I try to install an APK it says "unknown apps can't be installed by this user" although both the system and the app itself have permission to install unknown apps. It has this issue too for installing APKs from within other apps. I can just install APKs from within the build in finder.
I also tried installing both play services and play store, but when I open the play store it immediately crashes.
Does anyone know how I can get either Aptoide or the play store working?

No that doesn't work. As I said: both the system and the app itself have permission to install unknown apps.

Download kingo root https://root-apk.kingoapp.com/kingoroot-download.htm
install it, open it connect wired/wireless mouse, press get root, wait for it to get root, if it is stuck at 90%, press back and an error will appear, ignore it, close the app, delete kingo root from settings app section. turn off and turn on again, then you will have root, then try to install any app form aptoide, it will say root is detected, would you like to use root to install apps? click yes and wait for the app be installed.
I had the same problem, i bought an iiyama 55" touchscreen with iiware 9.0
The solution is very simple and works:
- Activate developer mode in the settings (tap on build number several times)
- Enable USB debugging
- Download and unpack adb platform-tools
- Move desired .apks to platform-tools folder
- Connect to adb via WiFi or LAN connection
Example: adb connect 192.168.1.1
Install the app using the following command:
adb install kodi.apk
