Wow, ballin' status. Currently my live wallpaper is getting 50k to 70k impressions per day but very little clicks.
Do you have the figures for downloaded, and more important, active device/user installs?
I'm planning to create a advertise financed app as well and want to have a ballpark figure of how many users you need to keep floating.
Thanks.
Mikael
AdMob haven't banned you yet? They are notorious for doing it. Everywhere I look they talk about how AdMob banned people who are earning $5000 constantly and then when you try to appeal they never reply, it could take months, if at all.
I use AdMob as part of a mediation on MoPub but I make pennies so it won't matter if I get banned.
I would say be wary AdMob
That a pretty good clicks you have there.
I try using AdMob but the click rate really low and I don't think it's benefit me at all even the app have more than 2000 impressions/day
That's amazing dude. Well done. I've had a micro app out for a month and a more-featured app out for 2 weeks and I've made $2.16 so far. Your numbers make me drool.

How you configure admob for get this results?

I'm still waiting for my ad to be approved. It's been over a week now.
When I get this campaign running I'll come back and share the results.
No special configuration needed, just quite good games or apps and a lot of daily installs! You can get them by sending your app to every forum or site you know, even if it's not about android.

It's referent to app promotion. When you have your app in the market, it's mandatory contacting with blogs, forums, and promote your app in social networks. More visibility means more downloads, more downloads means more users, and more users means more profit from ads.
Cheers
The stats are really great man......

hey guys,
im considering getting one of these i am currently rocking a blackberry 8900 and htc touch hd running winmo 6.5 and android 2.1. after using android on the touch hd i love it and im wanting to get a fully working android device, as android is very unstable on the touch hd so what is the pricing to get one of the devices shipped to the uk? i know its about £340 without shipping but with shipping what does it come to, also when getting this shipped to uk will it be a multi touch version?
Its ~£360 with shipping
+ ~£60 for tax
So about £420.
It should be the multitouch version, if not, update it with the software...
nah they come with old firmware, just go to about device in settings and click check for update and bang downloads from the net to ur fone, do it through wifi, as its 15 meg..

yeah hopefully by the time i have the money (in a bout 2/3 months) its will be on vodaphone in the uk and that will hopfully mean that the prices will drop to around the 350-375 mark and then i will defiantly get one
Or for those entrepreneurs out there, how's about.. you could always buy 5 @ $285 (2-8-5 US Dollars, roughly £182) each, sell 4 (say @ £300 - profit £75 each allowing for shipping etc etc..)- so one free N1 & £75 extra)
Google Search alibaba for Nexus One... surprising number of people flogging them in quantity... Could be crooks of course..
Cheers!

I've been using Android since January, so this is just over half a year of purchases. My total price (counting 5 non-installed apps with a value of $11.03 and the $8 for LPP and TB) is:
$111.33
I spend too much on apps.
$6. Psx4droid has been my first and only purchase.
I love Android because I can find a free app for anything. If I want it nicely polished, I can spend a couple of dollars.
I felt like an idiot when I saw the "value" of my app collection after installing AppBrain. Evo is my first Android and I went a little nuts with the accessories and apps and stuff.
So mine is like $98.00 since Evo launch.
I don't plan on buying any more, really. Although I hope some of my purchases, like Ad-Free TuneWiki and ROM Manager, and Astro ad-free, etc I will be able to use for years on the Android platform. I also burned some $$ trying to find an invisible skin that is not garbage.
The sad part is that in about 10 and a half months I'll be on to the next phone and all these extra screen protectors and cases and all that will be just spare parts for me.

Do what I do and just sell them with your EVO. I always included my cases and screen protectors as "bonuses" in my eBay auctions.

I purchased Remote RDP Enterprise, and my company paid me back for it. So really, I haven't spent anything.
jcjr81: you can check the info on the appbrain website, not the app.
LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one
I'll have to get app brain just to find out exactly but I'm certain it's over $100 for me.
My app collection did begin last december with my hero though, and I have bought a few pricey ones like docs to go ($15) and xtralogic's rdp ($20)
I think it would be interesting to see what I've donated to various devs over the last 6 months too, that's up there as well, probably about $80 I'd guess.
*edit- That was a good guess, my app drawer value is $106.29

No. There are plenty of free android apps. I will buy an app that had a free ad supported version because I abhor advertisements in my apps, I don't feel any guilt using an ad blocker. If your app is great then let me pay for it!
Of course if one is the type that would brick a phone to get it replaced then there are very few paid apps...
It's kind of cool to see the app developers coming up with ways to ensure their paid apps are actually being paid for.
*edit- this post was not meant to be a dig at anyone. I admit I haven't paid for all of my paid apps but if it's worth keeping I always end up paying for them when they get an update.
do you know where a list of apps are besides the "market"?
I am poor as crap right now, so i haven't bought any apps yet(only had it for a week though), so, $0.00 .
So I released a game on Android about a month ago(Incognito: Interstellar Empire. It was kinda languishing in the play store so I decided to put an ad campaign together at a few different places. I thought I'd share the results because one of them was way more worth the money than the other two.
First, the worst: Project Wonderful
Not wonderful for advertising a mobile game. I should have known this wouldn't be a good platform since the ads are not primarily on mobile devices. Don't be lured in by their cheap rates. Most of the websites with ads on this network kinda suck. I had a really poor click-through rate and it probably wasn't giving me high-quality users. Not even worth posting the stats... (not gonna bother looking it up).
Facebook Vs. Chartboost
Facebook uses the "install this app" in your facebook feed and chartboost uses interstitial ads in game.
I did facebook second upon a recommendation I read online. First off, I should have installed the SDK so that I could have tracked my install rate. Since I didn't, I'll be fair and try to only compare facebook to chartboost in the comparable metrics for which I have both sets of data. The other thing to note is that I paid facebook per click and I paid chartboost per install (which I chose the minimum at .50 cents.) .
Also, I spent a lot more money on chartboost than facebook. (thankfully)
Total Cost
Facebook: $26.64 (split over about 5 days)
Chartboost: $172 (split over 3 days)
total impressions:
facebook: 4,503
Chartboost: 440,275
Clicks:
facebook:113
Chartboost: 30,326
Most shocking comparison:
Cost per click
facebook: .24 cents USD
chartboost: .005 cents USD
cost per Impression
facebook: 5.92 USD
chartboost: .39 cents (yeah, this cost 6% of what facebook cost)
Click-through-rate
facebook: 2.505%
chartboost: 6.89%
Based on this I can tell that chartboost is giving me the higher quality users, and A LOT more value for my money. If you're not convinced yet, heres the last nail in facebooks coffin: I paid chartboost per install, so I know exactly what I'm getting from them. There isn't any gambling involved. Facebook ads are like throwing money out the window and hoping some lands in your yard. Chartboost delivered 344 installs for me. I wish I knew how many facebook actually delivered, but who cares. Based on my google stats it wasn't performing anywhere near chartboost.

yeah but you didn't even have to download it, but all the free coin things are over now I think.
the only one that might still be running is the $10 app credit with gift card purchase.

Slickdeals.com had a post with an Amazon promotion where you got $10 worth of coins by downloading I think five free apps. They were crap apps but it ran at the same time as the GTA promo. So if you did the app promo first you could use the $10 in coins to by the GTA app for $6.99 and get the $20 in coins leaving you with a net of $23 in coins with out paying anything out of pocket.
