[Q] Factory Reset - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, i have a htc one x, and i'm looking for a Nexus 4 with the broken screen. I will change the glass, but the phone has a password to enter. I can enter in bootloader pressing POWER + VOLUME+ button and make a factory reset, like in htc devices??
Thank you!

Volume down and power button to enter in recovery mode.

But, it comes with Recovery?
Because in HTC, we have the booatloader, and have to install the recovery after.

It comes with recovery. You can wipe data, cache and other things.

How to enter on the recovery menu, please?

You could just do adb reboot recovery when it's booted.. much simpler than random button combinations (I've never got those to work either).

You can do this by holding both volume up and volume down together when powering on. Then you use the volume rocker to select recovery option.

No command recovery screen

I have a brand new nexus 7 and I haven't unlocked the bootloader or rooted. I'm trying to sideload the kitkat update but whenever I try to boot into recovery it brings up the no command screen in recovery . From there I tried holding power and volume up and it just boots into the same screen that says no command. Is an unlocked bootloader required to sideload or is there something I'm doing wrong?
Did you try holding the power button and just tap the volume up button instead of holding it? Should work, it's what I did and it got me into recovery to finish the side load

Press a key (Vol+ or power or.. ) and you should see some options to choose. I was hanging at the same point when I was rooting my device...

Boot into twrp

Hey guys
My question is how can I boot into recovery without factory reset.???
Because when.I do the button combo power and vol down to enter,
It shows push 3 times power to factory reset and enter then recovery....
I am afraid of pushing 3 tomes power to enter recovery because of the note factory reset....
Are there any other possibilities to enter recovery,.????

Twrp and rom manager apps both have a boot to recovery feature. There are other quick boot apps as well

Don't worry, it doesn't wipe anything or do an actual factory reset. I think TWRP did something to bypass that because you'll find that after the 2nd press of the power button, you go straight to recovery without losing anything. As another option, similar to a post above, you can also install this from the Play Store and it will give you an option to boot directly to recovery: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot&hl=en

[Q] stock recovery on lollipop?

hi guys, i have a nexus 10 and before i upgraded to OTA lollipop i was able to reset and restore to factory through the OS and also through recovery by pressing POWER + VOLUME- so now i installed the OTA lollipop update, that updated my nexus 10 to 5.0.2 if i'm not mistaken and now that key combination doesn't work. so now my question is how do i enter or go into the stock recovery menu of my lollipop nexus 10. the tablet is completely stock and never has been rooted.
thanks in advanced
peace out
Device turned off. Press POWER+VOL UP+VOL DOWN until you see the android on a rocket. With your volume keys, scroll until you see "Reboot to recovery" or something like that. Press POWER. You'll now be booted to stock recovery.
Ok i forgot to mention that i can get into the recovery option but when i choose it only the robot with the "no command" comes out

No other option is available to choose from when the robit appears with the open hatch and the "No Command" under it.
