if download mode is working then the screen should be all right. Try flashing stock rom.or try charging it and try other battery. if not work u have to take it to samsung service centre and spend some money.

Its actually a hardware problem. Only way for it to be fixed is to bring it to samsung service center. You need to pay money though..
P.S water damage is not covered by warranty or any mishandlement of the device by user.

I know that! People are saying to put it in a bowl of rice for a day or two! I am doing it.. I hope it works now!

Don't even try to switch it on !!!
it can make the condition worse
the first thing u shud do is disconnect everything that can conduct electricity- the sim ,SDcard , battery and clean it ..
leave out for sometym and make sure all ports are clean
water cud hav seeped inside the body onto the motherboard for which u can keep it in rice or anhydrous calcium chloride ( i prefer rice ) .
After this carefully examine the condition of ur fone and connect only the battery once it has completely dried up and swutch on ur fone .
if it doesnt boot and only when u are completely sure that it is dry plug the charger
if there is any abnormal behavior or strange sounds quickly disconnect evrything once again

I kept in Rice for about 24h+ but nothing happened :crying: I doubt if the bootloader has gone missing! I think I should now take it to Samsung Service Center.. Its dry and the bin count is 0 so I think they won't object!

Still you have to pay death_sinker. I don't think warranty covers water damage.

need your attention......
o no bro.a good tip, dont use bulb or something its make corrosive your mainboard.the best is to put it in a jar full of rice.
thanks,,,,,,,buddy i suppose it work!!!!doin it
Bro also place rice jar in sunlight so that water will eveporate and rice would absorb it...
Also remove battery and other accessories.and if possible open the body of phone by removing the screws...
Placing it in a bag of rice wont help much as far as I know just let it dry and after that open the phone and see if there is any corrosion on the board if yes remove that first by a soft brush to remove the corrosion you can also try to dip the main board in alcoholic solution just google it

glad to hear the hardware is safe from harm,
btw make sure to run tests because most of the time water damages does not appear at first
The classic rice trick has always worked best for me.
Guys, once i also experienced the same problem. My phone feel into a bucket full of water . What i did was, immediately removed the battery and wiped it well, then some shaking.. After 15, 20 minutes, i restarted it but it wasn't. I tried to unscrew it but failed due to lack of proper screw driver.. anyway i left it on my bed and went for duty. Evening icame back. Tried to restart, again failed. then i put it on charging. Nothing was shown on the display as charging. But after a 10 minutes when i tried to switch it on, really, it switched on... There was no problem after that.
Same my brother also experienced this problem. He accidently dropped it in a pond.. He took it to a Samsung care, after checking they told him that its motherboard needs to be changed. And it costs half the price of y. So he took it back to
Home. One of his friend told him to put it under sunlight.! He did so, and after some time when he switched it on, it successfully booted. But there is a big round Mark in his display.
Now he has to change the display.

when situations like that happen:
1. REMOVE BATTERY IMMEDIATELY
2. NEVER PUT THE BATTERY BACK ON
3. DONT PANIC
4. Never put the device to dry under the sun
5. To make sure take 1-2 days before turning the device on again
I heard that you take battery out, shake water out of it then just leave it to dry under a medium powered light bulb

[Q] Dropped phone in water

Well I dun goof'd this time really badly. It fell in a "bowl" of water and I quickly managed to pull it out. The phone was still on, working as usual, except I noticed that the battery started charging itself LOL. Like it had the electricity symbol on it. Anyways, I quickly took out battery, SIM card, opened up the USB port, took off the MicroSD and I noticed they're all pretty wet, wiped them along with the battery and the back of the phone but I still think there is some moisture left inside so I'm hoping everything will go good tomorow after i wait 24 hours for it to dry out.
What keeps me calm is that it was working still while wet so that makes me think it'll still turn on once fully dried. Hell, my cousin's home had a flood and his computer was on the floor, he didn't turn it on for about a week and once he got the courage, his computer started without a problem and so far no motherboard issues or anything of the sort.
Has anyone had such situation like me? If so, did you little SGY survive or it died of drowning?
I left a water bottle and my phone was next to it ^^ and i accidently droped it on my phone and it has been wet all night xD...
When i woke up it was full of water and it didnt turn on... And i took everything out and 10 hours later put it back in and it booted
U were luckey ur phone didnt crash ^^
Battery charging itself XD
In the worst case scenario something will blow up in ur phone cuz on sudden contact with watef

Thanks for the reply, that sure is a relief. Another method I just learned off the internet is to put it deep in a bowl of rice and that is what I'm gonna do. Gonna leave it for 24 hours. Wish me luck
Still, if anyone has similar stories please share.

[Q] Galaxy S4 completely dead?

The Galaxy S4 of a friend of mine fell some time ago, but still worked perfectly after the drop.
After a few days the phone died.
The S4 doesn't boot and doesn't show charging logo when connected to power.
I also tried putting another battery in it and I checked the insides. (nothing out of the ordinary)
Does someone know what's wrong with the phone or what steps I can take?

Any ways unless it doesn't get wet its possible to fix if u take it to the right place or u may get a replacment if there are no sign for an impact or havey scratch and u have valid warranty good luck

[Q] G2 802 Screen doesnt show anything [HELP]

Hello everyone,
I got this problem with my LG G2 that it fell in the water once, I directly put off the phone. (It was still intact after falling in water).
Later I turned it on but the screen did not show up. Sound works, Vibration works, TOUCH screen works (no graphical stuff) and even if I call my self with another phone the LG goes off, vibrates, plays the ringtone and everything.
I sent my phone to Dynafix which is the repair center, they said it's not available for warranty, because its water damage and they declared the phone as "Unrecoverable". Which I think is pretty weird. I have thought of repairing it myself by buying and new LCD and Digitalizer.
(w w w . etradesupply . com/lg-g2-d800-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly.html)
I have never done that though but with a good tutorial on YouTube and the right tools I should be able to do it. But before I take any action which may not work I want more info about this problem.
I made a video of my phone but can't post any links here, the name is: "LG G2 screen doesnt go on? [HELP!]"
Thanks:good:
Don't waste your time or money on this. If it was completely immersed in water, it is in fact unrecoverable. The water might not have an effect on the device the first couple of hours, but after a short while it will corrode it's way trough the device, rendering it useless. The repair center won't touch it because they know that no matter what they do, there is a huge risk that the corrosion will come back. You're better off with a new device.

The phone in on the charger and on, Everyday I still hear sounds and such. The phone hasnt been in water more then 1 sec though. And afterwards I left it drying in dry rice for 1 week. I know i am a bit selfish but I think there could be a chance of making it work.
The phone comes with a subscription for 2 years and it's not even a year old ;/

Not exactly the same but a friend was skipping lessons at school when we were like 10 (10ish years ago) and using Gameboy Advance SP in the toilets... you can guess what happened... Any way i took it apart and left it in a closet for a few days, gave it back to him fully working after. So it's not necessarily un-fixable.

Well yeah, I just turned it off got the back cover off but not got the battery out. and let it dry.
Is there any way to acces the phone's screen through my PC? The phone is rooted.
Fixed the phone!
I removed the main board from the phone and brushed the connections with a toothbrush. Re-assembled the phone and it worked!
The only money I spent is for a plastic opening tool and a philips screwdriver.

Your problem isn't something that you can fix from your computer I think that the only thing that you can do is to disassemble the phone completely and let it dry in the sun or your hair dryer an then check again

It's possible that it may be able to be recovered. Try the debrick method in the link I posted above. It's going to forever be water damaged, which could possibly lead to early component failure, but you might be able to revive it.

Seriously dude, water damaged means hardware damaged. No way that he can just unbrick. This is something totally different, it's just false hope which I which wasn't but in reality is.

OP, you can belive that if you want. IMO it's worth a try. After having been able to recover water damaged devices myself, I'd be trying if it were me. Might not work, but what's the harm in trying?
