Antutu CPU Master - Can't overclock above 1000MHz - Eee Pad Transformer General

Hello everybody,
I got an Asus Transformer tf101, and have root it with OneclickrecoveryV0.4 and CWM-SuperSU-v0.89. I have installed Antutu CPU Pro, however I can't seem to increase the CPU more than 1000MHz, am I doing something wrong or missing a step?
Also with the GPU does anybody have a recommendation. I just want to speed up the Asus, as watch video through NAS and online can be lagging sometime.
Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

In order to overclock you need to flash a custom kernel. I think there are a few kernels (Harmony and Guevor's if I recall) that will work. You will need to flash them via recovery and then wipe your cache and davlik cache, then reboot.
For watching videos over your network, what player are you using? does it support H/W encoding via the network? Not all of them do. Also, how is the strength of your network?

Many thanks for your reply, I have installed a Custom Kernel, was able to increase the CPU 1.4. It is such a different machine now, not sure wherther it is the Overclock or the Jelly Bean.
It seem to run faster than my Note now, might have to look into root the Note too.
Anyway many thanks for your help.
P.S: From you avatar, wonder if you play tapped out?

[Q] Kyrillos' ROM installed, but not overclocked

Hi, folks! Are you ok?
I'm new here (indeed in the Android's world), I can't post in development forum, so here I am.
I have instaled my first custom ROM right now, Kyrillos' ROM, but looks like de overclock feature not works.
My decision to choice this ROM its about a video I saw in YouTube showing the overclock in 1.3GHz, so, for me, this is a very important feature.
I check this in the setCPU and the value stills 667. I followed all the instructions, all the rest its run like a charm, I can run live wallpapers now and all the stuff, but the overclock thing is perturb me...
Anyone can help me with that?
PS: Sorry about not put the thread in the [OFFICIAL] Kyrillos' ROM Problems, Questions & Answers...
Hi..
choose a kernel from here which best suits your needs and flash it just like you flashed the rom.. You'll be able to overclock after that
Next time ask here dude...

Hi! Thank you for your fast reply!
So, that's another flash thing. OK. So, my serious doubts:
1 - Overclock that way may harm my phone? Life time of processor, battery temperature, things like that...
2 - What you indicate to my device (Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800), "performance" or "ultimate"?
Regards!

1.Well the voltages aren't raised so overclocking won't hurt..
2. You can give them both a try. Had some flickering issues with ultimate so I'm using performance now..

Tell me one thing, if the voltages are not raised, how come battery consumption is more?? I am guessing, increase in frequency increases temperature and hence raises consumption. Or is it something else??

I've got no idea about that but overclocking doesn't cause much battery drain.. It drains more due to data connection specifically 3G..

Understood.
But, a last thing before try this: in the thread, theres a warning "Convert filesystems to rfs before flashing kernel."... So, how exactly I do that?
Thank you again!

Navigate to android/data/fugumod on your sdcard.. Make a new file named
fs.convert
Open it and in a text editor and type
Stl6 rfs
stl7 rfs
Stl8 rfs
Save the file and reboot your phone

You don t have to convert. That was only for the earlier versions of G3Mod. You can flash kernel directly without converting.

Indeed, the instalation was automatic and painless and now I'm at 950MHz!
Last doubt: I need keep the setCUP installed for anything?

Yes. It controls the CPU frequency. If you don t have that how will you change frequency and set profiles?? You have to have it.

The kernel won't change the Rom.. your data.and settings will be intact.. it allows you to overclock your device

Download the the kernel that you want from here.
The details of the various kernels are as follows : -
Lite : - NON OC
Performance : - 190-950 MHz
Ultimate : - 200-1200 MHz
Extreme : - 200-1400 MHz
Copy the required .zip of the kernel to the SD card and apply via CWM recovery or just flash the .tar as one package using ODIN.
Then use SET CPU to overclock.

[Q] Lightspeed 1.0.6 Overclocking ?

Hello Guys i have a problem. I cant Overclock Lightspeed 1.0.6 and i was not having a problems with 1.0.4 version ? Why is this happening ? Is it only me ? Before I was Abe to go up to 1.6 and now the max Freq is native (1GHz). Im using SetCpu to overclock.....
Oh and i didn't want to make another topic so i will ask you here? Is there a possible Way to play Gameloft Games with XBOX 360 controller or Mouse ? I can play with X360 controller with the emulators.....
Lightspeed 1.0.6 comes with a stock kernel which doesn't support overlocking. In other words, you need to flash a new kernel to allow overclocking. Try richardtrip's kernel here. Just flash the same way as a ROM, only wiping the cache and dalvik cache first. My only annoyance by doing this with Lightspeed is the way the kernel handles external hard drives. With the stock kernel, it would automatically mount as USB Storage as soon as it's plugged in. When using richardtrip's kernel, you need to use an app called Drive Mount (found on the market) and it will only automatically mount if the drive is plugged in while booting (as long as you configure it to do so). Also, it won't come up as USB Storage - instead, it mounts to /mnt/sda1 and /sda1 if you set the symlink in Drive Mount. Thought I might point that out.
As far as using your 360 controller or mouse in Gameloft games - I don't think it's possible. The games aren't programmed to support them. I could be wrong, though. There might be a third-party app or some way to remap the default controls. I haven't really looked into it, but I'm doubting it's possible. Emulators for systems such as MAME or SNES do support controllers, however. Edit: guess you already knew that second part
Thors Kernel works too.

This is true, however I wouldn't endorse it. Thor doesn't release the source code, which is in direct violation of the GPL. Just sayin...
I agree with thor's kernel. Use it and love it and while he may not release the "source code". He will help you with any issue you have and that is a big plus in my book.

Same here. For what ever reason he dont release it; i dont really care. But he is always very prompt with reply, when you ask him any question. Do the best to help you. Or update kernel quickly when problem or inefficiencies are reported.
Let's not rehash the fued
+1 on Thor's Kernels and his support for them. And the Transformer Port to the 500 is pretty slick also.
For the Lightspeed Rom, I believe you need Thor's version 3.9 kernel "stock", the one tagged as "the rest" are for the really custom roms.
(first post after floating around here for a couple weeks since getting my a500)
I'm running Lightspeed with thor's kernel, oc'd (using cpu master free i think off the top of my head) to ~1.4ghz -- running very nicely

[Q] Blade slower after overclocking too much?

Hi all,
I tried finding a corresponding thread, but couldn't.
Briefly, after flashing Burstlam's ICS remix, I overclocked the CPU to 806, keeping the smartassv2 gouvernor.
It was stable for half a day, then my screen flashed twice with pink sqares and some other mess - restart - and since then it behaves like a PC with missing graphics drivers.
Have I burnt some kind of coprocessor? Cuz no matter what I do(full wipe - reflash, left phone off over night with battery extracted, etc.), scrolling is now choppy as hell. At any frequency .
Pls advise if there is any chance to "fix" this.
Many THX in advance,
Robin
PS.: Maybe this could at least serve as a warning for others, do not risk with 806Mhz!!
806MHz is a risky overclock and should be reached in steps of lower frequencies. Userspace governor is usually used when overclock speeds of 806 are achieved. Best thing for you to do would be to 'Try' to make it stock and go for warranty. Looks like there's a serious issue with the phone.

Yea.... Restore stock and give your mobile to service station!
Thanks folks
Hi,
Thanks for the swift responses both. I'll give it a shot.
Any special hint as to how to hide the SU bin? Presumingly I'll just restore my initial backup, that will push back the original recovery image + unroot the machine..right?
Pls ignore if I'm too annoying
Thanks again,
Robin
Either restore the old stock backup or flash a new stock rom

[Q] OverClock Iconia A500 permanently

Here's a question.
and yes, I did read most of the A500 stuff before posting this.
I currently have CyanogenMod V 10.2, and a 4.2.2 kernel
Here's my question. I see in the recovery rom, an option to overclock.
how can I do this from inside the normal kernel? is there an option I just haven't seen?
I understand it needs to be be done inside the rom, but seriously, haven't seen any discussion on how to get this running on a regular basis.
thanks in advance

Why not make it easy, download and install SetCpu or any one of the multitude of OC apps on the market, and just set your OC/UV from there? You can select "set at boot" and it will retain your selections in the event of a re-boot.
Not all kernels are capable of OC/UV. This is all dependant on if the dev compiled the kernel with the correct frequency and voltage tables to allow this.
The fact that the CWM recovery has options, has 0 impact if the OC can be done. The OC option is in every recent CWM recovery version regardless of kernel being installed.
So my advice, download and install an OC app from play store, and check if your kernel supports it.
One more bit of advice... do not select "set at boot" until you have checked out your OC/UV settings.
MD
Thank you very much. dumb Xnix person that I am, didn't think to check if there were any apps like that. will investigate.

In next update all cores will go down to 300mhz, when not in use. I dont know why manufactures dont do this..... Why in hell i want all cores at max when phone is sleeping......????
Stay tuned, yesterday i left phone streaming music all day. Late afternoon phone was stll at 45%. Battery life greatly improved in next built.

Is this rom really faster/better? I find the stock already fast and stable. And the latest firmware has stability improvements. I play games like gta, ganstar, asphalt and others. Do you suggest this rom?
Well im near to test it, need some times more..
A guide to flash would be usefull but i think it's Just this:
Unlock bootlader
Flash twrp
Wipe all (data system cache dalvik etc)
Flash the. Zip
Reboot, done. Right?
For root need the super su flashable?
More thing before mod my smartphone:
(With root)
Possibile to change boot animation?
Lock unlock sound?
Possibile to add power sound? Like on some Huawei
Will be able to use substratum?
And for xposed?
Thx in advice
