Although I have to agree, being a member of BJ's whole sale club is worth it at times, besides buying food this retail store carries a wide trend of different major company tech gadgets such as Apple, Samsung, Acer, Sony, ect. Recently reviewing a catalog that I received through my mailbox at home, it appears to me that my local BJ's store is having a back to school deal. Either that or this is the original retail price that BJ's has on the Transformer Eee pad. If you happen to own or even plan on buying a Transformer asus tablet I would recommend purchasing it from your local BJ's. Better yet from the looks of it, Best Buys Price Match Guarantee appears to be that if you go to your local Best Buy near you they will and should match the price from another competitor.
Say what? Yes, I know what you’re thinking right about this point...What if the price posted on BJ's whole sales club website is an online special only through BJ's? Well fear not because actually the price is 389.99$ as posted online, on the catalog and in the store!

Below is proof of Best Buys price match guarantee service:
"Buy It Now With Confidence
Best Buy will match the price if you find a lower price on an identical available product at a local retail competitor's store, a local Best Buy Retail Store or BestBuy.com. Simply let us know when you are making your purchase or during the return and exchange period.
The Guarantee does not apply to: Our competitors' website prices, offers that include financing, bundling of items, free items, pricing errors, mail-in offers, competitors' service prices, items that are advertised as limited-quantity, out of stock, open-box, clearance, refurbished/used items, BestBuy.com Midnight Sale and special hour sale events, BestBuy.com Outlet Center and Marketplace items, and items for sale Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving"

Or you could use that $10 to go on a shopping spree on the Android Market or even donate it to a developer
@reuuin88: agreed! except when I saw the TF101 appear on Newegg. There was a $4.99 (or $5.99) shipping fee. This usually happens when new items appear on Newegg. But nevertheless, it was cheaper than Amazon because Newegg doesn't collect sales tax. (dont get me because i like to save money by not paying sales tax )

From where? Clove?

I'm down, better make it snappy though.
yeah, maybe Clove, £500 exc vat
or handtec £478.99 exc VAT
even ebay.... US $979.00
Oh mate, the cheapest price now is about 450 ponds plus VAT. Are you going to pay more for group purchase? Also, you have to re-arrange the postage. So......
On the other hand, those online stores have plenty pre order already. So, there is no negotiation space.

Yeah, you'd obviously wanna go through Samsung or their main distributor lol
Best I found is $778 and that's better than any place in the UK but now it's looking like AT&T may get it someday soon.

obviously the case is to see a store who has to go right out and negotiate with buyers certain amount of what would be the discount, it is silly to think that you pay more ..

I've read that there is no difference between the Nexus 4 sold on the Google Play store and the Nexus 4 being sold at T-Mobile
T-Mobile page: http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/Phones/cell-phone-detail.aspx?cell-phone=Nexus-4
If this is true, then why the price difference from T-Mobile ($549 retail) and Google Play ($349)?
Also, I'm not sure if buying it through google play is also signing up for a contract with T-Mobile or another carrier. I'm unable to gather that kind of information since it's listed as sold out on the Google Play site.
I called my local T-Mobile today and they said they would be receiving some Nexus 4's later on in the week, but retail price on them would be $549
Soooo... why the difference in price?
Also, does Google plan on restocking the Play store with Nexus 4 any time soon?
ps. sorry if this has been asked before, i've looked through the threads and didn't find anything regarding this.
T mobile wants to make money on the phone so they charge more for it. Its the same phone. Eventually it will be back in the play store. Eventually.

Same phone... However one is obviously a marketing ploy to gain profit.

Awesome, thanks for the replies. So it would be wise to just wait until the play store gets a restock?
Did I mention my tmobile store will have them in stock this week. idk if i can wait. but its a steep $200 difference in price which is ridiculous.
This phone is just as good or better than other phones that cost $550 so your not really getting a bad deal so to say.. Its just that Google sells it much cheaper. Personally i would wait it out unless you really really want it.

Why is it ridiculous? Why are you a cheap skate? The phone is $350 on play plus shipping ($20 bucks?) And its $500 in store plus tax. Not even a $150 difference. Googles price point and objective is different than T-Mobile. Buying from T-Mobile is buying from a retailer, and they are charging based on their normal profit model. It is still over a hundred less than other top tier phones. Their business is to make a cut in profit off the sales of phones and more so by providing mobile voice and data service. Google sells to spread exposure to their newest android version, features, build brand. In addition, they make money off the content of the phone such as: addict/sell Google services, app/content play store purchases, data collection/mining/selling, mobile ads, etc. Completely different profit model here and objectives. You are not being fleeced by T-Mobile, especially if buying from T-Mobile means you don't have to wait months to get one off play.

Play received many batches and much more stock than T-Mobile. This is the first time it has been available widely for T-Mobile.
People need to get off the thought that if someone charges you more then you are getting automatically getting ripped off. T-Mobile doesn't gain profit off the content of the device. Their only profit is on the sale of the device... And their service if you use it. Google makes loads of money off your movements, location, personal info, purchasing habits, usage, ad targeting, app store, etc.

Yeah its 199 if you're upgrade eligible or new contract.
Thought I read somewhere that it'd be free with a contract/upgrade and that they'd be selling it for the same amount as the play store, but I'm not sure if that's true
I'm eligible for an upgrade on March, I'll have wait and see

Tmobile is charging $549 + tax (+~$50) which is over $200 difference actually. No, i'm not a cheap skate, but I also don't just throw my money around. I was simply trying to find out why Google sells the unlocked contract free phone for such a cheaper price. Either way, thanks for your explanation, it was informative.
Seeing that you went through 5 Nexii 4, how do you feel about the device? And do you think the production quality of the phone has gotten better since your first? I'd hate to purchase one for +$550 just to find out something is wrong with it.
I recently joined the samsung pay group, as i got a new Galaxy s8.
I was hoping to share $5 with others as well as receive $5 for myself.
Use the code Mod Edit : Links Removed (my code) under promotions in Samsung Pay before your first purchase, then we both get 5$. Sweet deal. And i definitely need to money lol.

I know there's a thread relating to CPW but this thread is for all UK options. Be it contract or SIM free, try to get best deals.
So far best deal seems to be thru CPW £599.
Didn't see any preorders thru network yet.
If anyone has any news could share it here.
This phone won't appeal to the masses as it will never receive the same marketing advertising as Samsung also might have been better to be priced around £550.
It was never goin to be priced at £550, the 10 was just under £580 at launch.

Actually, it is priced £550 from HTC with discount from HTC UK on Twitter, and the 10 was just over £500 using the same method.
Just message HTC UK on Twitter and inquire about a discount code ?
Never hurts to ask.

They now encourage you to join the HTC Club, where the phone is priced at £584. Obviously your discount code is better, any chance you could share it if its not unique?

I would share it with you, but it was only valid for 24 hours and I believe single use.
I did try to share after I used it with other UK people, but they couldn't get it to work again.
Have you tried messaging on Twitter? That's probably the best option.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

That's a good find. I might try it but at the moment quite happy with S8 Plus. I'm so used to big screen not sure I can go down to 5.5. I hope HTC do well though as I've been HTC fan since their first smartphone.

I can confirm what spikeydoo2006 said - I just tweeted them asking for a discount code as I was interested in buying it if a discount was available for previous customers (that was a slight...well...lie, this will be my first HTC phone) and they gave me a 15% discount code.
I would advise just to check the discount before purchasing though - when using it on Chrome it only gave a 10% discount, but using it on Edge gave the full 15%.
I looked at sim free and still decided to go with ee on pre order. 20% NHS discount on the line rental swung it for me.
20% is pretty good discount which is what I get with my upgrade.
