what recovery are your using? most likely it is a simple fix, in one of the settings there should be an option to "mount system" or "mount sdcard"

Cant mount internal/external sd vibrant

I cant mount the internal or external sd card on my samsung vibrant
Earlier i transfered music to my phone and it was working
Im running Axura 2.0.6 with the JK6 modem.
I cant ODIN since my computer wont recognize it.
When plugging in USB it simply makes a sound but has no notification.
Tried to do a system wipe on the phone and when rebooting it says denied.
Under phone storage it states Format SD CARD for internal but nothing else.
It does not say i can unmount it.
Ive tried the sdcard fix applicable via CMW but it fails to reboot into recovery mode
and when it does it says installation aborted.
I have renamed the sd fix to update.zip
attempted to flash other roms via cwm but im just stuck.
and still unable to mount.
any help?
EDIT: Cant open /cache/update.zip (bad)
then i try again and it says
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
Device or Resource Busy

Sounds like you had a lagfix that wasn't disabled before you tried flashing. I would ODIN back to stock. ODIN doesnt recognize your phone in download mode? If not, then you re most likely SOL or need a JIG to get it working. BTW, this def didnt need its own post, it could have EASILY been added to the other "cant mount" posts
If its the normal 2.2 mounting issue. Take a gander at this.

[Help] My x10i is boot cycling after messing around

hi.
I already had my x10 with wolfbreak v6 and with rendeiro2005 (crowds) BlackEditionHD v0.2.
but I tried to restore user data and I f**ked up.
actual situation:
cycling boot.
when I try to reinstall wolfbreak or blackeditioHD roms, xrecovery says: ""can't mount /sdcard" and doesn't install.
last thing I did was to re-install the ftf bundle provided by wolfbreak (2.3.3 kernel and baseband .71 only).
need help, please
go to xrec wipe data dalvik, etc and fix premission
try again
if not
partition tools -> mount sd card if it is already mount the unmount card remount card
try then
if it still does not do the means the card is currupted. connect x10 to computer
go to partiton tooll-> mount usb storage copy every thing on hard drive.
not sure but format to fat32 copy your xrec file try to mount to xrec
try to do it again
when the the phone started format card via anroid

yes, but I can't install anything.
I choose "Install custom zip" and then I can navigate on sdcard folders. But when I select somthing to install it always gives the "can't mount /sdcard" error.
i havent readed prop.

already tried all those suggestions.
connecting x10 to computer and mounting usb storage didn't work too.
I can see the drive letter but I can't access it.
I can access sdcard files/folders using another phone.
and I can access it via adb shell too.
made a file copy via adb shell and it worked.
so it seems the sdcard is ok.
Problem solved
Solution:
had to install gingerbread ready xRecovery 0.3
used option A: in this post from zdzihu
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859571
I made an sdcard backup using another card-reader before.
I thought it would delete all sdcard content... but I was wrong.
thanks anyway

File not found [ after wipe ] HELP!!

Hi all,
i was trying to jump from kingdroid to criskelo what i did was:
i had already placed my rom in the internal sdcard.
installed CF-Root-SGN_XX_SEB_LQ3 through PC odin
went into cwm mode did a wipe
tried install zip from internal SD Card but now it says "file not found"
even rebooting dosent help it stays still at "Samsung galaxy note N 7000" logo
Kindly help
Thanks in advance.
Are you sure it's not on the other SD card?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
yes sir very sure even the other sd card says " E: Can't mount /sdcard/ "
That happens sometimes. Go to mounts and storage>mount /sdcard. Try toggling 'mount USB storage' a couple of times and try again. And you should really not flash anything with that kernel anyhow. Use the CM9 kernel.

as far as I'm concerned this error appears when you dont have external sd card inserted.
Are you sure, you chose "install from internal sd card"?

[Q] internal and external sd mounts read only

After connecting my phone to my computer for the first time after flashing topsmarts gb my computer recognized to seperate drives, a generic mass storage on e: and mot on f: which is the only one I have ever seen. I opened mot on F: and copied the romracer recovery .zip to it because I was trying to get cwm to recognize it as my recovery by installing rom from sd card.
When I unplugged the phone and went in to cwm I flashed the cwm recovery, then went to install rom from sd but the files that show up are not the same ones that are on mot F: they are the ones from the generic E:
So I think it is no big deal and go to astro and search for the zip and it is in mnt/emmc along with all the other files I am used to seeing, so i try to move it to mnt/sdcard and it tells me I can't because mnt/sdcard is read only.
So I can't change anything on my internal sd now and my external turns out is now read only too.
Is there a way to make the internal storage mount read/write again?
Help me please
Just tried flashing back to my stock rom and cwm says "md5 sum mismatch!"
I hate everything
I hope I explained this correctly, this is the first time I flashed a rom
EDIT: Just fixed the md5 mismatch error, restored from my stock backup and now phone sticks at bootloader. Ate some doritos and cried, but still no change.

S7390L slowly corrupted itself to death, need to recover files inside internal memory

My phone was slowly corrupting some files inside the external sd card, but I thought it might have been because I had named a file with a $ sign and it had some problems when I plugged the usb.
After I had taken the file out and deleted the corrupted files (Some of my game saves died too :crying, I thought it was going to be okay, but the corruption did go on after some time.
One day, when I was using the phone, suddenly, I got a white line accross the screen and the phone rebooted, then every time it turned on, it worked for 1~3 seconds then, again, white line and reboot.
Tried to fix it in various ways, turning off wi-fi, changing the brightness and things like that in the moment before it rebooted, but I couldn't make it work.
After some tries/time, it gave me an error saying it needed to be wiped and reseted, but I really need some files inside of it, so I didn't wipe it, and now it just stops at the samsung logo.
I can get it into recovery mode or that "custom rom" screen, by using the volume buttons when booting up, and I could even get it to show in adb when in recovery mode, but I can't mount the sd card with it (It always tells me I can't do it, something about privileges, I think).
I just wanted to get some files from the internal memory, after that, I think I'll be flashing it with CyanogenMod so it'll be a Android 4.4
But, for now, what can I do to recover those files?
Thanks in advance
Edit: Recovery menu says:
--init-recovery...
E: failed to mount /data (invalid argument)
can't mount /data (invalid argument)
Then it tries to apply "multi-csc" and after it "successfully applies" it, then it shows the "failed to moun /data" error again
Well the easiest way would be to flash TWRP recovery and use the file manager to copy the files that you need to your mem card... if u couldn't access the internal memory just mount it manually either from the option "mount sdcard" or use the a shell command.. I believe there is a terminal emulator there
