i have searched @ google but i found notting..
please help ; /
cheers,
Have u tryed using unrevoked again n updateing with Rom manager
Do u have another SD card
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
i cant use unrevoked and rom menager because my wf doesnt load os.. i was tryin to put update.zip and load it from sd card but it says "cant open E:/sdcard/update.zip (bad) installation aborted.", ive load even file as pc49img.zip, in bootloader it says it's parsing and it looks like everything is ok but still have no updatec cmw ;/.
and no i do not have another sd card ;/
Surely borrowing an SD card from some of your close ones shouldnt be an issue? Anyway, did you try using an RUU to get back to the default state?
i;ve tried to use ruu, it only sees my phone while the htc logo but it says it's not enough charged.. i think ill try to wait until green led comes up and try it again ;/

Sounds like you might have partitioned your card, and now are looking at two different partitions, one from windows, one from recovery. You could try repartitioning it from recovery, to make sure that you only have one FAT partition and one EXT and that they are in the correct order.
Mine has its FAT partition on p1, and ext2 on p2.
hey mate,
could you guide me how to do it? in recovery i have;
unmount system
unmount data
unmount cache
mount sd-card
when i click on mound sd-ext it says "ERROR MOUNTING SDEXT:!"
;/
i took off the sd card and formatted it then i mount it into the device and tried to choose zip file but it was unmounted in options so it didnt show me any files, next i've mounted sd card and left sd-ext unmounted and againt its the same, it shows me the old files which dont even exist anymore, i guess it maybe something with partitionin, but how to do it? could you guide me how to make one fat and one ext ? like u have? thx in advance
I partitioned mine from a linux PC with an SD card reader attached, but it should work from recovery as well.
From the Clockworkmod recovery menu, choose advanced and then partition sd card then choose the size you want for the ext partiton, then the size for the flash partition (if any). That should set them up correctly in the correct order.
Questions/Problems don't belong in the Development section <---please click link and read....moved to general...
i've wipped cache and during wippin it said that there is no sd-ext partiotion ; / it's something wrong with clockwork but i have no idea what.. it shows only the old files that i've loaded on sd before flashing with cm7 rc-2 ;/ the weird thing is that i remember that i updated cmw do newest 3.0.5... (something like that - the orange one) and it worked fine but next when i log into recovery it shows the older version oO
i successfuly manange to update cmw, i used adb in that purpouse and now everything works fine
So this was solved by using a tool from sdcard.org to format my sdcard in a PC. Once formatted with that tool cwm started seeing correctly.
-------
I'm running 3.1 rooted
I've flashed Thor's 1.4.2 recovery.
I have two sd cards: a 2g and an 8g.
Both work when accessed on a PC and on the iconia.
Neither work in cwm so I can't flash any roms.
I have tried formatting the sdcards on two different PCs. for the 2g I tried both fat and fat32. The 8g is fat32. In every case cwm says it can't mount it.
Additionally, I can't seem to use a USB key, although that may be that i don't know how to use it.
Thanks for any help.

When in CWM and you go to install zip from sdcard do you see any folders where you choose the zip. Just wondering if it isn't mounted already. Physical sdcard is in /mnt/external_sd
and not /mnt/sdcard.

Thanks for your reply. I'm prety sure It's not mounted already.
I'm attaching a screenshot to show the exact message I get when trying to browse for a zip. I get a similar message when I go to mounts and storage and try to mount the sdcard.
im bumping this because I'm really becoming concerned that the device is defective in some way.
I'm hoping that someone can give me some guidence on what I may be doing wrong.
So, brosell, did you figure out a solution? I have the exact same problem - cannot mount sdcard in recovery and I get the exact same message.
When the system is booted normally, the internal storage mounts ok as /sdcard
EDIT:
It seems CWM treats the external sdcard as /sdcard, not the internal storage. So, to flash an update, you need to place it on an external SD card
I always get that error, and I never had to mount anything using cwm, just booted it selected the zip to flash and flash. I still don't mount anything...?
And the zip goes on the external sd not the inturn
Can't format SC Card in Window. If won't mount.
Guys,
Unfortunately SD cards for Android must be formatted by Android. If the card is not properly formatted CWM can not mount it, nor can CWM format it. The best way to get it properly formatted is to put it into an Android Phone and use its format functions. There really is no way on the Icona Tab to reformat an improperly formatted card or a new formatted card. If you don't have an Android phone borrow a friends. You will know that it is properly formatted when you see a lost files folder created on the card by the Android phone formatting process. This is a common problem that many people encounter when performing their first ROM flash. If it was formatted under windows as FAT 32 you can access it and store on it in normal operation mode. But ClockWorkMod can not mount it in recovery mode. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Can mount SD card in Recovery
I should have also mentioned last night in my post here, that my experience has been that it is much easier to flash a new custom ROM from a USB thumb drive. Flashing a custom ROM from USB seems to be less problematic than from an SDCard that appears otherwise to be good and formatted with FAT32, but CWM can't mount it. You can fast format the thumb drive on Windows to clean it off. Then copy your custom .zip ROM to be flashed on to the thumb drive from within Windows then insert it into the USB port of your Icona Tab, boot into CWM recovery (I'm assuming you know how to do that so I won't go into it here.) I forget exactly where in the CWM menu it is, it might be under the CWM advanced sub-menu but it say's something to the effect of Install zip from USB. It always works for me with no problem. The advantage is that you do all your prep work on Windows and then flash from the thumb drive which I believe has an ISO standard across all platforms and usually comes already per-formatted. This is an alternative method if you can't get your SDCard properly formatted (see my previous post in this thread for how to get it properly formatted so that it will mount under CWM.) Again, good luck!
I want to cry!!
I tried re formatting! Nothing! Cmw is not on sd card! Nothing is working! Still stuck on acer start screen! Yes i am a noob! But i read alot into this stuff b4 i do it! I wish there was someone i can have come to my house and do this for me! I have tried everything!!!!!!!!!!! So frustrated!!! Someone pls help me!!!!
in CWM recovery, there are 2 options,sd and "internal sd" i think(for me atleast). i chose the internal sd and it mounts.

thanks brosell, for the solution,
I have a 512MB SD card in the g5360, was FAT formatted. reformatting the sdcard with the tool from sdcard.org worked for me as well, afterwards it could be mounted by the stock recovery
and could install update.zip (prior to install CMW)

Ok guys, so here is the deal
The phone was rooted and Oxygen ROM installed, but it has a major problem: The USB Mass Storage DOES NOT WORK! And the android market keeps closing(Force Close).
To install another ROM, you need to put files on your internal memory(the zip with the rom), but since the USB Mass Storage does not work, it seems "impossible".
You can't download files to the phone's internal memory, it asks for and SD Card.
Already tried putting the zip on external SD Card and then using ES File Explorer move it to Phone, but a message pops up saying that the file cannot be moved.
So the question is how to install another rom, or at least fix the USB Mass Storage problem. Is it possible to use external SD Card files on Clockwork Recovery like "install zip form SD Card"?
Also the internal memory and RAM capacity are not being shown correctly.
Thanks in advance!
dude it simple , if ur usb mode i not detected then take out the memory card and use a memory card reader to put other rom zip , if u dont have card reader then put the card in some other mobile fone use it to put the files . problem solved
It does read the external SD Card, but there is no option in ClockWork Recovery to install a zip from an external SD Card...
If you have oxygen installed, then you have the custom recovery image, which definately have an option to install zip from sdcard.

Tried through ROM manager, comes up with an error
SD Card marker not found...
Error verfying extendedcommand
And when you chose "Install Zip From SD Card", it goes to phone memory, which is kinda locked, cus you can still install the oxygen rom that's in there, but cannot place new files, already tried through ES Explorer(it fails).
Any suggestions?
I have the exact same problem, a solution I read somewhere is rebooting into recovery mode, and then go to "mounts and storage". There mount sdcard and usb storage.
Didn't work for me though, it gives "E:Unable to write to ums lunfile (no such file or directory)
edit: it's your lucky day, I just solved it after 3 hours of work ;D
what I did was:
- Go to recovery mode
- installed adb drivers (can't post URL because of not having 8 posts, i'll pm them if you want)
- put the cyanogenmod zip in the adb folder (for me "C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools"
-opened up a command prompt and typed "adb push cgm.zip /sdcard
-then I installed from zip. phew!

Yeah! That would be cool!
But where will i install those drivers? Tried copying cyanogenmod zip file from SD card to phone using ES Epxlorer and it failed... Tried creating new folder and it failed...
EDIT:
Oh... ADB drivers on PC...

and did it work for you?
Finally took the unlock/root/rom plunge and have been enjoying ICS (nightly 14) for a few days now. With nightly 16 it seemed to make sense to update. When i put the .zip on the SD card and tried to use CWMOD to install it gave an error "(Bad)" on the operation after opening the ZIP.
i downloaded again, tried again, no change, then started messing around to get it to work (should have known better). Now, if I boot in CWMOD and select install zip from SD / choose ZIP i see all the folders on my internal memory: all the folders for alarms. music, pictures, etc. I can put the release .zip in there and it will see it, but still fails on the install.
If I look with root explorer (or other tools) when i look in mnt/sdcard it has all the folders for alarms. music, pictures, etc. I can also see /mnt/external1 which is the SD card and does have the files on it.
once booted, from PC I see "Internal Storage" and "SD Card" which look as i would expect and contain the correct files (ie: "SD Card" contains the ROM files)
I've tried another SD card, with no change.
So, somehow i think i have a pointer messed up so SD points to internal memory.
I've tried all the wipes i can find, but can't get past it. Any suggestions on how to reset, or wipe it more fully, would be appreciated.

You see everything in your internal storage (32gb) also called sdcard, because I think you allowed Rom Manager to update your recovery to whatever is newest (4.0.0.4 ?) but that version doesn't play nice with the Xoom's external micro sdcard. This is a known issue, and I and others have written about this a million times, but anyway, you need to reflash the solarnz R4c recovery v 3.2. 0.0 image file through fastboot with your micro sdcard mounted in your Xoom. Then, after that, you can flash from the micro sdcard to your heart's content. The micro sdcard is located at mnt/external1. I don't even use Rom Manager for anything. If you just press the power button as if to actually power down, I think you'll get the boot menu to boot into recovery very easily, if you don't feel comfortable doing it manually. Or you can download Quick Boot.

I recall having a similar issue with loading zip files onto the SD card and then trying to flash it just to get an error.
The only was I had a work around for that was to only load the zip file THROUGH CWM. By selecting Mounts and storage > Mount USB, then it takes up to 1 minute for my computer to see the sdcard (removable disk). Then I just transfer the zip to the SD card by this method and then when its done, I return to the main menu and go about the process of flashing.
The rogue recovery works just as well and has a few more options than the tiamat recovery. It also supports internal and external sdcards as well as toggling the backup and/or wipe of /data/media. Just my opinion and preference.

Hey,
I rooted, flashed my Slider. Everything was working, exept I couldnt find any ROM Zips on my SD Card to install, so the SD was working, showing all folders, except the Zip with ROMS i moved to it.
Now i downloaded new CM10 ROMs trough Rom Manger, rebootet to CWM, did a wull wipe but now I cant do anything.
it says:
E: can`t mount /sdcard/
If i try to boot it stucks forever in Cyanogenmod Bootscreen
thanks for helping me
PS: i tried 4 different SD Cards from 1GB, 2GB, 16GB size
So you're not able to get your internal storage mounted in CWM?
