Try a few like Franco, Faux, Trinity and others and keep the one you like most. This is the best advice i can give you as different users will have different usage for their phones, so it is very subjective

You have to try them and see what performs the best for, under clocking and such. I swear by Trinity, battery efficient and fast. I've tried all the kernels and judged for myself which suits me better. Best way to do it everyone's views will be subjective.
Also best kernel related questions usually get closed so good luck in your hunt for a kernel.

An other question then.. Which app should i use to "control" the kernel feature ?

Most kernel devs have their own control apps (also includes color- and sound enhancements) available in Google Play.

Use the AOKP M6 its the best ,fast very stable.
I would say CM9. Because.....
-Built from the ground up from aosp. Makes it very clean
-Very Smooth, much smoother than GB
-Tons of other options such as lockscreen shortcuts, theme engine, status bar toggles etc.
-Lots of support
-Updated VERY frequently
-Almost No bugs.
I'd recommend CM9 or AOKP. Both can be found in the dev section here.
I've tried most ics and I'd definitely have to say slim ics.
It has strict rules about keeping it light so you can definitely expect serious performance from this one (most likely better than the rest) yet has all the cool bells and whistles from the kang project like customized toggles, battery indicators, bln, etc.
It's updated frequently when the author thinks something happens that warrants an update (like the linaro thing). Your phone will even notify you when a new rom update is available.
No bug fixes because, to be honest, i've been running it for a few months and I'm yet to find a bug. If you look through this rom's dev thread you'll find most people joke about something else because there are that few problems to talk about in this rom. They will seriously answer, however, if a real problem is posted.
The only thing to take care is the default launcher. Dev has included lightning launcher (for lightness purposes). For as awesome as it may be, most people find it a ***** to customize and just end up installing nova or apex launchers.
Battery's fine - lasts the day with heavy use, it's all i ask. Def lasts longer if i did less.
Some of my uses for this rom:
Heavy texting / phonecalls
Friendscaster (aka facebook whith awesome widget)
Bluetooth connection with my car (stream mp3 and handsfree, contacts even show in my car)
Heavy book/manga reading
Video watching, yt, flash pages, movies/series to kill time
Web browsing ( default browser is actually very good, plays flash like a champ)
Torrent downloading
Gps (my gps never ever worked no matter what. It's actually borderline usable with this rom)
Xda
Listen some music
Take pictures (very good camera, you can check my cat in the "show your best shots: thread)
Manage my calendar and quick notes
Document editing (gdocs)
Play some games (I'm on max payne atm)
Etc
If nothing else, definitely worths the shot. Try it out.
Elite's also good, or at least was when i left it.

I also vote for slim ics. I really like the idea about barebones rom with few apps but tons of settings. It's also fast, stable and updates have been good quality.

I will say this.......there are so many threads that ask this same question that to create another one is purely proof of one's inability to read, think, test and form ones own opinion....because that is all you get-...opinions, some people want loads of customization, some want loads of bells and whistles, some want it slim as possible .......but everyone is hoping that you.............LEARN TO READ.

There are recently 2 noobs that create all of these annoying threads. I can't get it.
I vote for Infinitum LBR (sadly not updated anymore)
And ICS333.
Because they both work smoothly. Infinitum had a nicer notification bar however.

Which is the most lightweight and smooth ROM?

I want a light ROM with low battery consumption. I use few apps that include most:
facebook,
surf in the web
instant messenger
NO games
Thanks
I don't really think questions like this would be entertained. I think you should explore every rom found here.

low battery and ram consumption can be done using init.d tweaks as well. search for it
and if you want rom, you can use evo-x4. also hyperion is better.
please use the search box, its for user convenience. dont create new threads for common questions. thanks

This is correct. Every device is built different, why not try every ROM for yourself?
As most of these "best ROM" threads turn into arguments/flame wars, I've closed this thread

[Q] Wich rom for me please ?

...yet another wich rom thread
Yeah, coming from a Razr i wich has only 2 roms and a few variants of them, the task is not the same.
I wont ask you wich is the BEST (omagad-everything-else-is crap), just wich ones you think fits my -not so- particular needs:
- I don't really care about massive eye candy customisation all over the place (nor does it bothers me), but still I'd like something that looks good, no flashy comic ms, that sort of thing
- I'd like to have a really good and powerful sound, as I eat mp3 everyday
- battery life !
- neat functions are a plus, but there is not much xposed can't do, so yeah, just a plus.
- debloated to the bone
- I can cope with some beta crash here and there.
Thank you !

Try CloudyPro or Cloudystock. They come with some neat features, are totally stable, and have awesome battery life. With any ROM I get about 5-6 hours of screen-on time daily with moderate to heavy usage.
Will do thank you.
Also forgot and added:
- debloated to the bone

But I suppose most rom are.
CloudyRoms aren't really debloated but they are smooth as butter and have very good battery life. And they are very stable which isn't necessarily the case with heavily customized roms..

Purity ROM + which kernel?

Hey guys. I'm looking to flash a kernel on my Nexus 4, 4.4.2 Purity ROM. It's my first kernel ever and I'm looking to get better battery life. I don't play much games, I mostly listen to music, watch YouTube, do Facebook, browse the Internet and similar.
So i guess the most important thing is battery life. If you guys have any suggestions, please let me know, I have no idea how to find one myself.
Thanks!

You have to experiment the kernels on your own and find which one is right for your needs. Everyone will have a subjective choice as to what is better for their daily needs.
Kernels are personal choice, try some and check for yourself. Personally I prefer Franco kernel.

I would try Matr1x. You can get really low UV values (-87.5mv, 192mhz > 662500uvolts), tweakable screen color with support for profiles, and 192 mhz support.
Purity + Franco gives great battery and performance!

Hi... Everyone's definition of battery life/performance can differ. Some people play games, some watch videos, some only browse internet or text with their phone. If you give more details about your usage, you may have better feedback/suggestions.
Anyway, as stated by @redduc900, I think you will find better infos from the thread linked in his post... :good:
Personally, i use my phone for web browsing, SMS/MMS texting, YouTube, email, music listening. I'm currently running EX Kernel with GhostPepper profile on my N6P. I don't experience lag though it's a battery friendly profile.
Cheers...
I use Wingoku or HawkTail and have had amazing battery life.

Hey... So why not just ask in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...dvanced-interactive-governor-t3290605/page473
Several users who are used to make profiles share their work and results in this thread. So you may get a proper answer explaining your goal as you did here. Maybe post saying what profiles you already tried and also what you liked/dislike about them. This way people will be more likely to guide you in the good direction. :good:
Good luck...

No problem... The only help I provided here was to show you where you can "search" for the right information you are looking for! If you end up using a profile based on a few suggestions, which are subjective by the way, since everyone has different phone usage/apps. You would likely miss the one that's best for "your" usage.
If you read the other thread, you can try by yourself and judge by yourself. You'll find out the purpose of each profile. If it aims towards performance, battery economy or maybe a bit of both. Once you are decided, it's "your" choice! Based on your needs and your search. Not an assumption made on others feedback.
(That's the way everyone should do on XDA in my opinion).
Glad I could help by the way...
