[Q] Stock SMS Quick Reply in Notification - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know how to turn it on? I got my Nexus 4 last week. Love it great battery life. For some reason I cant get the quick reply in my notification. Phone is 4.2.2 and i've checked settings. I miss having it on my nexus s4g.

HTC's STOCK task bar?

Im asking this for a friend, I dont use the stock task bar lol
there is an icon on it, which for the life of me I cant work out what it means!
Its a phone, with an almost zigzag sign through it.
And no, its no bluetooth lol
thanks allot guys
EDIT:
With my amazingly laziness, i forgot to ask the question...
What the hell is that icon?!
Right next to the battery symbol? Then it's the sign that your phone is set to vibration only instead of playing a sound when being called...

Call time and txt counter widget ????

Guys Is there a widget that will show your remaining txt and call time ? I have seen this somewhere but for the life of me cant remember where ? or what it was called ?
droid stats?
nope it was not that one. I seen that. Its like 2 widgets that are on the screen and tells you how many min you have used and how many txts like a running total ?
would put you in mind of the bluetooth on/off icon
One was mentioned in the screenshot thread. Not too far back iirc.

YES MOTOROLA! YES!
It seems they moved the Active Display to the PlayStore aswell, this is the way to do it!
According to this:

Edit: Although it says it's not compatible on my XT1058
Edit2: According to Punit Soni, it's available from KitKat and on

They fixed the unlock delay!!!!
Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk
didnt fix my lag.
This really ruined the unlock from active display. I reverted back to the old one. I never really had any problems with it.
Might as well ask here.
If I get a text message and access it through Active Notifications then the phone goes to the text message app and displays the message. BUT it seems that if the last app I was in WAS the messaging app and it was still open it goes there but just shows me where I was before.
Could be going crazy of course.

New phone, not really familiar with "before"
Ok so I'll ask here so I don't open another thread:
Is there a way to get the battery percentage on the active screen when "breathing" the time? You know, cuz us that are obsessed with our battery life need more notification for it.
Installed !!!
No more active display delay !!! :victory:

Phone lags when receiving text messages

I guess the title is pretty self explanatory. I'm not rooted and running the latest updates from Tmo. This has been a issue since the first day I bought the phone but I guess now it's getting to me. I've tried the stock messaging app as well as Chomp, Textra and Handcent and it's the same thing. No matter what I'm doing, when I get a text message the phone freezes/lags. I can pretty much predict when I have one coming because of it. This is first phone I can remember having this issue. Old gf of mine used to have the S5 complained of the same thing and this is my first Samsung device in a long time. Wanted to know if it's my phone or just the way TW handles incoming messages.
Doesn't happen on mine.

Yeah I was kinda thinking the same thing. I was hanging on to a thread of hope but it is dashed now. LOL. Thanks for confirming. It didn't seem like something that millions of people would put up with.
Im having the same issue

Isn't there any option like show new message as Popup or extra action for new messages?
Please test Google Messenger App with default setting and also uninstall others and disable the stock messaging app.
let me know if still there is problem.

Yeah that didn't work either. It must be my phone. I don't know what could be wrong that it only happens when I get a text but oh well. On to the S8

Official OREO has rolled out

Use BK Disabler and clear the data for Software Update. You should be able to check again. I believe you can only check once every 24 hours or so. Good Luck.
I just used Odin to go back to nougat and as soon as I could get to my settings I was able to get the OTA.

Easiest way to keep checking is to advance your phone's clock ahead one day then try again. Just remember to turn the auto clock detection setting back on.

Go in and change the date on your phone ahead one day or 2 and it should let you check for updates again.

Mine did that as well for months. My last update was when I bought the phone back in Nov. I did the update.zip method and used Smart Switch to backup all to MicroSD card.
Received this update today without needing to change the date. Running nicely so far, just wish the gif keyboard wasn't removed for us.

I have it on mine as you can see in this screenshot. When I heard the update was coming today, I factory reset before I took it. When it booted up, it updated during the setup process.
Edit: wait, are we talking about the same thing? Do you mean the feature where you can draw a gif message?

Not the live message, I have that. There is a gif option on the keyboard from other carriers. For some reason AT&T left it out.
In developers options there is the ability to change Bluetooth Audio Codec to SBC (default) to Aptx, Ldac, etc. If you change that it doesnt stick and it resets itself to SBC. Bummer.
Also the only option that does seem to seem concerning Bluetooth and Developers Options is Bluetooth AVRCP Version. AVRCP 1.4 is default but changing to AVRCP 1.6 seems to stick.
Meant to post this last night. Here's screenshots of my for full use of the OTA Oreo. I'm a teacher on spring break so I messed around with it a lot yesterday getting all my settings and apps set up.
So I decided to try the Samsung Experience 9. The badge number for Gmail isn't showing the proper numbers. Anything beyond one unread email shows some stupid huge numbers, such as 4 unread email, but the badge showed 169 ... LOL So, this is still buggy.

Yeah this is the only thing about the new update that is bugging me. The badge numbers can be way off. Other than that I am really enjoying the new update and my phone is so fast now.

Don't know what's worse... badges with wrong numbers or badges that don't come on at all. I get none at all. And I even factory reset before I took the update. I got no clue, even after spending tons of time digging through settings
