great...this puts Cyanogen Mod on the same level als Apple.
1. I don't have unlimited Data.
2. I don't like my usage monitored...not even anonymously.
It would be ok to send them once per install/update a data package....but not all the time.

Would be nice...as I use vanilla cm10.1 for the N7100.
I just updated to the last built without this commit and I will stay there as long as this commit is in every built.
Iditotic phone home commit removed!

If you don't like it don't use the ROM then, you're not paying a goddamn thing for it, and they're not getting any personal information from it.

If anything, it puts it on the same level as Google. Google's the one who collects all data and gets all those privacy scandals.
Apple's just a control freak. If CM was on Apple's level, it'd be locked down to hell, with source code possibly closed, but it would also be the smoothest rom on the market.

Yeah pretty much. And CM still listens to its users, even the minority, while they don't have to. So :good: on them.
I enable stats all the time to help out the awesome project that CM is.
Its only sounds like he wants to know the exact amount of users instead of monitoring anything you do

Under most popular apps, #6 is an app that monitors your service time if you're a Jehova's Witness. Really?

I agree...horrible organization and what not, if theres one thing that makes the iPhone what it is..it's the ease of the app store and the number of apps, not to mention there quality apps. One of the few things Google could learn from Apple.
Lmao, I had to check for myself, and sure enough.. It was there lol. I guess a lot of jehovas use Android.
I had to check.....
You would think Google would have some kind of relevant idea of how to properly organize, sort, and search data. I think might be cool for them to move into that field of research. What? That is Google's business?
on a serious note.. wtf is up with the market anyways, very poor features.. why cant we search by downloads number? rating? seems like basic functionality requirements of a marketplace to me.
sigh..
I believe that the best seller apps update or are reset once a month or once a week. That's the only explanation I have.
Is there somewhere to make an official request for a market filter (blacklist)? I would love to be able to blacklist publishers so they don't show in my search or any listing in the market. Genwi comes to mind as a garbage publisher that needs blacklisted.
Also, do "test" apps have to show up in the main Market? Really?? Come on.... Maybe devs should have their own sandbox market to play with.
That'll be great
What a joke, now that Jehova's Witness crap is #4. Is that organization paying Google or is the Market organization just ****ing retarded? I know that's not the 4th best selling app.
I love my nexus, but the whole market/app thing seems to be way over googles heads.
I sure hope we're not waiting for Froyo to get a better market.

Why did that not have froyo on the phone when it was released? Froyo was out for a while before the phone was released, so does anybody have any idea why they didn't start out with froyo? Did they like ecairs better than ice cream? Who knows?

The development cycles on these phones is 6 or 7 months if not longer. When they started on the phone, FroYo probably wasn't to manufacturers yet. It is not easy at all to change course with software projects. And incredibly expensive to chunk everything that you have and start over. So they build it on eclair, and work on FroYo when its released, also you have all of the politics involved about which phones in your lineup gets updated, how many developers to put on each piece of hardware. I don't think most people realize the amount of planning that goes into any software written for profit. You'd probably **** your self if you saw some of my Gantt Charts, time lines, flow charts and other various wastes of paper that are done before a single line of code is typed (with the exception of prototyping) You can't just take a leap and start coding, switch gears 11 times, then hope to ever hit a deadline or budget. There isn't a lot of cost in the actual product of software, but the minds that power it are not cheap labor.

Let's face it once google announced the ics as the next version of android why do some people still want gb when ics can be leaked and used on our phones. Google needs to be the one doing the updates not the carriers and phone makers. Google should open a beta and prebeta builds to all who want them.

For someone who's been around since the 70's you seem to not understand the development life cycle of a product to be expecting such an asinine thing to happen.
Using win7 (retail) to win8 (alpha) argument proves your failure to grasp that.
BTW, i love how decad3nce pwned your last post. LOL

Because to us Gingerbread is the most important release ever! Gingerbread was made with Hummingbird in mind..ICS is a huge improvement for dual core phones..while we definitely get some new features, you would not notice such huge performance increases as you do with Gingerbread.
Locked. OP, check your pm's.

Nextbit Baton offers several benefits to users, including:
Sync: Keeps apps and data in sync across multiple devices, allowing users to move fluidly from one device to the next without missing a beat.
Pass: Send any open app in its current state to another device, saving time and eliminating the tedious process of manually finding and opening apps on different devices.
Backup and restore: Save apps and data to your Nextbit profile in the cloud, so you can always get your apps back on any device.
Nextbit’s private beta is exclusively on CyanogenMod, the leading open-source, community-driven Android OS backed by Cyanogen Inc. The future public release of Nextbit will be available first on the commercially distributed Cyanogen operating system.
“Cyanogen continues to reimagine Android by introducing bold new firsts,” said Kirt McMaster, CEO of Cyanogen. “Nextbit represents one of these platform firsts that could only manifest on a truly open Android. We enable Baton to become a native OS level feature, creating huge benefit for our users.”

This is adaway with more host files. The EXACT same. You could have better used your "skills" to help further adaway instead of a whole "new" copycat.

First, I've been developing on Android since donut so slow your role bud. Secondly, this exact bs can be done within a few hours. This is NOT a great thing, it's a rip-off of adaway with more host files added. If you had any idea what you're talking about then you'd easily see it. I can't stand frauds like these so called "developers" that add nothing to the community.

lol this thread was moved! And, just noticed this!
So, merging hosts isn't something, really? Converting Non-Hosts to Hosts, isn't really something? Removing dead/inactive domains to make it more compact, really isn't something? Trying to make a better open internet, by blocking all the annoyances out there, isn't anything good? Really? And, you can do this in hours? Wow! You really are great at this.
But we aren't, that's why we are trying to be better. You could just avoid us. You don't fit here posting, that you are great!
