[Q] stuck on clockworkmod recovery - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

earlier today, i was trying to make a backup, but i had the red exclamation logo when i went into clockwork mod recovery mod, so i flashed a newer version of clockwork mod using flashboot fast boot. After that, clockwork mod worked, and i made my ndroid back up. now, i cant leave clockwork mod. if i select "reboot system now", clockwork mod would open again. i am able to get into bootloader mode by holding onto volume up and power, but if i press "start", it would go back into clockwork mod.i also tried to restore the phone using the backup, but that didnt help..is there anyway i can get out of clockwork mod?

Do you have a ROM installed?

no, it's only rooted

maybe u can try flash TWRP. to check maybe it can boot up your rom.

[Q] Needing to get froyo on my HTC Magic

So I downloaded Clockwork Mod onto my phone and I have root access (thanks to AndRoot) -- so I've been able to flash the ClockworkMod recovery or the RA recovery onto my phone.
However it won't let me boot into the recovery mode (HOME+POWER).
The odd time I can boot into the Clockwork recovery, but as soon as a screen comes up it immediately reboots and then it won't let me boot up.
With RA recovery it wont' get me into anything....
Any suggestions? It's an HTC Magic (Rogers), so it's a 32A phone (as far as I know) and it's really a pain living with just 2.1.
When flashing RA recovery, are you using H? G is for 32B.
yup it was like 1.70h or whatever... made sure of that
but it would never boot into recovery mode...
Dwnload rom manager from market. The app has an option to reboot into recovery. I haven't tried it personally but hope it helps.
i've tried rebooting into the mode that way... still when it reboots and just as i see something it reboots automatically again... and then it'll just come up with that warning screen and i'll have to pull the battery

Dead recovery console?

So I was rooted with Clockword recovery. I just updated rom manager to 3.0.0.0 and flashed the new recovery image with it. Through the UI, I tried to do a backup but when the phone restarted, it was stuck at the fastboot screen. I tried to manually go into Recovery, but the screen goes black -> google -> fastboot. Tried to turn it off and hold volume ^ + power = fastboot but still can't get into recovery.
Advice?

As long as you can still get into fastboot you should be recoverable. Head over the development section and grab a copy of the CWM 2 recovery image and try re-flashing it. That should at least put you back to where you can get into Recovery.
You could also try the stock recovery image in one of the threads there, but I've seen reports that it doesn't boot either.
Here's the thread for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875875

[Q] Help! Recovery bug?

Ok so I flashed the root clockwork file with Odin, then superoneclick.
I wanted to test the recovery going into download mode but still no recovery (had to reflash the clockwork file with Odin again to get out from download mode).
So I downloaded from the market Rom Manager and installed it, then I downloaded and installed clockwork recovery from Rom manager choosing ''galaxy S2''
Then I choosed ''reboot into recovery'' as I always did with previous phones to go directly into recovery.
The phone shuted down quicker than usual, then rebooted with a yellow triangle AND a green Droid!
I had to pull the battery then put it back...then I was into clockwork recovery menu
What happened?
It will occur everytime or only first time? It's really a big operation to open the battery cover

[Q] Booting into clockwork recovery

I'm running an old version of GummyJAR and am trying to switch over to CM7 official nightlies. My phone is already rooted and I installed Clockwork Recovery from ROM Manager. However, when I boot into bootstrap from poweroff it just says:
Bootloader
30.04
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
There's no options to select from or anything. When I boot into Clockwork with ROM Manager, my phone just reboots and starts up normally again. Am I missing something here?
When you say you are booting into bootstrap (the screen that says 30.04) you are actually booting into the bootloader that we use to sbf the phone, not recovery.
Now as for not getting into recovery from bootstrap on the phone, you may want to go into rom manager and reflash the latest recovery, and then boot into recovery from rom manager. That may solve the problem.
I hope this helps!

Problem flashing Clockwork Recovery

I installed ClockworkMod Recovery using ROM Manager and I'm trying to boot into recovery, when it restarted it verified the stuff then got stuck on "Replacing Stock Recovery with Clockwork Recovery", it's now been like that for 8 hours.
It's the White version and I don't use the phone with it so it has no SIM card at the moment.
Do you have root? If it won't continue, download the recovery from here. Make sure there is no images folder on your memory card.
Then boot your phone while holding vol+ vol- and power. When your phone is in pink screen, plug it into computer and copy recovery.img and backup the exisisting one and then overwrite it. Then reboot the phone by taking battery off, and boot it while holding vol+, you should be done.
That worked I now have clockwork mod recovery but when i select reboot system now it boots back into recovery. How do I now apply miui image when I don't already have it on the sdcard.
Just tried applying at it keeps rebooting into recovery.
