For the sake of not littering up the dev thread and the ridicule of my fellow members I have a quick question. I installed the PACman rom and j would like to flash a new kernel. I follow direction really well and I know what I need to do to flash a new kernel. But in a custom rom I would like to know its safe to do so. And maybe try and flash some mods as well.
As long and I follow the directions that the devs post I should be fine and not brick my tablet.

Hey guys,
i bought the Nexus 4 and already rooted it. I'm running JB 4.2.2 stock.
I'd like to remain on the stock ROM, but i am willing to change the kernel in order to be able to extend the battery life.
Undervolting would be nice, too
So which kernel would you recommend?
Never flashed a kernel before, so a how-to (for noobs) for flashing that kernel would ne nice
Thanks!

Best kernels/roms/mods etc threads are not allowed. This thread will be closed soon. Look in the original android development thread .http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1912 There are customs kernels you can flash available in zip files and boot.img`s.

You can post them in the ROM threads. I would start with Matrix kernel.

Finding your answer doesn't have to mean asking more questions and it certainly doesn't mean you create a new thread to ask it.
Search, read, search some more, download, test and then compare for yourself... Everyone's device and usage are different and so are their opinions.
That is why any Best ROM or Best Kernel or Best Device thread is a waste of time.
Thread closed.
I am going to root my nexus but am not going to install a custom ROM because what am running right now is fine but I want to install a custom kernel to remove the lag and have good battery life also stability someone please help am new to nexus 7 but not too rooting or installing customer Roms

If you are not the new to flashing then you are not new to xda and should know we aren't just going to hand things to you if you don't wanna do it yourself. Try them out and find out what you need.

Could just browse around the forums, people tend to advertise their kernels quite a bit in their sigs.
Hi guys, i want change ROM on my N4 but I'm very undecided on which rom choose: CyanogenMOD, Paranoid or AOKP.
In your opinion what are the pros of the different rom to decide which one to use?
Read each ROMs respective thread and try them out for yourself, that's the only way you'll find the ROM that's right for you

Agreed, although I use the same setup as yours so I think that's saying something.

And the best kernel? It better custom ROM's kernel o franco kernel?
There's no best, every device handles them differently. The mods are gonna close this thread

If you want some of all then try the PACman ROM! It has features of CM, PA and AOSP

Please post question in the Q&A forum. Also, "best" ROM/kernel threads are not allowed. Read/search and take the incredibly simple route and try them for yourself.

Hello there!
I am a happy Nexus 4 owner!
And I am using CyanogenMod 11.
But I need a custom kernel which supports touch2wake, slide2wake and these kind of stuff.
I found some answers here on XDA, but nearly none of them provided a link.
So, any suggestions that come with a link?
Thanks!
