Backing UP / Extracting Up Current Rom

Hi all,
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, i've had a look round but couldn't see anything.
Is there a way to backup or extract my current O2 UK Rom? I totally srewed my motherboard last time i tried to use another rom on my xda orbit as it wasn't cid unlocked. doh! Anyway i've had my motherboard replaced by O2 and was planning to get my device CID unlocked and install another rom but i would like a backup of the original O2 UK Rom just in case it all goes pair shaped.
Oh yeah forgot to mention that i currently use spb backup to backup my device but i dont think you can restore the image from the bootloader menu.

Not as of now,spb back up works for phone data etc not for rom images,lets hope someone comes up with a solution soon.

Ok... just to show that there is no problem sending the s/n.
If yoy try HT99PLG01xxx with xxxx = 0-9 and play a little with
numbers you can find a lot of compinations where the result is
"Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device."
but the s/n is for tattoo. Just one from orange give as how the
pattern look like.

It's not working.

How do you root this Rom? I flashed before root and i'm stuck now without root.
I do have Gold card.

You should try the one click root method.

Just tested it.
1) Backed it up existing rooted 1.67.405.xx with Nandroid
2) Upgraded with ROM Upgrade for HTC Tattoo (Orange)
3) Applied UNLOCK code bought from Orange UK which worked fine with new ROM
4) Rolled back nandroid backup
I am happy now.
Did not notice anything new, again Google Apps was not there again. Now thinking about Paul's ROM.

Well, everyone who has bought the phone from India will be using the 1.32.720.5 ROM.
I'm looking for it too so I can root and try out other ROMs and if I ever need to claim warranty, I can quickly jump back to the original ROM it came with. I still can't seem to find it(1.32.720.5) though.
If anyone could upload this ROM to xdafiles, it would be great

I´m hopping to flash the new radios on this phone, to see if I can get it to work with our local provider with 3g. Currently it only connects as Edge.
I own a Diamond Touch, with a lot of firmware and radio modifications, and it worked excelent on the same simcard with 3g on almost every place.
I´m willing to do a backup (dump) of my fresh room. Can you point me out to a tutorial on how to bulk the room so we can have the backup that you are talking about?

I am pretty new at this stuff.
Hoping some of the devs out here can help us out....

I followed some tutorials on how to root and s-off and radio-off the phone. They seemed to work just fine.
Then i installed a market application called Rom Manager, and after flashing a custom bootloader, and backing up the old bootloader (so it seems), I did a Rom Backup.
It´s quite bigger than I expected it to be. I´m doing a RAR of it.
Not sure if the "DATA.img" file that get´s created has already the personal data that was on the phone at the time of the backup, so probably not such a good idea to post the "rom" until i get confirmation from somebody of what are the rom.img files that really matter.
Gonna subscribe to this tread to keep an eye on it to see if my backup rom can be of any help.
Any of you guys has encounter any trouble trying to access 3g network with it?

Please can you tell me what ur Stock CID

Where can I find the Stock CID?

System Info

Sorry. I have already flashed a custom firmware... All the info that I got before flashing was posted before. If there`s no CID info there, then I`m afraid now it`s too late.
anyway, I can`t find System info on the phone.
I found Settings / About / Software information. All the info there I posted at the start, as the info that I got when i entered bootloader.
Not sure if the CID would make the rom different or what.

How to backup ROM, I have the official firmware.

To backup.
I unfortunatelly returned the phone to the seller last week... I bought the wrong 3g band. (Need 850-1900 for Colombia).
Anyway if I recall what I did for backing up the firmware:
1. Root the device (without backing up), using visionary R14. Look for download link on the forum, and instructions. Hopefully you won´t be needing to downgrade first, as it could be more complicated.
2. Install Rom Manager from the Market.
3. Run Rom Manager, it has an option to make a full backup. It will create the bootloader backup and also the firmware backup, both on the SD.
4. Copy the backup files on a safe place. Sometimes the SD can get messed up when flashing so it´s safer to have the backup on a secondary external place like a pc or a cd. (i think they where 4 files on the root of the SD, and one folder on the backup folder of Rom Manager, inside the SD).
That´s it for backing up.
Now for starting with flashing new firmwares you will also need (now safer to do) to S-off and Radio S-Off the device. The forum has really nice tutorials on how to easily achieve this other tasks.

Just a quick guide on how to change GSM M8s to other variants
This guide will show you how to change your GSM M8 into any other GSM variant (apart from GPE - theres a thread for that!!) Just pick the files and info within the links below relevant to what you want to convert to
READ THIS BEFORE YOU BEGIN!!!! This will work for GSM phones only YOU WILL BRICK IF YOU ATTEMPT THIS ON A CDMA PHONE!!!!!

STEPS TO FOLLOW BELOW
- Step 1 - changinging MID
- Step 2 - changing CID
- Step 3 - restoring relevant nand backup
- Step 4 - firmware flashing
- Step 5 - OTA downloading/updating
- Step 6 - hopefully all is good but read text below step 6 if not
Here Goes.......
1 Change the MID number of your device by going to THIS THREAD and follow instructions for setting the MID to the variant you wish to convert to (below is command for setting to Dev edition please read the link above and it will give you the relevant commands for your desired variant - Thanks @scotty1223
You should already have adb etc sorted but see the thread above if not
enter the following:
adb shell
su (if needed to get a # prompt)

(the above is one big long command. make sure you copy it all,and dont get extra spaces when you paste it. YOU COULD BRICK YOUR DEVICE IF THIS IS WRONG)

verify 0P6B12000 for modelid

2 then change CID to desired edition by typing "fastboot oem writecid BS_US001" in fastboot
(or BS_US002) - NOTE - these are dev edition CIDs , replace with relevant CID to your desired variant
(ignore if not converting to dev - obvious i know lol)
Here are the differences between the two dev edition CIDs
3 then restore relevant nand in custom recovery, you can get it HERE thanks @Mr Hofs - look for nand for BS_US001 or BS_US002 CID - Note - Look for nand matching the CID you entered earlier above - these are dev for example
4 Flash the stock recovery or firmware zip (which includes the recovery) matching your desired software number NOTE - yet again the download links below are for DEV edition for example - the versions relevant to the variant you want are accessible through the search function. The firmware is HERE this shouldn't wipe sd contents but backup to be sure thanks @ckpv5
Follow THIS GREAT GUIDE for flashing via fastboot thanks @Sneakyghost
Or This quality tutorial to flash firmware from external sd card thanks @skulldreamz
if you are s off, sd contents should be untouched after flashing firmware but back them up just in case
To flash just the recovery, get the recovery.img from the zip above and put it in your fastboot folder on your PC. Then in CMD type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" then "fastboot erase cache"
5 then you should be able to receive the OTA - flash as per HTC instructions, if you have any issues i.e corrupt file, flash ota manually- 1, reboot to recovery, then 2, press power and volume up and then flash in the menu that pops up
6 Profit
You will have the red text on the splash screen as the ota will flash a unmodified HBOOT - CLICK HERE for a modified one that will remove the red text. thanks @santod040 . Just remember to reflash stock hboot in the event of returning to s on before you type the s on command otherwise you will brick your device
IF, FOR ANY REASON U ARE NOT GETTING OTA, CLICK HERE AND APPLY IT MANUALLY

I have no idea if it will work for sure, but it certainly sounds good.
When you say you have the WWE version, you mean simply an unbranded non-US version of the device?
The dev edition seems to basically be just the [SIM] Unlocked version shipped with an unlocked bootloader as well.
If I'm wrong, maybe someone can correct that statement.
I don't know anything about the WWE devices but if they're SIM unlocked as well then it seems worth trying as long as you are S-OFF and have backups of current firmware.

Yes you can do it, but why not just wait? Chances are the WWE build will be a later build than this one so I'd (personally) just wait the week or so for the OTA and manually flash it

Looking for 1.90.403.1 RUU, Firmware and System Backup - HTC Europe

Hi guys, I need your help - i crashed my system and my twrp backup is corrupted.
I don't want to go for CleanSlate or any other custom ROM, so I was looking for the stock firmware or RUU or at least system backup for European version of M9+ htc_hiau_ml_tuhl with S-ON.
Unfortunately i was unsuccessful for my OS version 1.90.401.3 with CID_J15.
I found a lot of stuff for Taiwanese version, but not European.
If somebody has RUU and Firmware for 1.90.401.3 version or can do a backup of the system in system.emmc.win and recovery.img for 1.90.401.3 files. It will be highly appreciated as I'm going to install new OTA on it.

I found this link before and tried this OTA, but it updates from 1.86.401.7 to 1.90.401.3.... the recovery in that OTA does not work...

I managed to fix my issue, but still if you would be able to download this file and put it at mega.nz or send it to me, so i can share it with everyone.
As there is no topic with RUU and other useful threads for the European version of M9+, i will edit and collect everything useful to add it in to the header, so other users can use it as well.

Register on http://www.gsm-file.com and download this RUU, it is the working one and it goes with CID_32, i had the same system parameters - Clean Slate 1.2.3 Europe, S-ON, OS 1.90.41.3 and i successfully installed it:

This RUU fixed all my issues and i managed to uprade my HTC One M9+ to Android 6.0, OS 2.27.401.1

I got the Marshmallow update, but then stupidly flashed cleanslate 1.2.3 because my device went into bootloop. Now I don't have a recovery file nor do I have access to my network. I have the Taiwanese set. Any help that you could provide?

did you try running a RUU file of your software version or higher..maybe that will solve it as it has all the components in it.

This RUU fixed all my issues and i managed to uprade my HTC One M9+ to Android 6.0, OS 2.27.401.1

Is there any way to extract the recovery img from the stock zip ??
Or has anyone managed to get it out.
