Well, everyone who has bought the phone from India will be using the 1.32.720.5 ROM.
I'm looking for it too so I can root and try out other ROMs and if I ever need to claim warranty, I can quickly jump back to the original ROM it came with. I still can't seem to find it(1.32.720.5) though.
If anyone could upload this ROM to xdafiles, it would be great

Did anyone finally find this RUU 1.32.720.5

Please can some get this ROM

I´m hopping to flash the new radios on this phone, to see if I can get it to work with our local provider with 3g. Currently it only connects as Edge.
I own a Diamond Touch, with a lot of firmware and radio modifications, and it worked excelent on the same simcard with 3g on almost every place.
I´m willing to do a backup (dump) of my fresh room. Can you point me out to a tutorial on how to bulk the room so we can have the backup that you are talking about?

I am pretty new at this stuff.
Hoping some of the devs out here can help us out....
Please guys really need this ROM

Ok
I followed some tutorials on how to root and s-off and radio-off the phone. They seemed to work just fine.
Then i installed a market application called Rom Manager, and after flashing a custom bootloader, and backing up the old bootloader (so it seems), I did a Rom Backup.
It´s quite bigger than I expected it to be. I´m doing a RAR of it.
Not sure if the "DATA.img" file that get´s created has already the personal data that was on the phone at the time of the backup, so probably not such a good idea to post the "rom" until i get confirmation from somebody of what are the rom.img files that really matter.
Gonna subscribe to this tread to keep an eye on it to see if my backup rom can be of any help.
Any of you guys has encounter any trouble trying to access 3g network with it?

Please can you tell me what ur Stock CID

Where can I find the Stock CID?

System Info

Sorry. I have already flashed a custom firmware... All the info that I got before flashing was posted before. If there`s no CID info there, then I`m afraid now it`s too late.
anyway, I can`t find System info on the phone.
I found Settings / About / Software information. All the info there I posted at the start, as the info that I got when i entered bootloader.
Not sure if the CID would make the rom different or what.

How to backup ROM, I have the official firmware.

Can some please help to take and back up even i dont knw

To backup.
I unfortunatelly returned the phone to the seller last week... I bought the wrong 3g band. (Need 850-1900 for Colombia).
Anyway if I recall what I did for backing up the firmware:
1. Root the device (without backing up), using visionary R14. Look for download link on the forum, and instructions. Hopefully you won´t be needing to downgrade first, as it could be more complicated.
2. Install Rom Manager from the Market.
3. Run Rom Manager, it has an option to make a full backup. It will create the bootloader backup and also the firmware backup, both on the SD.
4. Copy the backup files on a safe place. Sometimes the SD can get messed up when flashing so it´s safer to have the backup on a secondary external place like a pc or a cd. (i think they where 4 files on the root of the SD, and one folder on the backup folder of Rom Manager, inside the SD).
That´s it for backing up.
Now for starting with flashing new firmwares you will also need (now safer to do) to S-off and Radio S-Off the device. The forum has really nice tutorials on how to easily achieve this other tasks.

Vodafone HTC Magic (NZ) - request for stock ROM?

Hi guys,
New here, and have come for a bit of help. I'm trying to track down a stock ROM for branded Vodafone New Zealand Magic as my original backup before I started tinkering with Hero ROMs etc got corrupted. Anyone know where I could find this or have a rom dump please?
Phone details
Vodafone Magic
HTC Magic (vodafone branded) black

(Crappy old SDcard became corrupted when I tried to backup the backup to PC! The backup is corrupted and will not load).
I've searched exhaustively, plenty of ROMs around but a stock one for New Zealand eludes me. I've pestered HTC but they have none suitable and say a update ROM is a long way off for NZ.
Is there a good list of ROMs somewhere that I'm missing or Does anyone have a stock dump they'd care to share?
(I'll probably keep playing with hero and other modded ROMs for now. on a tangent I find many will not boot on this particular phone, even with great care in wiping everything first. I have seen other users with this exact NZ phone type have trouble with many rooted roms not booting. would be nice to a have a stock rom back!)
any helpgreatly appreciated
I've not had any trouble with booting ROMs on my Voda NZ Magic. I don't have a stock ROM, but I might be able to make one as I'm running stock Cupcake on mine at the moment. I'll need to look into exactly how to do it though.
I'd suggest working through my guide, as it's essentially the exact procedure I used to install Hero on my Voda NZ Magic.
I have a Nandriod backup of a friends phone (Vodafone NZ)...
Can anyone confirm if it's safe to give out a Nandroid Backup? I assume it is... just want to be cautious..
it depends on when you or your friend create the Nandriod, it is contains any login info like google username and password. Also I am not sure Nandroid backup can be flashed to a different phone.
In theory, a nandroid backup of a phone that's had the data wiped is safe to distribute. Whether or not it'll restore to another phone, I'm not sure. I only have the one phone here to test with
hi thanks karrdenz,
I've already got a couple of hero roms working well on the phone using your method - one of the better guides around. A few htc magic rooted roms don't seem to boot, like the dalroid one.
Well I plan to blow away hero off my magic so i'm keen to be guinea pig if anyone has a nanroid of the NZ rom.

Hero 2.73.738.5 Root

Hey guys,
I got my Hero not to long ago and realized that it has no Marketplace. I worked out that this is because the device is from South East Asia and the marketplace is unavailable. I am running 2.73.728 (typo in the title)
How can I root my device and get the Marketplace? I've tried the Unlockr's method but when using Flashrec I get an error (Backup FAILED: Image is invalid.)
If someone could point me in the right direction, and perhaps explain how I could successfuly root my phone, it would be much appreciated.
I'm quite new to HTC and am unclear on how this all works.
Thanks guys.
You will need to downgrade to flash the recovery image
I have a South East Asian device as well, although mine is the Singaporean one which came with the Market app installed. The instructions here let me downgrade to 2.73.405.5, which let me root the phone.
I've since installed MoDaCo's custom ROM on there, but if you just want to run the stock software with root, those instructions are the way to go. (Of course, you can choose to flash any ROM after following them... it's entirely up to you.)
Thanks for that. Turned out that I just had to download the same ROM from the official site, install that, flashrec and follow the instructions.
I think the main problem was that it couldn't make a back up, and I wasn't going to root it without a backup.
Try to follow the instruction from below link

Hello everyone,
I'm new to Android as well, and just like Motleymoo I'm trying to root my Hero, but before that I want to backup my original before flashing. I read instructions on many forums out there and of course everything I could find here on XDA as well but so far no way. It seems this is due to later Build Number after 2.73.4... with further protections from HTC. Couldn't find anything to backup from this build before flashing so far. Any suggestions out there?
Btw, my device is SE Asia as well, bought in Hong Kong a week ago.

Help with Hero Rom Please

Hi,
My brother has a Hero which doesnt work very well, we had been trying to update to the latest firmware but were unable to do so, after we did a factory reset we realised that there was already a custom ROM on there, (the phone was purchased from ebay) below are the details :
Firmware Version: 1.5
Baseband Version: 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
Kernel Version: 2.6.27-mck-1.2
([email protected])
Build Number:
Modaco Custom Rom 2.8 core, ssh
Password: 9mzxij
The phone works terribly and is almost unusable due to the ROM version i believe.
Ive never rooted or put a custom ROM on an Android phone before. I dont know if it would be easier to Unroot the phone and put the standard ROM on there so I can update it to 2.1, or put on another custom ROM.
Your help and guidance is greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance.

First question is, what network are you on? Do you want to keep the phone software debranded (HTC Firmware) or Customised from the Providor, For Example Orange, T-Mobile, 3(Three) e.t.c ?
oops, thats a good point, the phone is on orange, and to be honest i think id prefer it unbranded.

OK, what you need to do is create a goldcard, install the unbranded WWE ROM and you will be presented with an update which you will need to get to push it up to the 2.1 ROM.

Please make sure all your data is backed up, phone numbers / memory card et al.
01. Goldcard Method

You should get a notification on the phone when you boot it up telling you there is an update... get it for the 2.1 rom. Should do the trick.

Debranding

Today I bought a Wildfire that has a branded OS by Telstra, I don't like a lot of the extras and startup screens and junk that is there. So I rooted the phone and flashed it with that popular Puzzlerom but I didn't really like it so I recovered back to my original from a backup. Is there anyway for me to flash it with the latest official ROM from HTC or get rid of the branding on my current Telstra ROM?
So I've done some searching, I found some references to getting the official HTC ROM from Shipped-ROMS. I couldn't find anything on the website, but when looking at the website index directories I found the Buzz folder but I don't know which HTC ROM to download. I want the latest one and I'm not really sure what the difference in versions numbers are as there are so many and all of them are pre-dated before the 2.2 release and I don't know if there is a difference in Radios and I don't want to upgrade to the latest version and have my phone not picking up reception and not being able to possibly revert it as I don't know if 2.2 is rootable.
I'm also unsure If I can simply run the official WWE .exe if my phone is rooted without some kind of corruption.
If somebody could give me a quick guide or point me to a thread which could help.
In a nut shell my situation is:
Telstra Branded Firmware Version: 2.1-update1.
Software number: 1.21.841.3
Kernal: 2.6.28-543e5f81
Rooted
Need to unbrand and get latest official HTC rom.
I too am interested in a fix for this?
cheers
Turns out I'm actually really stupid.
In the Development subforum people post the official ROM and safe .zip versions of it too -_-.
Debrand Telstra Wildfire
Am curious about doing this the Telstra firmware is quite annoying not to mention god knows when Android 2.2 will become available. I have tried all the RUU update i can find none work, get either error 130 or 140... main problem seems to be the model id of my phone is incorrect. I currently have 2.1-update1, baseband 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10, software number 1.30.841.1. Anyone got any ideas how to get rid of the Telstra firmware in favour of the standard HTC?

Or browse in here:

I bought a Telstra Wildfire before Xmas and used the follwoing procedure to debrand it to a stock HTC ROM.
The Wildfire came with ROM ver 1.21. I upgraded it to 1.37. See http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buzz/ for a list of the HTC roms. I used http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buz...3.55.24H_3.35.19.25_release_151892_signed.exe as it is the most recent one that can still be rooted. The next one is Froyo (http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buz...5.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_160191_signed.exe) however if you flash this one you will not be able to root it unless someone works out how to at some time in the future.
Firstly you will need to root the phone using Unrevoked (http://unrevoked.com/#wildfire).
Secondly create a goldcard (http://android.modaco.com/content/software/308798/pc-application-goldcardtool/)
The goldcard is necessary as, even though the phone has been rooted, the upgrade program will note that the CID in the phone is for Telstra and you are installing a non-Telstra ROM. You will get an error without the goldcard. The goldcard will override this detection and allow stock HTC and custom ROMS to be installed on your phone. Once you have installed the new stock HTC ROM using the goldcard, the goldcard will not be required for future stock ROM upgrades. It may not be required for upgrades to custom ROMS either but someone else may be able to verify this as I have not tried them.
Some people have had trouble getting the goldcard to work using thrid party SD cards. If you use the one that came with the phone you will not have trouble. The only problem with this is, as part of the unrevoked rooting, you will probably have done an nandroid backup which will dump backup files on the card so that you can restore your original ROM if you wish. I skipped this backup as shippedroms has the standard Tesltra 1.21 rom on their site (http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buz...45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_138758_signed.exe) so that you can restore the phone to standard if required.
Thirdly, install the stock ROM (http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buz...3.55.24H_3.35.19.25_release_151892_signed.exe) with the goldcard in the phone.
This will unroot your phone but you can re-root it again as you did in the first step above.
You can upgrade to Froyo but read the posts under the Wildfire Android Development section of these forums so that you understand the disadvantages of doing so. Many have been to quick to upgarde and have been caught out!
I am going to wait until unrevoked can root Froyo before I install it.
Has anyone tested that the phone can still communicate at 850mhz after running this process?
The phone I ran this on still works at 2100mhz, but lost 850mhz, which more renders a Telstra wildfire useless (Unless you're a city dweller with ample 2100 coverage)
Is it possible that the radio firmware flashed in with the european image (which is of course designed for the 900/2100 radio) does not work properly with the hardwre in this phone? I've done a lot of searching on this subject and have come up completely empty!
Hey guys,
I bought Eclair Wildfire Telstra-branded only weeks ago, straight away rooted it and installed Sunaabh ROM (a stable, stock-like Froyo ROM). Apart from Telstra splash screen (unable to remove because we have S-On) it is debranded of course. I dunno what you mean about the radio stuff, but I live in faaaaarrrr west Sydney (Wallacia) which is pretty much country and I get 3G. Is that full NextG speed...? I really don't know!
Do NOT install official 2.2 update! It will remove root and install the new, currently unrootable HBOOT!
EDIT: What is this goldcard nonsense? Do your research! Unrevoked3 installs the Clockworkmod recovery and you can then flash ANYTHING.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using Tapatalk
I think by now I can say there's 2 ways of debranding a Wildfire A3335:
What I did (don't do this anyone else!):
* Run a stock RUU. Fully fully debrands it (No telstra logos anywhere). Also replaces the radio firmware with an eurpoean version and destroys your phone's rural (850mhz) coverage
What you did (and what I should have done):
* Just replace the ROM. Leave the Radio firmware in place: End result: You still have a phone that works on 850mhz but you've also got an annoying telstra boot screen, and there's not a damn thing that can be done about it until S-OFF is figured out for Wildfire.

The Goldcard is for people who choose to run the HTC RUU upgrade process, as described by lemming999. As you just reflashed your ROM, it is expected that you would not require a Goldcard.
As per my post above. *** Do not run this unless you really don't care about your rural coverage ***
Ok - I've posted a solution for getting 850MHz 3G back again for anyone silly enough to do what I did. Read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11559059#post11559059

Is it possible that you have S-OFF as a result of flashing an RUU? I assume no, because there are no RUU packages which have an "Engineering" SPL included... right?
What about SIMLOCK? True debranding should remove the CID if you can share whether you can use non Telstra SIM cards now, I may pursue the Goldcard/RUU process myself!
I don't have S-OFF at the end of this. But the HTC RUU does have the ability by some means of magic to COMPLETELY debrand the phone (including the first boot screen) and ruin your radio in the process.
So now that I've managed to restore the Telstra radio, I have have a 100% unbranded, fully working A3335 while most people tend to be stuck with the telstra logo at the SPL.
If S-OFF was obtainable on wildfire I think this process would be a lot easier but I got the desired result in the end. Reflashing the radio is pretty dodgy. I've avoid it as if it goes wrong. Your phone is a doorstop.

Yes non telstra SIM cards work. Although, I bought the phone unlocked so I don't know how this came about. as for the CID, it may remain, it may not. I don't know how to tell. There's a fairly good chance it was nuked when I flashed with the Euro RUU.
Fair enough, thanks for the detail. I'm not fussed on SIMLOCK (no vodafone coverage out here anyway), was just curious.
In regards to s-off, it is determined by SPL which AFAIK every RUU has. But again, every PUBLIC RUU would have nandlock. But there are some Wildfire users here who do have s-off, and say they don't remember how they did it (they never noticed until down the track). Odd.

Installing a new stock rom

Hello every one,
(I did searched through the forms before posting this topic but did not found what I am looking for)
Like most of the Wildfire owners I was eagerly awaiting the release of AlpharevX beta, so I could I finally turn the S-OFF and take control of my device. BUT it seems that the beta version of RevX does not cater to hboot version 1.01.0002 variant. Bummer
After visiting the IRC channel of #alpharevx, I had an impression that there are several variants of the 1.01.0002 hboot, plus the one installed on my device could belong to Asia region. Inside the chat room IEF stated that there is no chance for Asia region support as well. So the only choice I am left with is to get S-OFF via XTC clip, unfortunately so far my search to find one in my city seems fruitless. It is quite expensive and I am just not ready to buy one. The only option left to me is to rid of my wildfire
But I was wondering if there is a way I can replace the stock rom on my device with that from Europe region. As per my understanding one needs to have a gold card to flash the device. I was able to create a goldcard via unlocker website, but now what. I am not sure which rom to choose or how to proceed any further. I did searched the XDA forums but few guides suggested you need a rooted device while other stated some thing different. I need your expert advise if there is a possibility for me to replace the stock rom on my device, thus enabling me to use AlpharevX.
The details of my device are listed below:
Android Version: 2.2.1
Baseband Version: 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10
kernel version: g44d8ec5
[email protected]#1
Wed Dec 8 CST 2010
Build number: 2.37.466.1 CL319429 release-keys
Software number: 2.37.466.1
Also I am attaching the screen shot of the issue I am facing with AlpharevX, there are quite a lot of people with the same issue.
One thing more my device is not locked to any particular carrier or carries its logo, but it does seem to have a middle eastern language support i.e. Arabic and Farsi in it.
Last but not least I would like to thank AlpharevX team, although it did not work for me but they did a great job. Thank you.
I would also like to thank 3xeno for all the help so far.
