According to the Singapore-based HardwareZone, after recently swapping out an HTC One review unit, it was noted that the camera firmware had been updated from the previous handset they had been testing, and luckily, had already taken sample pictures with. HardwareZone was able to compare images taken with the first One running the older firmware, with their newer model, and the results speak for themselves.
HTC says that the final versions of the units that will be released to consumers will contain the updated firmware.

couldn't find any links on the thread, so had to make a new one
btw, this new firmware is coming with the retail products being shipped now itself
LoL firmware did so much better photos really LoL...now its obvious why they are short of camera modules...they have to manufacture more modules with good lens to exchange the faulty ones...thats why One is late and firmware update is only the guise bravo HTC good move...still cant wait for my One
Is it just me or the "Better" phone has a closer distance to the target than the "Bad" one?
Cause obviously... The closer the target is the more detail the picture gets.

I was thinking exactly the same.. Every test should be identical.
Although it doesn't explain that much difference in quality I think.
In case you guys missed this in the other thread.

Updated 26/3/13: HTC has clarified that the second unit which we received "has the final commercial firmware, compared to the original unit which was pre-production and had an isolated hardware issue, which resulted in differences between the two sets of photos taken with both devices." According to our understanding, all the commercial sets which will launch in April will come already updated with this firmware. As such, there will be no second camera update for the One, unlike what we previously wrote below.

Low (to none) Light Performance
Just wondering if its only a few that have this...quirk:
When there's nearly zero light, does the photo show as black or lots of noise?

I remember from a while back that there was 2 versions of the wizard. One was the one that we are seeing now as the qtek9100 and the kjam and there was one that looked like the apache(cdma version) but it did not have the aerial stub so it could not of been the apache. Does anyone know if there will be a different looking wizard being made that looks similar to the apache? I am quite sure I like the apache design a bit better but I am looking for a GSM device.
Do you mean this ???
I know what you mean , I remember seeing the thread somewhere when info was very scetchy. The pictures we saw if I have you right where the K-Jam or Wizzard and the Apache although minus the arial. The first shots I saw of these were like this . Saying that though Mobilefun.co.uk swear their K-Jam unit will be CDMA even after speaking to them and sending them the Imate spec sheet .. If so then it's the closest guarded secret this century.
The Apache has just been released on Sprint in the states .. You lucky things  I think though the Apache is now a bigger device than was speculated .. Could be wrong though

yeah that is the one. i am really looking forward to the wizard since it seems to have everything i am after with the exception of built in GPS which i will sadly have to live without.
it seems like the units that are coming out are all in the qtek 9100 style which i am not too crazy about. i plan on buying a wizard the second it comes out but i would like to buy the latter version if possible. trouble is that i am not sure if i will be able to contain myself from buying the qtek 9100 once it comes out. especially since we have not seen any of the companies use the latter version as of yet. who knows when it is going to come out or even if it ever will.
I always thought the alternative styles were prototypes. I do remember seeing different versions in the FCC database but the only difference was that one had a camera, the other didnt (to make the phone acceptable in areas where cameras are forbidden).
It is Dopod 838

"I was a bit skeptical when a user from 4chan claimed to be an “android trusted tester” and posted screenshots of a MyTouch 3G supposedly running Android 2.2 Froyo – afterall we know how easily those “About” screens are faked. But after some trolling (”No one cares, take this $#!* to XDA”) and small talk (”is it nice”, “hurr”) the OP follows up with a picture that has me (at least partially) believing. Well, not ONLY believing… also yearning for the arrival of 2.2..."
Quoting Neowin: Link
"As we now know, Google's next iteration of the Android operating system is rumored for release at Google I/O next month. To make matters even more interesting, Phandroid has posted some pictures showing a HTC Magic running Froyo. The images are not confirmed to be real, but assuming they are, Android 2.2 will add a new level of convenience to the Android Market.
One of the pictures shows a feature to "Allow automatic updating" within the Market. The example shown is with Google Maps. Assuming this picture is legit, Google is really taking their app store seriously and listening to the suggestions of its users. Whether this new feature will only work for specified applications (such as Google branded ones) remains to be seen. Such a feature has the potential to cause problems for users if the wrong apps are allowed to automatically update themselves. Developers could be able to force ads into their apps, as well as push malicious code."

This mean that we will be able to run Froyo on our devices??? Would this be fake or real???
who knows if its real, but i doubt we will get 2.2 before any of the big boy phones like nexus, milestone, x10 ect ect...
we'll be getting 2.1 (well 32A anyways) sometime this summer..
i wouldnt hold your breath for 2.2 ...
I found this at www.sammobile.com!

Oh my god, its BEAUTIFUL! Just look at that design .. ! Imagine that beauty with the next exynos processor, a HD resolution, 1.5 Gig of ram and who know what else..
What do you think?
Sammobile's thread says this:
"The picture above could be true for several reasons: Weber Shandwick is one (or even the) largest PR agency in the world, including here in Germany, Weber Shandwick operates in several sectors, along with Samsung. (This is also very good, I made the best possible experience with those so far). The picture could also originate from an internal document at Weber Shandwick, which to hold a Unpacked event on intended to holdon May 22nd!
So what can we see if we take a clo.es look at this picture. To start with the bezel it is really really small!
We see a shutter-button for the camera FINALLY.
Besides, the design fits the Galaxy S3. Loudspeaker front, above and below the display- a perfect match to the current design line from Samsung. Look at the Galaxy S WiFi4.2 or 1.10 of the Galaxy note, both are the display next to the speakers!
If true, the picture above, it also directly teaser unpacked a Samsung event for 22 May in London - in my opinion, very likely. On 22 May announce where a few weeks later, the Olympic Games will begin to quickly put on the market on time and to have the Olympic Games 2012 Samsung Galaxy S3 in the shops. In my view, could vote at Reddit surfaced image that is so loose - I hope even on it. Then you would have a date and place, I can plunder my account for the plane and the speculation goes in another direction!
May 22nd is the approximate date that the London Olympic Torch Relay starts – of which Samsung are a major sponsor – so this date and event in London make total sense.

Eldar Murtazin (Russian tech blogger) SGS3 is different but thats one is closest to final design

I never said it was new. I said it was a good comparison that I personally haven't seen before, so I'm assuming other people in the HTC forum haven't either.
Amazing! Pure genius!! Too good to be true!!!

You know what's great about the Internet? People can find something somewhere that proves just about any point they want to make. Whether it's valid or not.
The s/w at the launch event where the pics OP posted were taken was two revisions ago. GSMArena tested with what was shipped out on the review devices when they did their One vs. SGS4 comparison which was the second revision. They posted this along with pics taken with the newest (and shipping) s/w.
Update, April 12: We got our hands on a retail unit of the Galaxy S4. Here are some samples shot with the market-ready Galaxy S4
Here's the link for those that are objective...
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s4-review-914p9.php
Others can just praise and thank OP for his “The One rules them all!!!” post.
This is a bit like arguing which is better a macro lens or a wide angle lens. It's clear the One wins in low light portrait situations and the S4 in daylight landscape like situations. Which is better, depends on the situation. Personally I like cycling and have taken some nice landscapes with my phone because it's easy to carry and you need a phone anyway, so I will miss those pictures but on the other hand I have taken many night shots with my phone too and they are mostly crap but I usually have a camera around then too....
Anyway which one is better depends on your personal use

Hi!
I know that Official KK is gonna be available soon for our phone, so I was thinking about small comparison of all camera modes, before and after KK.
I have latest official available soft(Non Network carrier phone/Spain): 4.3 10.4.1.B.0.101 no root or any modifications.
Images are taken in full res without stabilization(Normal Mode of course).
Time: 18:00.
Sun is a bit behind left side of building, but still visible in the sky(that had few clouds) so we have nice neutral ambient light.
For now images from 15m distance, I'm gonna upload also images from 2-3m but that later.
I cropped images in place when we can see hard for camera scene full of high contrast black-white(bike) but also red colored trunk of the car, and a bit of green on top(small but still). Bike have loots of details so its easy to compare how every camera mode modify scene.
PS I had Polish language set in my phone so I don't know if English names of each scene modes are good :]
PPS I know that some of you think that its not needed, but looking at this images you can also see how every mode modify image so its good to remember if you looking for quick setting up camera
Because of big file I cant upload it to forum so here is external link to image(if you have problems viewing it click HERE):

In this week I try making this 2-3m images comparison in good lighting so we gonna have all camera modes in most common scenes :]
Hmm not sure if that was a good idea.
You should have done the images now.
To compare it it would need to be on the same day, with the same light with KitKat and Jellybean.
You most likely not gonna have the exact same lightning when KitKat gets officially released
But a nice idea anyways. :good:
Man, you did a really great job. You're my hero

Dont worry about that is almost summer now in Spain. Every day is the same: Hot like hell, sun in the same spot, few clouds in the sky. :]
