Changing icons in Paranoid Android

Hi All, recently installed paranoid android, anyone got any idea how i create shortcuts with my own icons? the default launcher doesnt seem to have anywhere i can change it. and i dont wanna install another launcher ideally.
couldn't one simply long press a app's icon on the home screen and then tap EDIT? then you can search for the icon you want to replace it with. I believe that's how I did it.

You would need a custom launcher like Nova Launcher to edit your icons

You installed a completely new, and alpha, ROM. Why do you hesitate to install a new launcher?
The latest Nova launcher will even import your icon and screen layouts from the stock launcher.
Sure would like to do this with out adding a launcher as well. Not sure Nova or any other launcher can duplicate all the different looks to your homepage that Paranoid Android is mostly flashed for.
Edit: flashing a launcher will do the trick disregard the above BS.

WIUI Customization (Tips for new MIUI users?)

Hello! I have just flashed WIUI GB stable and as i'm new to MIUI i have a few questions about how stuff is done :cyclops:
First, I can't get the calendar widgets to work. The calendar app works, reads my google calendar, but if I try to place a calendar widget it doesn't find any event to show. Anyone else with this problem?
Second For some reason the launcher force closes since something I did (I was installing apps and it just started Force Closing) so I just installed MiHome to keep with the Miui feel.
I really like the way MiHome folder looks, but I think it is also slower than Launcher Pro for example, is there a way to get this same folder feeling on other launchers?
Third customization of stuff like battery bar (which is cool, but I would prefer something that changes colour depending of percentage for example) I've found extended controls but i am afraid that is for normal miui? not for wiui?
Edit: Also way to change LED notification colour by app ?
And finally, any tips for new miui users? cool theme webpages? thanks

I to installed this ROM yesterday and it's been working great until I installed Gmail from the market. I wanted 2 seperate icons for email, 1 for work and the other for my gmail. It started "Force Closing" immediately after install. I tried the LauncherPro and don't like the way it looked, I love the regular MIUI look! Only difference between JostVice and I is I'm running the v4 JB 2.9.27 Froyo. I'm a noob when it come's to all this if it helps saying! Am I missing somethig I should be doing or should not have done?

Don't use the v4 for now , give it a couple of months to stabilize . Fc s are common . Go the wiui page and get the latest Gb stable version , you won't be able to tell the difference
Yes the new GB rom has the Control Panel that includes options about the top bar!
But still I get the launcher force-close and i think it may be related to installing new apps and their icon appearing. very weird.
I also would like some option to tweak led notification color by app like in CM7

[Q] How to remove notification bar at the top?

Heyo
Wondering how i would go about removing the notification bar that shows battery etc.
I am using ADW launcher ex, but can't for the life of me seem to find the option for it anymore. I swear it used to be there when i used it for my galaxy s2.
If adw doesn't have it anymore do you have any recommendations for another launcher app that would do the trick.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Missing microphone icon in "Google Search" widget

Hi
I´ve recently installed Paranoid Android and it's great! Only one issue: microphone icon in Google Search widget isn't there... although it´s not very important, is there any solution for this?
Thanks!
Mike.
Doesn't look like you are using google now launcher. Looks like aosp launcher to me.
#stayparanoid
Yes, I'm using aosp launcher... but it should show microphone icon anyway.

Oh, I thought it was a bug. It really is a bit unusual to see the search bar without the Google logo and microphone icon, but if the launcher is like this, ok! No problem!
Aosp has no Google components at all. The Google logo and the search icon ate part of the Google now launcher

Lollipop app draw icon

For anyone wanting to make the stock ASUS Launcher look a bit more like stock Lollipop, I found an icon pack called LolliPop Colored on the Play Store. Applied via the icon packs setting in the launcher, it doesn't do anything other than change the wallpaper and app drawer icon. I then use the standard Nexus blue wallpaper.
You can get the same result by using the Google Now launcher. Plus it's an official app. You'll also get the "Okay google" function from any screen using this launcher instead.

Sure you can use google now, or nova or apex. That's not the point. For various reasons some people, myself included, want to use the stock Asus launcher. This is just a way to have it slightly nearer in appearance to stock lollipop's material design. Oh, and "OK Google" from any screen is available in the stock launcher too - it's an option in Google settings.

Sorry, I don't know how to share links for google play store apps (there's no sharing option like there is on apple app store). But if you search "LolliPop Colored theme" it will be top of the search results (it's by Alper Selzer)
I installed xposed framework yesterday. Using gravitybox module to activate softkeys (and expanded desktop so that can hide them again easily). Then used Xstana module to change the ASUS softkeys and status bar icons to Lollipop style. With WM Density changed to 270 (on my 550) I now have the stock ASUS Launcher just how I want it
Im still not root but i envy those navigation bars
guess have to get one too hehe
iphone
Now we can easily get iphone looks without any file, in latest ASUS launcher.

Because you have ASUS Apps on your ZenFone 2, not Google Apps.
Nova launcher with glim icon pack
I have all Google app installed I think.
What do you mean by Google App ?
Asus say me to see whith Google but Google says me to see whith ASUS.
Thnaks for your help.
What apps' icons are you talking about? If you mean things like settings, dialer and downloads, then you have ASUS versions instead of Google/AOSP, so the icons are different. Using Google Now launcher won't change those icons.
