Tv adverts - One (M7) General

Seeing loads on sky in the UK,for boomsound with all the band's playing faceing away from you ,but not seen any so far for blink feed or zoe
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

Although Blinkfeed and Zoe are very nice and interesting, I feel they are smart to focus on the speakers, it's a much bigger deal having 2 front facing stereo speakers than most people can figure out on their own, having been stuck with phones with junk speakers since forever. It's one of the most important reasons why I want the One. Zoe and Blinkfeed are farther down the list for me.

I still don't think they are doing enough for marketing. I haven't seen an advert yet or a billboard poster.

to me zoe, blinkfeed, speakers and camera in low light IE clubs parties etc is what they need to focus on .These 4 things are what most young folk look for,me being 44 look for other things but blink feed and boomsound appeal to me

If you watch UEFA matches, you can see "HTC One" plastered all over the billboards. Been like that for the last couple months. Those particular ads are reaching hundreds of millions of homes around the world.

They are now on council TV in UK as well (Boomsound ads), seen them quite often over this weekend.
They def need to step it up though and get some cam/Zoe ads up.

I really should move to England...
I feel like I'm missing out.

There is no competition imo.

really?
thats really weird... I am ready to dump my phone for an atrix
the atrix wins with ease hands down!
Well the video was lame but I would agree that the atrix is a masterpiece...

There are plenty of games you can get for this phone that are fun, for me personally the movies I watch on here look great now I admit iphone screen dies display better but then again so does samsungs super amoled. And I have no issues selecting links maybe your finger needs the calibration... lol kidding kidding. I zoom in just enough so I can read all text without having to scroll side to side and I tap links just fine; never miss.

I still own both phones and I prefer my Atrix hands-down, especially after solving the battery drain issues now my Atrix rocks! Atrix as a PHONE-PHONE is great and calls are great, speaker nice and loud and reception rock-solid. My iphone keep dropping calls and losing signal.
The retina display on the i4 is nicer and surfing is a smoothing experience i'll give it that. I find the app stores comparable to one another. iTunes is a dealbreaker for me .. retarded POS and makes life hell when just trying to sync up, update your phone, etc.
Plus, it's way more fun owning an Android phone and flashing goodies
With the iphone we are always at the mercy of Apple waiting for IOS updates and then waiting forever for the JB-community to release untethered JB's ... a real cat n mouse game.
Honestly I giggle like a little school girl on Christmas when ever an "iOS vs Android" comes up. they're two different OS's and run perfectly to how they were designed. Personally I'm an android guy because its not as locked up as the (Cr)apple iOS. And as far as gaming goes they have completely different GPU's. iPhone was using open-GL while android was set up through Java. So as far as I'm concerned this is a moot debate. While we're at it lets compare a water to fire, or night to day.

For all the HTC fanboys who've spent the last few weeks bashing the Zs display.

Just have a look at this. It wasn't even a contest.

lol are you joking? what do you see really
you can't judge the screen in a youtube video, plus all are commenting that they look similar
It's the poor view angles on the Z that we've been bashing
meawhile you are too busy being impressed by the exagerrated contrast and colors on the Xperia (like they do in showroom tv displays) and don't care that it looks cheap when washed out from sides
from the makers of bravia televisions this inexcusable anymore
you and your thread are reported for breaking the rules
All I see are slight more vibrant colours on the experia... Nothing else

Maybe it's just me, but I prefer the Ones' colour rendition in that video. The rest of the handset is imho so much nicer than the Z, that it makes no real difference anyway.
How many people will be watching two videos side-by-side, day-in day-out.... and thinking "sh1t, I wish I'd bought the other handset which I dislike for every other reason than the display"
Your eye's and brain quickly adapt to the display anyway..... that's why we all have different TV's
Well, form this youTube video,
XZ's colours are stronger because there's a high chance that Bravia Engine is turned on.
Secondly, the video is taken head-on. So yes, I do like what I see in the youTube.
Now in real-life, when the Bravia Engine is turned off (for all tasks except pics and vids) the contrast on the device is poor (can be solved by software I believe).. and at an angle, the screen instantly starts to be cloudy.
Sure, people will say that "who will look at the screen at an angle".
Yes, I said the same thing.. until I actually owned the phone for 10 days. I leave the phone at my desk and while sitting back, I can hardly make out my home screen.
Don't take it as Sony vs HTC. It all depends on usage.
ps: I sold my XZ. Waiting for something nice to drop by now..

Easily the best phone ive owned and I've had shedloads. Only issue is now I've had stereo speakers and decent low light camera I'm gonna be so picky with future upgrades.
Roll on HTC releasing a patch to remove the three dot menu and itll be perfect

^^^ this here is hoping the next HTC phone has stereo speakers aswell and the trend continues, as for camera I wonder what HTC are going to do next year.
I have 2 niggles
The power button is basically flush with the handset so sometimes can be a bit awkward to press
You can't map the back key as a menu key when you long press so you get that annoying black bar at the bottom
Other than that, perfect
brilliant phone
totally lag free which amazes me, specially when using blinkfeed.
I can see blinkfeed getting a bit boring after a while tbh.
Speakers are outstanding, havent had chance use camera too much, but what i have done amazes me
how quick it takes photos, literally can just keep pressing away and its instant!

OMG this phone....OMG
is surreal
the speakers are so good when my phone ringed in the bus this morning everyone just stopped whatever they were doing and turned towards me...and by god, the volume was less than half...
the display has such beautiful deep black and white it doesnt look like a screen but like a glossy magazine...
The menu 3dots button needs to disappear in a bug release patch hopefully as in some app (FB etc) takes over the screen and i dont like that
Battery well superior to HTC one x
Lagg - free
And the built....oh it feels like it was designed to be hold in hand...i dont even feel like keeping it in the pocket anymore
and by the way, i dont know ab SG4 for but this phone, will turn heads everywhere, people will be hypnotised by it
i had 4 strangers asking me: dude what phone is this, ive never seen anything like this before...also my friends are all now considering buying it
i know i sound like i was paid by HTC, but i wasnt, i hate HTC as a company but my god...this phone...this phone is not from this time, it is from the future:good:
Battery life does seem poor, although I won't really be able to judge until I do my commute on Monday, thats when I can judge it a bit better
Sound quality is amazing, both on speakers and headphones so ****ing loud i love it
Screen is nice.
Power button is recessed so quite difficult
TV remote is a great handy little addition
Camera seems okay, although i have issues, have tried doing sequence shot or always smiling keep getting errors, will try again tomorrow though , shutter speed is very good
Sense, it's lovely and clean but i just wish i could get rid of blink feed and make the grid 5x5
Call quality seems great, service and wifi signal are both excellent and no fluctuations whatsoever so really happy with that.
The messenger, people, music and camera apps all look lovely, htc have really stripped them down and taken on board googles design ethos

I have had people staring at me on the bus , thinking what the hell is that phone and some have asked. I have told them its only the best phone in the world right now it is called the HTC One. Some of my friends that were thinking about the s4 or xperia z due to memory options have forgetton about both after seeing or just hearing about my phone.

Looking to swap Xperia Z for HTC ONE

I have had my Sony Xperia z for over a week now. I have been so impressed with the phone, it's speed, interface etc. The sound could be better but overall it's hard to complain. Defiantly the best phone I've owned.
Vodafone have kindly aloud me to trade my Xperia for the new HTC ONE at no cost or anything, straight swap. I know of HTC's recent poor history. My friends and family have had old HTC's (2/3 year old models) and they have been extremely poor in terms of reliability.
Just looking some opinions on the phones. I have read and watched many reviews on both phones and the HTC almost always comes out on top on each categorie (design, speed etc)
Considering it's a straight swap is it worth it and why. I'm a heavy phone user and I understand that phones with specs as close as these two are to each other that the differences is down to opinion. But would like some more expect (better knowledge or HTC ONE user help)
Thanks in advance

The phones are near enough identical really, both premium high quality designs, really comes down to whether you want water proofing or ultrapixel. Lots of my friends have had HTCs and really hated the reliability and software support whereas Sony is markedly mote developer friendly.

Its simple...Aluminium vs glass, Ultrapixels vs megapixels, 4.7 vs 5. These are the main differentiating factors that really matter..real world performances have reached a saturaioon point now and even S3 feels smooth. Your Choice!
I think I will choice htc one in many aspect.Good viewing angle screen, good speaker ,greater performance and other else(sorry for my bad English).

It really isn't, the Ultrapixel camera still has a megapixel count.
1 Megapixel is 1 Million pixels.
1 Ultrapixel is 1 Pixel.
an Ultrapixel is just a much larger pixel, the HTC One is about 4Megapixels, those 4Million pixels have a much larger size than the 13.1 million pixels the XZ has.
The total pixel surface area for HTC Ones camera is approx. 16mm^2 where the Exmor RS at 13.1Megapixel is approx 16.4mm^2
Specs and Reviews are better in case of HTC one. Its hard to say about the reliability though as its been released in very few markets.
The viewing angles issue is forever popping up. But seriously anyone that views there phone side on is in need of help.

In my mind there is no doubt. I simply love the XZ.
It has totally blown me away with it's speed and the screen, in my opinion, is awesome.
And im amazed about how long the battery actually lasts.
The HTC One is a nice phone, no doubt, its quite a beautiful phone, but so is the XZ. Design wise its a question of do you prefer glass or aluminium.
HTC is really proud about their speakers, but in reality, i would never use them, i always use a headset.
And their camera, i've seen pictures from it, and im not at all impressed.
So im sticking with my XZ.
Even S2 is still good for normal use. In the end it boils down to user experience. But for me, either phones are good. I am actually deciding on XZ and One as well. I saw the XZ in person already and I will see the One in person first before deciding. Some user reviews are exaggerated and biased so it's better to see it in person. S4 is almost the same as S3 so I want to try a different brand after my S2
I did a swot analysis and eventually bought the Xperia Z. You may refer to theOP here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38627785
And then reach your own analysis and conclusion. I had choices between the SXZ, HTC 1 and the HTC Butterfly. Hope this can help you (remain on the SXZ).
Dead cookies leave no trails...
Have to say the Xperia has changed my mind about Sony. I would probably pick the Sony over the HTC Instagram phone to be fair.
Low light performance of my Z seems to match what i;ve been seeing from HTC samples and the small shots in the daytime wouldnt cut it for me.
I am constantly zooming in on photos to check out people's facial expressions in photo's as there's always something hilarious in shots of night's out.
Aside from that, the water proof aspect of the Z is what's truly sold me. Couldn't have another phone i'm constantly worrying about dropping in puddles or wrecking in the shower.
The ear piece volume on mine is really clear now, for some reason it got better over time and is really loud and clear now. The speaker is loud enough as well. Although i've bought a portable speaker and use that for music and speaker phone it's awesome.

If The Verge says it's a good camera, then it really must be. They like don't like anything that isn't the iPhone camera.
Technically, the first "Hands On" video about the N6 was the Carphone Warehouse video comparing the N6 to the GSN4 (Though it was not a very good one): www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Fn8OnzDO5Y
I have not seen this yet, as I plan on Chromecasting the video. That said considering its "The Verge" I am skeptical they will treat it fairly compared to their universally known apple product fandom.

Having them facing you is pointless if the sound is extremely tinny. Hence my concern.
There is very little space for those speakers under that small bezel. They look very similar to my Moto G, which is quite worrisome for a premium device. The top speaker is nearly always more audible than the bottom one too. This was the case in the Moto G, and is also the case with the Xperia Z2 and Z3 as well.
Then again, with the wider chassis, it will hopefully have a bit more oomph.
"Feels way better in the hand than I expected"
This is the one thing I was delighted to hear from the video. Hopefully we'll hear more comments like this before it gets released.
That looks amazing, day 1 pre order for sure!
