Poor GPS signal since last OTA update?

anyone else experiencing this? before the update my phone and GPS were great since the update the GPS (using navigation) hardly ever locks and then when it does it then loses lock and doesn't regain it again
help???

What is your softare version number, 1.72 or 1.84? I had the same issue with 1.72, and that along with other bugs got me to go for a custom rom.
After flashing Android revolution 4.0 along with a new radio I get a fix at my GPS almost immediately.
I think you will find some apps on marked named GPS fix, you could try and see if it would be of any help, don't think it's a offical fix for it yet.

I have had the same problems and worked a lot with the phone but no soulution so far, new rom and new radio....

[Q] 3G Fix with Cyanogenmod 7.1

I have been trying to get the 3G patch done with CM7, but when I do the Custom Recovery, install Zip, and I select the 850/1900 3G fix zip, I get a "Amend scripting is long longer supported......switch to Edify scripting... to get a working update package."
I see some people copy/paste files in certain directories manually...Can someone give me the rundown on this, It's very frustrating not having the Defy on 3G. And yes, I have tried all the basebands in the utility.

So you're having 3g problem with cm7? Could I ask you which build you have installed (name of the zip file's ok)?
I haven't heard anyone using a 3g fix on cm7 for months and I mean almost never and maybe not since before the RC releases anyways. The proof is also that your patch doesn't work because is coded in amend and that means before cm7 and ClockWorkMod recovery v3.0..
But if it is still what you want to do, could you also post it here (attach it or give me a link for it) and I will have a look for you. Then I can either tell you where and how to replace files or even create a new patch that will work on newer CWM recovery.

Hey Al, Thanks a bundle, Like Ive said in another post, I've been dealing with mobile phone for a long time, and now when the tables have turned cause I feel like a n00b. LOL
I have the latest Cyanogenmod: CM7.1.0-jordan-signed. It's in my unlocked Defy which has the bands UMTS 900/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900 HSDPA. I need the 850/1900. I chose in the selector all the basebands that use this combo but nada. I even got help from my local carrier for firmware information, but even so I cant find that firmware anywhere. So i wanna try all my options before I call Motorola or flash my phone to stock and send it to get replaced, complaining that I cant use my network. My phone was purchased last Thursday.
So that's that. My phone also is a Euro Variant.

In another Android Forum, they ran it on Cyanogenmod 7.1 using custom recovery and fix the solution. But it won't run from mine.

UPDATE: Another member from GrupoAndroid, re-built this for CM7, i ran it and didnt solve my issue.

I had a look and yes that patch is just the radio files and probably old ones because the patch was coded in Amend.
So I've made a new one in Edify that should work; I mean now install properly on your version on CWM recovery as I have no clue if this will really solve your 3G problems.
Before you install it though, either make a nandroid backup of your current build (recovery->backup/restore->backup (all)) OR simply make a copy of the whole bp_nvm_default folder located in /system/etc/motorola as a safety net.
Lastly, I would also suggest you to give a shot and the other patch (baseban139.zip) that I found here which apparently contains the same but most recent Defy radio files.
So flash either or and see how it goes...

Oki doke.....installing 3G fix attempt. (i did backup)
.....FAIL. No Service. Selected network unavailable.
No Voice nor Data.
Should I flash the baseband file you made over this or should I restore first?
I went ahead and did the baseband zip install,
Voice: Available
Data: EDGE
Any other suggestions? No 3G....

I'm on telus having issue finding a radio that works well and 3g does not work just wondering if you could give me a hand I flash cm7.1 on the defy after rooting, all I get is a H on my data connection

just updated my phone to ICS with this rom HTC HD2 Evohd2 and now i dont get any signal, im from mexico city i try flashing other radios and nothing work can some one help fix this? or what radio do i need for my location.

Have you checked that the APN settings are correct? Go to settings>more (under wireless and network)>mobile network>APNs and either make sure the correct ones for your network have been set or create a new one with the correct settings. If you need to create a new one, you can get all of the info you need either from the internet or by calling your carrier and asking for them. I've found that the SIM Toolkit built in to CM doesn't work for me, but you can try it anyway.

Have you gone into settings>wireless>mobile networks and searched for networks. What happens when you do that? I had a similar problem with a JB rom. The rom just would not see the network. Nothing. Said error searching for networks. I flashed other ROms and they all worked ok. It was something specific with that ROM and my phone what was not happy. A different ROM sorted it out. I am too new to know where the signal loss is.

Hi everyone, i have pdaimatejam 7.10.8858.136 on my HD2 and i love it, i've had it installed a while now and always used wifi connection, yesterday my internet was down for a few hours so i decided to use data connection on my phone, it didn't work, i have done my research and this is known issue and requires 3G fix cab to repair problem. I have cab sender installed on my PC the problem is i cannot find a working link on the net or xda to get the 3G fix cab from, does anyone still have this file and will you share it with me or do you have a working link for it. Thanks for your time.

Hi many thanks for your reply, I am considering updating the rom if all else fails, but, had hoped if any one still has the cab it would save me from having to go through all the microsoft sign up and setting up hassle. I don't actually use data connection very often as i am mostly housebound so just use the wifi. In your opinion is the 8862 rom the best one around at the moment.

Problem with nvm

Hello everyone,
lately I had problem with connecting to 3G/4G and it was because of damaged NVM. I did fixed that using instruction from here, but sadly now I got problem with getting and making calls, also with 2h late sms. I think it may be because of old NVM or something and there comes my question.
Can someone provide me backup of his working NVM from XEO version UHPK2 TW rom ? From that I know you can do backup of NVM only on stock rom and how to do this you can find here. Just do steps only to backup, then send me a file
Also if someone has other sugestions how I can fix it then post it below.
I'm using newest LineageOS nightly and HQC1 Radio/Bootloader.
Edit: I also have problem with GPS, navigation on Google Maps wont work and internet connection is a little bit slow even when LTE is connected.
